lol fructose is a form of sugar, and for those who cant tolerate 'cane sugar' they usually cant tolerate fructose because their both sweeteners and affect blood glucose levels the same. Agave, xytol or better than both (stevia) are much better options than fructose.
Really don't know what happened the video was 10 mins long...somehow its been cut? Not by me. Weird. It was there before. Anybody know how this happened?
Would never use hydrogenated oils such as margarine. Coconut oil is much better and is a medium-chain triglyceride, a very stabile oil which does not break down at high heat. Also, would not use spelt flour as it will still cause problems for those sensitive to wheat, despite what Anette says in this video. As for sugar, fructose is one of the worst, raising uric acid levels which has a negative effect on the body, in particular the heart. Would use coconut palm sugar, which is low glycemic
@mrbelley I DO NOT USE HYDROGENATED OILS...EVER...THE ORGANIC MARG I USE IS MADE WITH NON HYDROGENATED OILS...ABOVE YOU CAN SEE THE INGREDIENTS. I USE ORGANIC FRUCTOSE WHICH HAS A MUCH LOWER GI THAN SUGAR AND IS FAR HEALTHIER. IF YOU WANT VERY LOW GI THEN USE AGAVE SYRUP, STEVIA OR XYLITOL. SPELT FLOUR CONTAILS GLUTEN BUT MANY PEOPLE WITH A WHEAT INTOLERANCE CAN EAT IT.
I bought fructose today, inspired by your recipes and read through some information afterwards. So I do want to use it, I just wanted to get some information on why you prefer to use it :)
No worries! :) Good luck! Just baked a cake...my family said it was very yummy! Made (fake) Coffee cake. Its is the same as the chocolate cake recipe, but instead use caffix!
can i ask you two things 1) what is the opeining tune in all your videos - i really like it.
Also - why don't you just use demerara sugar or raw cane sugar - fructose, if you research it is actually processed and like maple syrup and other refined sugars causes that peak in blood sugar levels.
I prefer to use naturally occuring fruit sugar...try and buy a eco freindly make kind. Fructose has very low GI level much lower than any sugar including raw cane sugar. Sugar from a sugar cane is poison it has been refined and treated and put though certain proceedures. They put the fructose threw a proceedure but if you try and find a bio or eco one then you know they look after it better!
but how sure are you that fructose is the unrefined kind because i also dont want to risk my health in the long-term or suffer the short-term peak in bloood sugar or changes in mood that refined stuff causes. are you sure 100%. thanks
Every thing has been through a 'process' ! Fructose has a very low GI. Sugar has the highest. So for health reasons sugar is the worst. The only way to get the best quality is get organic or grow/make your own - which is a little difficult! Fructose is better than sugar FOR SURE for your health. One of the purest things is honey but for strick vegans this is not an option.
Have you tried using agave syprup before? Agave is a natural sweetner from a cactus plant. Also low in GI and said to be ok for diabetics. Hope this helps.
That was great! Thank you very much! I will be making this in my kitchen! I think you do a great job especially when you informed us on what the apple vineager and the banking soda would do. I will looking forward to more of your videos!
Use rice flour instead of spelt flour as spelt contains gluten. I will make sure I mention the gluten free options in future. I have made 2 new programmes which should be on youtube in the next couple of weeks. Anette

Fructose is not good for you,you can make it with dark amber agave nectar,or stevia instead, even raw organic honey would be better than fructose.

Could you tell me about fructose is healthier? I checked wikipedia, but from there it seemed as if fructose was unhealthy.
anavill 2 years ago
Fructose comes from fruit not sugar cane.
"Fructose is broken down by the body slowly and is converted into
SUCROSE and GLYCOGEN. Fructose is often recommended for, and consumed
by, people with diabetes mellitus or hypoglycemia, because it has a
very low Glycemic Index relative to cane sugar."
White sugar is not good for you and described by many doctors as poison. If you don't want to use fructose then use maple syrup instead.

Yes corn syrup will be fine. Then you should probably use organic non hyrogenated marg instead of oil, to make sure the cake is firm. anette

Is the spelt flour whole grain?
fentutal 3 years ago
Yes, there are two types. White (type 1050) and wholegrain (the darker flour). Spelt does contain gluten. Hope that helps. Anette.
