It is now 19 weeks since my Heart Attack and 18 weeks since my Angioplasty. Ive passed the treadmill test and are back to work driving a HGV after 12 weeks rehab.
I feel as well as I ever have. For those of you who are about undertake this procedure, there is nothing to worry about. The one thing I would say, Stay on track with the aftercare rehab and exercise programme as direct by the Cardiac Nurse and keep doing . For me at 47 It was the only way I believe you can get your life back
i am 45 year old girl- when i told my doc that i was getting chest pains when excersizing he blew me off by saying heart disease in a 45 year old who works out, eats right-is highly unlikely - even with family history -i insisted a few months later when i got worse. the cardiologist - also treated me like a hypochondriac did the stress test just to prove me wrong - angiogram showed 3 bad arteries 1-90% blocked! i got 1 stent-moral of the story-when you know something is not right be persistant!
my doc also prolonged it more than 10 years and finally i got a friendly doc to perform angiography and angioplasty simultaneously ..... but in my case i did no exercise eat all fats and oil stuff and more occasionally drink heavily as well ..... rt coronary artery 90% cleared and stent put in ..... to more are blocked but again doc insists medicines will work left is 70% and this has to be corrected take second opinion surely .... thanks for posting and comments
@ashokarajin - Glad my comments were of use to you! So....how do you feel? I am also am working on 2 arteries with medication. I know surgery is inevitable, but I'm fairly young and don't mind waiting a bit....I still experience pain in my arm when exercising, and some days when I am at rest. I am really strict on myself with eating well and and exercise -and feel pretty good! -it stinks some times but living a full life is more important to me than that bowl of ice cream! good luck to you!
hi friend .... as you put it angioplasty is inevitable in the two arteries LAD and LCX which are 70% and 80% blocked .....i am doing fine now with one stent but i must tell you i have it easy at work and home though one cant miss out tensions of daily life and i have lots of problems also ....still i feel much better comparatively before and after angioplasty ....taking medicines regularly can help you control it in the sense that resistance to blockage ... thanks 4 reply
I had this procedure 7 weeks ago and had stents fitted in all of my Arterys. My OP took 3 hrs. I now feel Great and are walking for 30 mins each day. Please dont worry about Op, I found it better than going to the Dentit! Looking fwd to driving HGVs in 3 weeks....
I have to have this done in 2 weeks. The first time was back in August 2008, and I had 2 stents inserted. My latest stress test shows that I have blockages in the same area. Not looking forward to this...again!
I had an additional stent inserted about 1 year after my first 2 were done. After the second procedure, I felt great, and 1 year later my stress test showed a "normal" functioning heart. I feel great. Good luck.
After a recent heart attack I had 3 stents put in about and it's unreal how much better I feel. Before I was tired 24/7, had no energy and had daily chest pain and difficulty breathing. Now I'm felling so much better, more like myself.
i jus had two stents about a month sgo. and thsank god i feel very very good and energetic now. and thsnk you all for sharing all this info. may god be with all of you
Thanks for the video i just received stent and i feel much better ,the best thing that i did not ignor was the angina pain i used to have and when i went for angioplasty the cardiologist told me that my artery was blocked 80 percent ,if i would have not gone for this procedure i would have a heart attack, thanks for the knowlwdge i had after reading medical books .
Thanks once again for the video who ever has posted was informative.
Thank you. I recently recieved a stent. Although I was awake and watched the prcedure being performed on myself. I was'nt quite sure what I was looking at. Thanks for clearing that up.
Yep! Saw a case very similar to this several times. As one of my fellow cath techs once said, after we angioplastied and placed stents, "That kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy!" ^_^
nice result

Good luck! I felt better the instant that the blockage was removed. It's been 2 years and I feel great. You will be more well. It's like a miracle.

Behavior modification is very important; no smoking, low cholesterol, low fat, exercise, and stress free life.
