Tbh the way big daddy operates is the only realistic way that batman could either. No one is good enough to disable that many threats at once, unarmed and while leaving them alive, he would be taking his life in his hands with every fight.
@PuppKill3r Yo Makinganidiotoutofhimself, do you happen to know who was behind the score for Kick-Ass?
John Murphy.
Do you also happen to know what song he composed for a previous work and later re-scored in a new rendition for the song "Big Daddy Kills" from the warehouse shootout scene in Kick-Ass?
Think about it for a bit. I'm sure it'll come to you eventually.
@Mabloop Yeah, when John Murphy was composing songs for Kick-Ass, he totally stole this from the guy who composed the soundtrack for 28 Days Later. What was his name again? J-something? I know his initials were "J" and "M" but the rest just, well, it just seems to escape me.
I love that Big Daddy (the movie version, anyway) is basically a realistic version of Batman, who was in turn supposed to be a more realistic and human hero himself. Thing is, Batman comes off as nearly superhuman in his own right, and he was pretty much handed an absurd number of resources from day one.
Makes Big Daddy even more badass when you consider that he acquired all of his resources AFTER a few years in jail while simultaneously raising and training his daughter.
@VenathTehN3RD That's just unrealistic bud, Bruce Wayne's father was a fucking CEO of Wayne Industries. Which in fact had a military division, Big Daddy is a homo. Don't fucking say that Bat-Man has no motif as a character. He does, its what defines Bat-Man, that's why Big Daddy is a rip off and not vice versa.
@PuppKill3r Did you give any actual thought whatsoever to what you were about to post before you clicked the "Post" button? At all? Because there are a few things that make me think not:
1) "Ex-cop who kills and steals with knowledge gained as a cop" is considerably more realistic than "boy billionaire gains full control over multi-billion dollar corporation after severe trauma with no significant legal dispute and becomes a nighttime crime fighter in a bat costume."
2) A "motif" is a recurring subject, theme, or idea. Given that I never said anything at all about Batman's motif, I can only assume you were unaware of that fact, and simply confused "motif" with a different word.
3) Big Daddy isn't a ripoff of Bruce by any stretch of the imagination save for the basic appearance of his costume (And even then, only in the film version). If anything, his (film) origin, methods, and abilities are far more reminiscent of Frank Castle.
@thesuperbeast10 This version is called "Big Daddy Kills." The version Murphy used for the movie 28 Days Later is called "In the House, In a Heartbeat."
It's sad as fuck when he dies but I have to say he'd fucking own Batman anyday. Big Daddy loves his daughter but he was out for revenge and that's why he didn't give a shit if he lived or died thats why he goes in barrels blazing and balls to the wall. Kinda like Denzel Washington in Man On Fire.

The coreography in this scene makes it extra special. It starts off so calm, yet foreboding, and then basically explodes; Bid Daddy goes between the various henchmen and silences them in a brutal and effective fashion. A really memorable scene, this.
