Thanks for taking the time to explain the game! To all the people moaning about the video...could you please share where we can find the videos you have made that are better. If you haven't taken the time to make your own videos then maybe you shouldn't be so critical.
Bio: Bob Hunt has been painting houses for 17 years and specializes in painting, pressure washing, and even repairing interior and exterior properties both residential and commercial.
oh for gawd's sake, look at all these croquet snobs doing the man down. croquet is a fantastic game and there is no reason why it shouldn't be enjoyed by anyone, anywhere, anyhow. this fellow has taken the time to try and enlighten people how to play the game. give him a break.
See , this is exactly why I HATE croquet. No one ever has a set of official rules! Whether you're British, or American. Everyone is commenting about how this is some backyard version, others are saying it's an American version, and some are saying that this guy is just making up stuff off the top of his head....hmmm, one of these coments that people are leaving MUST be right? But which one, lol
firstly, its called a roquet when you knock someone elses ball. Secondly, why is an american teching people to play croquet, he clearly has no idea. Thirdly, he appeard to have invented his lawn layout and rules from scratch, with practically no resemblance to the actual rules of crocuet. he is also holding the mallet in a way reminicent of the hold used by females in the late 17th century, so not really the most up to date or appropriate grip there. also, there hoops not wickets.
This would appear to be American 9-wicket "backyard" croquet. I haven't seen any rules on croquet that ever allow for 3 shots (bonus strokes don't accumulate, but rather are forfeited when a new bonus is earned). My understanding of the 9-wicket rules is that RED would have two more strokes for scoring the two wickets in one stroke. The fact that red hit blue is ignored.
No, it's not American. American Croquet is not that dissimilar from Association Croquet. He just doesn't know what he's doing. Looks like he's talking about lawn croquet.
What version of croquet are you talking about? In many versions of croquet, you can't get three bonus strokes and you can't claim a wicket after roqueting. Explaining what version of croquet you're teaching on would avoid confusion.
