I do think the political voting thing is overplayed as an excuse - we also have to take account of the fact that it's inevitable that music from certain regions will appeal to the voters of that region more.
Andy Abraham's a good enough singer, better than most on display at Eurovision, but the song was fairly weak,not the weakest,but still weak.Couple that with cultural difference/continued antiUK foreign policy feeling,and he certainly had no chance of winning.I still fail to see quite how only two countries gave any votes at all when several gave the Spanish/Bosnia/Greek abomination points (and not just "neighbouring countries")

Oh behave!! I agree with you third line, but "deserved to come last"??? Did you not here some of the songs that finished ahead of it?? Bosnia HG for instance? Greece? (which UK voters gave 12 pts - jeez!)IMO, it deserved to finish around 8th to 12th - no higher or lower.

Undoubtedly, there's a high degree of political voting. There's no doubt we neither produce songs which stand out from the crowd, nor use artists who have a following in mainland Europe.
I do think the political voting thing is overplayed as an excuse - we also have to take account of the fact that it's inevitable that music from certain regions will appeal to the voters of that region more.

Andy Abraham's a good enough singer, better than most on display at Eurovision, but the song was fairly weak,not the weakest,but still weak.Couple that with cultural difference/continued antiUK foreign policy feeling,and he certainly had no chance of winning.I still fail to see quite how only two countries gave any votes at all when several gave the Spanish/Bosnia/Greek abomination points (and not just "neighbouring countries")

The whole Eurovision show was a load of Political crap, the sooner The United Kingdom gets out of this charade the better. The voting is so politically motivated by the Baltic states, and similar groups of countries from the old Soviet Union. That song is great...it just did not sound so good live on stage (the singer was too quiet)...but the music is far more better then some in the Top10.

i thought it was a good song! that spanish one was crap and they got about 50 points! and i thought that malta and poland would give us some points but they didn't! they should stop televoting. it annoys me because the UK actually funds towards the eurovision and all the western countries get there music from the united kingdom anyway! just politics. There's a lot of controversy surrounding Eurovision right now, but it doesn't change the fact that YOU NEED A GOOD SONG, especially in the UK with the voting blocs aligned against you.
This isn't a good song. It sounds like a rejected 70s Disco track.
Stick with sing-along-ballads and you give yourself a better chance. Don't forget that most of Eastern Europe is virulently racist anyway, so they'd never vote for Abraham.

I totally agree with you - I think enuff is enuff it's no joke anymore - I am from NZ and have lived in the UK for only a few years now and have already learned how politically motivated this contest has become. I am just as good a Wogan at predicting how the votes are cast and a yet a few years ago, living in NZ I had never heard of 1/2 of these countries. EuroV. is only useful as a Geography lesson. UK - the biggest funder of it - STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY ON IT !

i recomend that england spain germany and france leave, the funding eurovision will get will fall dramatically this will hopefully spur on a new voting system and then hopefully western europe can win. if not then eurovision needs to shut down or change its name because it may include the whole of europ but it does not enforce equal oppotunitys. once big nations like the uk and spain leave eurovision will never be the same again
