  • By far thee most best rock n roll band in my book!!! Bono oozes of hotness!!!

  • Be nice if he got the words right !!! Good version though :)

  • regardless...this is groovy. love it. love the album and both bands.

  • As for the comment about the crucifixion, Christ was crucifiied with two common thieves, not any of his disciples. Have never heard of Cross of St. Peter, but I have heard of St. Brigids Cross.

  • Manson is an LWOP and will never be on the streets again. And I'm sure if he ever did get out,,, wouldn't live long. Too many hurting peeps out there. He and his cult scarred a nation.

  • He butchered the lyrics. -___-

  • WOW!! Best band of all time!!! NO DOUBT!

  • for all of those opposed...

  • 1:13 gay

  • Yeh... It would be even better if he got the words right...Maybe a lover but you aint no dancer !!!!!!!

  • @motorhead19651 I'm pretty sure that was a decision on his part, not a mistake...

  • he even got the words wrong. WOW>

  • @emilypaige69 he Did That on Purpose

  • Actually Im a huge fan of the beatles way more than u2, but I have to say this version is much better.

  • I say they stole it back and that's what matters, that sick fuck Manson, who never killed anyone. Alot of people don't realize that he killed no one! He was one of the first Cult Leaders! I grew up with that guy as the boogie man in the SF Bay Area, him and the other sick fucker that they never caught The Zodiac Killer, FRY THEM, good Job U2

  • I like it much more.

  • Bono is holding a cross upside down. What does that mean.

  • @dasnj1 ...............Satan or uɐʇɐs

  • @dasnj1 It's the Cross of St. Peter - Simon Peter was crucified upside down. From Wikipedia: "It is believed that Peter requested this form of crucifixion as he felt he was unworthy to be crucified in the same manner that Jesus died. As such, some use this cross as a symbol of humility and unworthiness in comparison to Jesus."

Ironically, in more recent decades the upside down cross has also used as an anti-Christian symbol.

I'm pretty sure in this case it means the first scenario.

  • This is definitely one of my favorite covers of all time.

  • Ha ha ha..chip monk speed and pitch...lol!

  • @Snotra PAL Speedup for ya! Regular speed NTSC versions get detected and deleted off YouTube.

  • There are 440 pitch and speed versions that have not been deleted?

  • I don't like the guitar, but when Bono first hit "Then you see me again" I got goosebumps!

  • FUCK CHARLES MANSON

  • I like this version much better than the Beatles version. Bono is a better singer than Paul (not that Paul is bad). I like the guitar better in this version too. Great cover!

  • I actually really like this. I normally hate covers of Beatles songs, but this is great. It doesn't have the same metal sound as the original, but it would be really bad if they tried to make it sound exactly the same. Good version.

  • The Beatles had nothing to do with mansenASS. That is a myth he created to cover hisASS.

  • everyone stfu. now.

otherwise I'll stomp on your head.

appreciate the music, and stop arguing. :)

  • this song is only from the beatles

  • @eeun99 WHY?

  • Really, Bono? Without Chuckles Manson this would have been relegated as a bad b-side. Meh. It is not a well put together song to begin with (and by the way, Siouxsie and the Banshees covered it better...in '81)

  • it sounds really good actually

  • The beatles wrote the song. U2 made it badass.

  • when we perform this - we lean towards this version.

  • 0:27 to 0:33 is the best part!!!!

  • while i overall like The Beatles version better this version is much less terrifying and doesn't make me have nightmares

  • well its not the beatles, i think U2 is better. Mainly the DRUMs! Beatlemanics so sorry but Ringo sucks

  • @raoninery hijo de puta helter skeelter es de los beatles nadie como los beatles paul mccartney¡

  • @strokbeatle estas nervosita? hahahahah

  • @raoninery I can only guess why you think Ringo sucked, your motivation to this cliche is completely lacking. So i must assume you are one of many amusical amateurs that can't recognize the wonderfully creativity and originality of Ringo's drum parts. As well as that he was a magnificent team player that played exactly what the song needed without stifling it. That's good. I think you mistake lack of "in your face" flashy drums fills and probably speed with "suck". Sir, you are wrong.

  • @zeijedatnietnetookal Ringo was the wrong guy in the right band.

  • @raoninery His singing was pretty awful though, i've heard worse, but it's really bad.

  • u2 its the best band ever...im shore that song u2 plays good...im not listenning of beatles song..but for me u2 its the best band ever on heart...u2 portugal...loves u2 ever

  • The original version by the Beatles was PURE excellence. I adore U2 but the beatles were and still are the best of everything. I am passionate about CCR but in a different way so i just love all of them for their love of playing excellent music. Hugs XXXXXOOOOO

  • I have never liked U2, but this version wasn't that bad. I think Bono did a very good job but the edge's performance was crap.

  • Charles Manson stole it from The Beatles!

  • U2 are good... but so overrated

  • I respect the beetles alot but the purpose of them writing that song was for U2 to steal it back

  • @NYfootball56 That's your opinion but retarded in so many ways

  • I love the Beatles and u2 did them justice. The montle Crue version sux tho

  • This is 100 times better than the Beatles version, at least to me...

  • @Fica96ns lol!!!!!!!!!!!! stupid!!!

  • @Fica96ns YOU HAVE NO EARS!!! STUPID!!!!!!!!!!

  • @paulisdeadman Calm down, i do have ears, i like this version better than the Beatles so what? Why do you have a problem with that?

  • @Fica96ns :)

  • sounds so virgin

  • The point of this wasnt to make a better or worse version than the beatles, this was about saying "fuck you youre not takeing this song away from us" to charles manson. After the murders nobody would touch this song, and the guys of U2 simply said "we're not letting him take this song from us" hints the intro. Veiw it as what it is; a protest aginst allowing a murderer define our musical choices

  • @ElementIU2 That doesn't make this version any better.

Its lacking, they could have done so much better.

  • @ElementIU2 well said, and love the idea, the song and U2 :-)

  • Type in Pat Benatar Helter Skelter and listen to this song being sung off the fucking chain! Pat Benatar sings the BEST COVER, hands down!!!!!!

  • this is a brilliant brilliant fuckin brilliant cover

  • cannot forget the underlying monster death squad on 10 Aug 1969 behind the

blood on the refrigerator in Leno Labianca house . R.I.P

Bono - think you may have easily left this song uncovered. P . Ireland

  • I hope people reaslise that this song helter skelter influenced the satanist charles manson, and it has satanic undetones; the beatles weren't good and pure - you don't think that the music industry has been taken over by occult forces? Check out John Todd (now dead) and it's just plain obvious in jay z, rhianna and lady gaga videos. How do they become stars? Literally by giving them souls to the devil. That's how it is these days, wake up people, jesus is the way

  • @seviallnoolivero lol you religious bastard haha. Preach at your church Faggot

  • @seviallnoolivero You do know that Charles Manson was a psychopath, right? Let me repeat: CHARLES MANSON WAS A PSYCHOPATH! AND IF YOU'RE A PSYCHOPATH, YOU CAN FIND "SATANIC MESSAGES" IN ANYTHING!!!!!! GET YOU'RE HEAD AND YOUR BIBLE OUT OF YOUR ASS!

  • @seviallnoolivero You wanna know what else influenced Charles Manson? THE BIBLE! He drew all his inspiration for his prophecies directly from the book of Revelation. He had formulated his crazy ideas years before he heard the Beatles, it was all from the Bible, and when he heard the White Album he thought it had coded messages about the prophecy he had already come up with based on the coded messages he thought he saw in the Bible. So i guess the Bible has been taken over by occult forces?

  • @seviallnoolivero so where did violence come from BEFORE music and t.v ???? your an idiot and bear in mind you believe it was fine for moses to butcher 3000 men and women for making a golden ram??

THE 11TH COMANDMENT KEEP THY FUCKING RELIGION TO THYSELF!

  • @seviallnoolivero So the fact that this song "influenced" an evil act makes the song and the song's creators evil? Why don't you place responsibility for the evil action upon the person that committed said evil action - Charles Manson, and stop being a supersticious moron. The Beatles are not evil, U2 is not evil. There is no such thing as evil. You're just a bored little moron who's ruled by his own fears.

  • WOAH, that's an amazing cover!!!!!! i bet the beatles would love this ;D

  • when u2 was u2

  • No offense; I like Pat Benatar's cover of this song better than U2, Motley Crue, & Aerosmith. I guess it's a preference I guess. Maybe I'm bias because my teen years were when I first heard Pat Benatar. Between her being the first rocker chick launch on MTV and just something about her music she was my first musical role model. She was a great role model too. Tough, smart, independent, and self respect at the same time. Didn't need to hump the stage, write a sex book, or go to rehab.

  • I'm a diehard fan of The Beatles and U2 so I don't have a problem with U2 covering The Beatles...they're both great bands in their own time, but by far The Beatles are arguably the best band of all time...

  • i like this version the best!

  • This version isn't half as good as the Beatle's version.... it's 15,000 times as good! If you don't like that, why waste your energy on this one anyways? Though the Beatles sealed their own fate with drug abuse and lost the war against irrelevance, U2 has stayed relevant in the music scene for several decades and lifted the whole world up with their actions both on the stage and off!

  • It's got nothing on the Beatles. U2 would be the first to admit that. But this is a fucking great cover!

  • if you guys like the beatles version so much then go listen to it and stop annoying all the people who dont like stupid fucking brits and their gay music

  • @epicslurpee You do realise the "brits" and their "gay music" wrote this song right? So you're being a bit hypocritical really aren't you? Yes this is a brilliant cover, but the Beatles created it and no one can beat the original. The Beatles, greatest band of all time, inspired many of the musicians you listen to. In fact I bet many British bands did... So don't slag off Britain when they produce the best musicians in the world, and no one has come close to topping the Beatles.

  • nice! both versions are reallly good, in my opinion.

  • Its not because it isn't the Beatles. It's because it just isn't good.

I'm a U2 fan and Beatle fan, hell, I even went to a U2 concert.

They could of done it better than they had here, but what can you say? It's live.

  • U2 ain't got shit on Paul (even the 64 yr old version) and the beatles. Sounds like a dying fucking cockroach. He took the erection out of the song. This song to me sounds like a Justin Bieber. I feel like I've turned gay. Such Faggotry.

    @Fodgd2: HELL YEAH<3!!

  • The beatles version raped this

  • bono no seu maior estilo joelmaa!!! kkkk adorooo!!!

AWESOME VERSION!!! LOVE EVERYTHING! SORRY! *-*

  • I like the Beatles version better... but you know... thats me i guess

  • I like the Beatles version better... but you know...

  • I really like it.

  • lol their accents sound cute when they say helter skelter

  • One Word, Don't Discuss, Listen to the Music with your Heart. Ofcourse, The Beatles have made this Song, So everyone thinks this one is better. And i'm Not gonna Fight about it. Listen to the music men, And calm down. U2 are just Music Makers, Just like every other band. And every band does sometimes a Cover of the Beatles, Because they are Legends. Keep On listening to Music with your heart, not with your heat. Peace on Earth.

  • @JustaU2Fan This song was written with the intent to make the loudest most horrific ugliest piece of crap song that they possibly could. At the time, the most low budget crummy fairs had a kiddie roller coaster. It was a rickety hunk of junk that was neither fast nor fun nor safe. On top of this ride was a sign that read HELTER SKELTER. So the beatles said "Thats the name for the most horrible song we can possibly muster." Now then how difficult is it to come up with a better version?

  • @griessinthewood Stop misquoting. It was never made to be an ugly piece of crap. It was made to be as loud and raucous as possible to copy Pete Townsend. The name Helter Skelter was used primarily not for the ride but because its original meaning was 'in disorderly haste or confusion'.

  • "We're stealin' it back"? Bono's never been anything if not presumptuous.

  • This is way better and more musical than The Beatles' version.

  • @BaseballPie I think that too :D

  • When I watched this on the RattleandHum video, I couldn't help but notice that Bono did that wierd thing where he leans over and lets his hair fall over his face and then suddenly flips it up as he stands up like twenty times.

  • I prefer U2 version, i think its 10 times better than the original, no 1,000,000 times better! :D

  • actually, charles manson stole it from motley crue.

wow, what a major mistake for a major band. wow.

    people are so ignorant.

  • @lester5192 what a dipshit its a beatles song man Helter skelter is a little cheesy fair ride that was in manchester or some place in England

  • @griessinthewood shout at the devil is the cd it came out on over 25 years ago. do some research before you speak fuck face faggot.

wow. such idiocy. i mean wow. .

  • @lester5192 Ist I'll say that calln u a dipshit was wrong of me. But u r stating wild bizaar untrue facts then in a superior tone saying "Wow look how stupid people r." Thats sorta the definition of a dipshit. UR comment 2 me is pathetic & sad. If u can pull ur head out for 1 sec, When Sharon Tate was begging 4 her & her unborn fetus' life as Mansons cult members were thrusting a knife blade in2 her then wrote "Helter Skelter" on the wall w/her blood, Motley Crue may hav been in 1st grad

  • @griessinthewood if you look in this video, they say you can see charles manson standing in the audience.

  • @lester5192 I gotta disagree on one point: Manson actually did get it from The Beatles. Motely Crue didn't do their cover until the 80's. Manson was obsessed with the White Album, which is what Helter Skelter appeared on in 68.

  • love both versions

  • Why is everyone bitching that U2's version isn't as good as the original? They aren't the fucking Beatles!!! You can't expect it to sound the exact same! So what, it's different, music is full of mistakes but that is what makes music music.

  • @20001854 But why is it a mistake, this cover is better than the original, at least to me and many ppl i have asked.... ? xD

  • @Fica96ns Better than the original??? You gotta be joking... right? U2's is probably the better "cover". But still nowhere close to the original. Now way man. What you smoking??

  • @theparanormalsociety no im not joking, im 15 and i dont smoke anything, i just think that this cover is better than the original song. Its just my opinion...

  • @Fica96ns that's cool. I respect your opinion. No harm done :)

  • @20001854 I think this version is AMAZING!

  • @20001854 hahahahahh you fool what are you saying? You said it like The Beatles are better but how can you compare The Beatles and U2 when they are different and you also said that music is different and full of mistakes!Well let me tell you this song is not full of mistakes they make a cover but at the same time added something from them just because it doesn't sound like the original doesn't mean that it's wrong!

  • @KalaLP30 I am not saying that The Beatles are better than U2, nor am I saying that U2 are better. Everyone is complaining that U2's version sucks simply because it's not the Beatles version. I am not saying that the song is full of mistakes, but if you expect this version to sound just like the original then where is the fun in that? Music would be boring if it all sounded the same, you know what I am trying to say?

  • @20001854 : I actually think this might be a little better than the original. U2 did an amazing job revibing it.

  • I love this version :D

  • YEAH....that's very good..............but i think the Paul McCartney's version is the greatest¡¡

  • very much so - still prefer Paul to do it, but but this one's close!

  • very much so - still prefer Paul to do it, but but his one's close!

  • i like it but the beatles ♥

  • Have Loved U2 For Many Year's Got To See Them Live This Year Omg!! Was So Amazing Word's Can Not Say They Will Allway's Be Number One Rock Band Of The World & Not Just Coz They Are A Rock Band But Coz Of The Many Million's They Save Each Day x If You No & Follow Them You Will No Wot I Mean ;) x

  • I love U2, but in this clip, bono sounds like gay.

  • @caio21able wtf

  • WTF No One said

"I GOT BLISTER ON MY FINGERS!"

  • @ChuckFromNorway in the beatles version paul yells it at the end of the song

  • I expected better U2.

  • "We're stealing it back" - what a twat. U2 are always shit, but never more shit than when they're doing shitty covers like Night and Day and this load of bollocks

  • a chier cettes chanson chanter par bono XD

  • Absolute rubbish. Hypocritical bastards. They make a huge claim to be "better than the beatles", then they cover them?! AND THEY FUCK UP THE LYRICS?! This is just blatant disrespect. Not to mention, Bono's a bit of a douche to begin with.

  • Larry didn't scream "I've got blisters on my fingers" at the end... Too bad...

  • "We're stealing it back".....*shudder at the egotism*

  • This a great great cover, but Beatles is unsurpassed

  • great song i love this one, u2fan forever (L)

  • Bono has a more melodic voice

  • bono doesn't know all of the right words lol but it's a good cover

  • great modern song

  • mansons ranch is like 40 mins away from me =o

  • THIS IS A SONG CHARLES MANSON STOLE FROM THE BEATLES... WE'RE STEALIN'IT BACK..

  • doesnt seem like s beatles kind of song.

  • Well...for me is the best cover!

  • Paul M. wrote this song after reading that critics called the who's "I can see for miles" the loudest song, so paul wrote a louder one, that's all. (btw the song is actually credited to Lennon/McCartney )

  • @TasOMW Like all Beatles' song except Ringo's and George!

  • Sorry but bono takes the dirty gritty sexiness out of this song when he sings it. Don't really like this cover

  • @Blue67impala well i thought it was an excellent cover actually.its a short song with little lyrics.

  • oh and to hear a "extremely poor cover" of this song...just click on the Motley Crue version to your right. This is "extremely awesome" in comparison.

  • I love U2 and I love the Beatles. This is not an amazing cover, but I'm reading "extremely poor cover" and thinking "what are these people listening to?" This is not a poor cover. Its actually pretty good and I, mainly because I have a brain, can see what U2 were trying to do with this cover. Have a good day.

  • Weak effort...its got nothing on the original, why even bother!!!

  • @dutchschultz85 because if you listen carefully at the start of the song bono does explain why they are bothering.

its to give the song back to its rightful owners which is john lennon and paul mcartney.

this song was stolen by charles manson who used it in a sinister way .

he thought the song was instructing him to kill people and that the lyrics contained secret messages about an upcoming race war.

  • @MrArnold1972 charles manson is an idiot, how do get killing people froma pure fun song like this. Sometimes the world makes no sense

  • @Blue67impala i agree with you.apparently if you play this song backwards it instructs you to start a war.sort of goes against everything john lennon stood for dont you think.

  • @MrArnold1972 yeah and for christs sake the song is about a slide called helter skelter in the U.K. I mean really?

  • great movie, great band, but awful cover...

  • @fox3690

    i agree

  • IPREFERTHEBEATLESVERSION, don't kill me O.O

  • @fodgd Agreed. This is lame. U2 are much better than their efforts here.

  • @fodgd undoubtedly but, this cover is the best of all Helter Skelter's cover... just my opinion.

  • @fodgd But, you must admit, not too bad for a song the band is playing spontaneously, without really rehearsing it. They also did that with "All Along the Watchtower" in this film.

  • amazing!!

  • 147 people with poor eye-hand coordination?

  • great cover to this song.

Amazing john lennon wrote this on a cigarette packet and just grabbed the lyrics out of thin air.

    Awesome

  • @MrArnold1972 Well, McCartney wrote it... and I'm not sure about the rest.

  • @djsufferthing no.john lennon wrote this.not macca.sorry.

  • @MrArnold1972 Check wikipedia and read McCartney's biography, "Many Years from Now." I believe it's also mentioned in a book about Lennon, "All We Are Saying: The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono." Take care.

  • @djsufferthing well im sorry too dis-agree with you.

but im going on what i have read and john lennon apparently wrote this song ona cigarette packet on a bus in liverpool whilst on his way to a meeting with brian epstein.

This is a debate that could go on for evermore and its irrelevant anyway.

great song by lennon and mcartney.take care.

  • @MrArnold1972 Actually Paul wrote it and played lead. John said to Playboy that this song had not much to do with anything and SURELY had nothing to do with him.

  • This is awesome, but they got the wrong lyrics. (Some times)

  • Extremely poor cover

  • one of the greatest music films of all time*sniff*

  • no energy? Bono and the crew are bringing a ton of energy to this song. I love the Beatles and I think U2 did a greaet job covering this.

  • I wish I was there!!!

  • likelikelikelikelikelikelikelikelikelikelikelikelikelike!!!!

  • Bono, you rock, John would love this version ;)

  • It is really hypocrite if a john lennon fan hates Bono

  • BONO....I WOULD.

  • LAME.

No Bass, where is the Bass ? Where is it ?

This song is all about bass, and the vital ingredient is missing.

Very poor version and no energy, and U2 are suppose to the best lol !

  • @59whiterabbit the bass is there cant you hear it???

  • @59whiterabbit the bass is louder than the guitar in this version, you should hear it

  • @59whiterabbit YOutube quality. I had the DVD with it on it, and the bass was prominent.

  • @59whiterabbit WTF are you saying man?In this song there is more guitar! In the original song by beatles were john and george at guitar and paul at bass. The intro is all guitar so?

  • Gutless and weak. The only "interesting" part of this video is Paul and Dave's slash-fic moment at 1:12.
