  • Fallout introduced me to this awesome group

  • Still listening in early 2012. Live forever, Ink Spots.

  • Music nowadays is poisening the minds of people listening to it. I'm so glad i dont listen to any of that crap! Ink Spots All The Way!!!!

  • I still have the record that Dad used to play when I was about 8, I thought it was great.

  • Just.Plain.Awesome

  • Seems 1 idiot told the trees.

  • @motherflange Dear Human,

I say we have a chat with him... >:)

    From: Dragon.

  • loved it

  • Tengo 26 Años Amo Esta MUSICA Y Agradezco Infinitamente A Quien Subio Este Video,Apoyemos Esta Musica,Gracias Por Que Me Cambio La Vida

  • This is so amazing. What a lovely song <3

  • Lovely <3

  • One word, Talent.

  • nosy ass trees....

  • I love The Ink spots but I have to admit I would have never known about them if not for Fallout 3.

  • I am 13 years old and living in scotland, and i envy people like this, class, style and pure cool. Music, Joy and everything inbetween is shown by these artists. I often wonder what it was like back then....

  • Listen to this music.. so much style, so much class. It really makes you wonder, what the hell happened to music?

  • Thank you IrRris113nt, just great. Really takes me back, (1940's) my parents really loved their music. Ink spots, Billy Ekstine, June Christy, Anita Oday, Duke Ellington, I'm telling you the 40's was hot. I could go on. No tv, no cell phones, just .15cents for the movies on sat afternoons, (after chores) and kick the can outside til the street llights went on. Thanks

  • @postofc I completely agree. have you ever felt lost in this world and wanted to get back to the old one

  • dear youtube don't stop me from listening to good music by cock blocking with shitty music which no one here cares about

  • Though my musical preference is Drum & Bass, I remember hearing this song for the first time (The Ink Spots recording) on TV a good 8 years ago, without knowing the artist. It's took me a while to get here because I have had nothing to go on except humming the melody, without remembering any lyrics. Thankfully I have now found it. My patience has been amply rewarded.

  • now have the strange urge to wander round Rapture shooting Splicers...

  • 1 demente que não gosta de uma boa música....

  • Dear Youtube, Do NOT interrupt my Ink Spots with an advertisement for Glee. Thanks.

  • @xMusikKrazi Oh yeah nice to hear that you are hater of these stinkin ads like I am. Because when I have a disgusting ad before any youtube music video I feel like a boy getting beat up by a huge group of bullies.

  • @BTTFandBillyMaysFan The funny thing is a bunch of people I know like glee, I'm 16 so it was inevitable. I am part of the 1% of teenagers to appreciate quality music.

  • @xMusikKrazi You aren't alone, I also enjoy quality music such as this. I am also part of that one percent

  • To my Great Grandmother. Missed evey day. xxx

I remember sitting and listing to the ink spots with you, Memories for ever in my heart. xxx

  • I'd dedicate this one to my Mother R>I>P> she (Irene) was so crazy about Tree's...the kind of mom who wasn't embarrassed to hug tree's...but then I heard...our Dutch Princess Irene does hug em too! shhhhhhh!

  • The Ink Spots have the most varied intros ever.

  • every intro is the same and every one has a spoken word part in the middle of it haha but i love it so much

  • I had this played at my mothers funeral,it was just so poignant and touching ,something i will never forget, thankyou so much for posting.

  • great great group, love all there music, brilliant.

  • So calm and nice :)

  • 161 seconds of utter perfection.

  • The songs start the same, but god damn all of them are beautiful.

  • Donne Estelle sang this best......just a shame the BBC made it a novelty record......sounds like an angel....

  • Very soothing

  • Just one of the Ink Spots songs that I always enjoy since hearing them on the radio during WW2. A pity this stuff is no longer 'cool'.

  • I must admit to preferring the Bill Kenny version

  • I HAD THIS PLAYED AT MY MOTHERS FUNERAL AS WE WENT IN TO THE CHAPEL,IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL,SOMETHING I WILL NEVER FORGET.

  • @1952terminater sorry for your loss, beautiful beautiful song

just clicked on it there and i rem my 79yr old mum singing it she passed away in jan 2010

  • @lorenasmiles i used to love listening to this with dad too.... it makes me cry everytime i listen to this...

  • @lorenasmiles thankyou so much,it means a lot

  • is it possible to sent this song to a cell phone number? if so how?

Thank you, she would prob laugh at me.

  • jerry; nikki misses you and thinks about you all the time

  • What a uniquely beautiful song this is

  • hahah is he mad at grass?

  • you may think their songs have the same intro, which it does, but TODAYS MUSIC IS JUST REMYXX 80'S disco with EXTRA FOUL LANGUAGE... and lovesongs are forever DEAD unless its some POOR GIRL fighting over a shlub guy----too bad, because the BIBLE has a whole BOOK OF LOVESONGS-------SONG OF SONGS

  • @49jubilee todays music isnt all trash todays music scene is just way oversaturated so a bunch of no talent trash is getting famous, but good music still gets released all the time.

  • It's like being back in my granda's house, sun shining, the dog barking and the canal flowing outside. Wish I was there again

  • I can play the intro to most of they're songs on the ukulele ;)

    (F,Cdim,Gm7,C7)

  • i saw same commet every sıngle ınk spots song;

their every song starts with same tunes.

  • 1 blabbering tree.

  • you done told those blabbering trees

  • My dad used to play the record, about 45 years ago when I was young child, and I loved this one and Blueberry Hill. Mum would say not to play it, but I loved it too and asked for it to be played.

  • real music. real talent. not like the garbage we get today.

  • @coryg1088 You know it

  • I will not have gossip in this jungle!!! SING LOFTY R.I.P. Don Estelle

  • i love how they started every song with the guitar part, haha, awsome.

  • Wen gibt es ein besser Sing als dies, soll ich zu kenen.

  • why do all their songs start out the same way

  • @Radney12

Who knows?; Have you ever noticed that with any other song/songs by The Ink-Spots?

The song 'If I Didn't Care...' from 'The Shawshank Redemption' has almost the exact same sounding beginning.

  • fantastic

  • Did you guys notice every song of Ink Spots has the same opening music?

  • @sskhaw91

The beginning sounded a bit like 'If I Didn't Care...' from 'The Shawshank Redemption', a little bit.; Lol.

  • @sskhaw91 always the same four chords: Bb / G7 /C-7 / F7 ,to tune up the voices and keep right time.Ink Spots are happiness in music.Excuse my english.ciao

  • @sskhaw91 Ik right? haha. Yet some how all of their songs sound so beautiful

  • @sskhaw91 Not all of them.

  • @sskhaw91 not all, only just aq few

  • @sskhaw91 I know but it makes it even more awesome

  • @sskhaw91 Noway! Just kidding, yeah. It's their signature!

  • @sskhaw91 Shhhhhhhhh

  • @sskhaw91 just as i heard this song that same thought fluttered through my mind!

  • @sskhaw91 yes.

  • @sskhaw91 lol it's like their sign of copyright.

  • @sskhaw91 lol i only said that to my son last week ha ha .. your right 100%

  • @sskhaw91 It's a promise that something good is comming

  • @sskhaw91 not all just most but then again if its not broken then dont fix it and this will never be broken

  • @sskhaw91 not all the time, and thats what distinguishes them from other groups back in the 30's and 40's.

  • @sskhaw91 Those are called pickup notes and they are arranged in accordance to the melody since the melodies sound similar they will sound similar :)

  • @sskhaw91 yes, even if this is maden with a different tone

  • @sskhaw91 lmao yeah after watching 3-4 vids of their songs.

  • @sskhaw91 ikr? still a fucking epic band

  • @sskhaw91 What!?

  • @sskhaw91 That's just what they do. It's the same way banjo has that one signature thing to play.

  • This great music belongs to a great America of the 1940s, not the America of today where mediocraty passes for good in even endeavor. This was America at its peak but the curtain is coming down now and the crap passing for music goes right along with it.

  • God I love this ever since Ringo made the cover in his Sentimental Journey ( made for his mother) I couldn't get it outta my head I wish more people my age appreciated this more...

  • Gloria Lynne owns this song.

  • You should hear Hank Crawford's rendition on alto sax- wow!!

  • My late father and my late uncle i'm told sang this together!...

    sound tracks of their lives!

Ink Spots your so loves today!

  • Igonorent pregides

    Stupid minded fools!

  • okay...i'm 16, i loooove hip hop, rap, rock, dubstep, pop almost everything..... but this... makes me relax and just makes all my wrorries go away, and i can listen to this all the time .. :)

  • Does anyone know that Seinfeld episode with Elaine's boyfriend who has "his song" that he stops and does nothing and listens to? Well this is my song like that.

  • 1 idiot

  • @renzope1

I couldn't agree more.; Unlike the people who see comments like this & say "Get a life, you fag!", I'm not gonna cop out like that & stoop that low.

I wasn't born until 1989 & I still find music like this & from my generation a hell of a lot better & much more enjoyable than Justin 'Chokes On Dick' Beeber & The Jonas Sisters.

  • @tthomaselli2 we need more people like you to be educated I like almost any music except for hip hop, emo music and regeeaton

  • @renzope1

I like all kinds of music, also.; What's your point?

  • @renzope1

I'm educated & I also like all kinds of music, as well.; What's your point?

  • @tthomaselli2 we need more ppl like you

  • @renzope1

    Thanks.: :) .

  • @renzope1 HAhaha one idiot That is so funny. Thumbs up.

  • @renzope1 That's the tree

  • @renzope1 STILL 1 idiot.

  • listin if ure listing to this song u i belive should agree that the music they made back in these days was beautiful and wonderful it is the music that would last if a nuke fell on earth this song would stand the test of time

  • Oldies is what i will always listen to for the rest of my days... it calms the soul, Makes me happier than i've ever been. and i can follow with the lyrics.

  • I wish I could appear at the beginning of the Roaring Twenties and then return to the 21th century on the decline,2 years before the crash say.

  • i still prefer windsor davis but its the oringinal so have to say very good too

  • The Ink Spots knew what to sing and how to sing it.

This is time tested music for all generations, and how I wish performers of today would perform less and sing as these guys did...from the soul.

    theodas

  • Why can't music be like this today.

  • @TheSyrupCompany

because it's boring, and sounds like elevator music

  • @Superflykid2008

youve made your point, why dont you cut out the flaming against the ink spots now?

  • @IrRrIS1l3nt Can you...delete his comment please? :(

  • So sad,yet so great.

  • Im putting all their music on my ipod

Thumbs up if you watch sanford and son

  • Im putting all their music on my ipod

  • good ol' harold :')

  • they might be not here now,but their music lives on.

  • one person told the blabbering trees

  • hey this might be a stupid question.. A RELLAY RELLAY STUPID QUESTION ..but are the ink spots dead? :( i hope they arnt ..i fell in love with this song as a kid and i swear this music ..it could ..well do anything to people :)

  • @porkyhog44 All members of The Ink Spots are dead, the last living member, Huey long, died 10th June 2009 aged 105.

  • @PearsonProduction :( :( :( :( well their spirit will live long in there music :)

  • @porkyhog44

the Ink Spots are from the 30/40's

And the are all dead. >:

    RIP

  • haha. That guy talks in his deep voice for all of their songs.

  • This is beautiful music. Thank you.

  • Thanks so much. I haven't heard this in at least 50 years. Groups like the Ink Spots,Four Vagabonds, and The Cats & The Fiddle used to be on the radio all the time when I was a kid.

  • I don't mind how people got into this music, movie or game or experience

At least they're listening to this and not Justin beiber and lady gaga and others.

  • im 14, but i really love this music. it has such class, not like the currently popular songs. it seems they spin another one out every hour.

  • these songs should come back to LIFE!

  • First video I see with 0 dislikes.

  • SUPER !

  • i think the writer of these songs had an intro template lol, totally love them but surley they must have thought they needed different intros, or perhaps thats just part of the ink spots' charm?

  • Super fantastic.....

  • C'mon you guys, use your talent music to do a real music, like this, this is not impossible, i hope, this generation, will become a generation of jazz and blues again.

  • f!cking blabbering trees .__.

  • ''Don't tell the trees 'bout what I did last night okay whispering grass?''

  • This song bring back 30s 40s mid west traveling open plains.See the wind blowing gress plains. blue skys.

  • damn blabbing trees

  • The Ink spots were the best.

  • I love these people so mmmuch - lack of cynicism, pure schmmaltz

  • Fallout 3 introduced this kind of music to me, i love it.

  • This reminds me of my grandma. She loved these songs :) And it passed on. Amen.

  • They really like the consistent tune/beat to thier songs dont they? (like the intro) :D

  • @kineticatom1 - u refer to the presence of music? it was deemed a prerequisite to releasing a song back then, a strange antiquated notion dating back centuries and dying out in pop music roughly in the late 1980s.

  • A beautiful song by one of the Greatest All Time Groups! Bill Kenney is a outstanding Singer! I use to play their songs for hours on 78!

  • This music doesn't appeal to everyone, that I know. But I like them and they were great in their own style! I wish youtube had a thumbs up icon.

  • nice song, but the guy in the top right looks kind of weird

  • @hokumu

Hmmmmmmmmm...and Justin Bieber doesn't? Head out your arse mate, and accept people for what they are, and do, not what they look like.

  • @Kamen6b Amen

  • I've never played fallout 3. I came across the ink spots accidentallt, and they are amazing.

  • Boy, it aint 'alf 'ot mum:))))

  • This was my dads favourite band and i used to listen with him on a Saturday night.

  • Is it just me or is that the only people that listen to this type of music are fallout 3 fans? still goood song tho :D

  • @MrSevkebab

Not being funny mate, but it's the first time any of us will have heard this kind of music. We're not old enough to have been around when this was charting 40/50s.......But it's good we like it that much that we've gone out of our way to follow the links to get here......I'm enjoying The Ink Spots so much. :)

  • Wow. He's got a magic voice. If I could sing like that, I could make any woman swoon.

  • One of my absolute all-time favorites. Exquisite.

  • I agree this music is music nothing today can touch it. As soon as I hear those signatory guitar chords in the beginning of each piece, you know you're in for a treat.

  • Charles Ingram's song cheat lol

  • Like jiublink said, the intellect is there but people are too afraid to go against the flow of what everyone else is doing, and as a friend of mine says "only dead fish go with the flow".This is REAL music, not just some dickhead doing what they're told by their record label.Music just doesn't have a soul anymore.Don't get me wrong, theres pockets of good music, but the mainstream is soulless.I'm usually into heavy music like Killing Joke and Bad Brains and various punk bands, but The Ink Spots rule!!

  • @BlueFeatherKJ "only dead fish go with the flow" that wins my own personal award for best quote of the year! Thank for that. I agree with you, BTW. It's the big money men on top that killed good music like this, not the actual musicians of the world(except for the occasional dead fish musician).

  • i hope this typee of music becomes popular again

i swear every singer these days is just 1-3 young girls screaming :/

    see : jonas brothers

  • @evilmamaluigi see: justin bieber

along with that disney-esque band shit, you've got all that junk playing on the radio that talks about petty emotions that don't even really matter in the long run...and it only concerns things that are pleasurable in the short term...this is just deeper than any music you hear on the mainstream radio nowadays.

  • @evilmamaluigi I where thinking just the same! I fully agree =)

  • @evilmamaluigi What genre is it?

  • @mesie2006 Technically it's early R&B (Rhythm and Blues), just from long long before R&B became... well... what it is today.

Some places list it as "vocal", but I don't think that's fair on the incredible instrumentals.

  • @evilmamaluigi that is awesome.
