  • i know little about computer but redundant power supply how does it work and how do you put 2 power supply into redundant power supply

  • @seongwonchoi did some research but still dont know

  • would be sick water cooled

  • if you want to move, how do you move that giant thing? :P

  • daaaamn looks amazing

  • I subed becuase the channel is amazing and i am gonna build a deck just like this

  • Hey Will, I wonder if you have some job video on your PC The Desk if you have a movie how you did it if you can make one about the pain their own kind, I think I've seen all dinner movies sake eh fun if you did anyone else like the PC

  • @volvo85ful I don't know if you typed in another language then translated your text, but your sentence does not make any sense. Syntax errors. Sentence structure.

  • m8 thats fucking rules!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey, i want to know the dimensions of this desk, i want to make one too, but out of wood :D

  • Nice setup, i just finished my PC modded Desk, i hope you guys like it youtube.com/watch?v=gLw6HvIGaWY

  • I've got the same motherboard, it's very hackintosh compatible

  • I'm not doubting your decision or anything, but i would have gone with a RAID 1 with those SSD's because i have read countless reveiws from several SSD's complaining that they had failed within 1 month.

  • how is the Temps on there? it seems to be boxed up and no vents in it.

  • 4 screen porn nice!

  • nice set up

  • where do u shop for these i cant find most of them

  • Lol, by any chance were you talking about using RAM previews in AE when you were talking about your memory being 95% full. I get that, I have 4 gigs which gets filled easily in AE.

  • This is really a very nice idea! a PC indegrated in a desk.. but 4 monitors? really??!?

  • this guys has enough NOS to blow himself up, period

not a bad way to spent 10 thousand dollars....

  • what had your complete pc cost ???

  • Must be a bitch to go lanning with 'That Desk'. :)

  • what the the fuck fuck, that's incredible

  • u should have done a build video of that desk'

  • I Love You!!!

  • dude that is fricken awsome

  • actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, learn to talk

  • @mmmMarkyyyy I would like to see you build something like this though.

  • Omg i just had a nerd orgasm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gpu mater tu for video redering

    whith cuda !!

    get real

  • 4 gig heat sync ram cards are cheap as hell on ebay!

  • @RedCodeStudios And even cheaper on Newegg!

  • @TheVidalis Errm, why did you mention that, just wondering

  • How do you use 4 monitors?

  • @HybridPineapple There are 2 graphics cards in there, but a lot of ati cards can also run that many displays on their own.

  • @UnknownLobster Does that mean I could use a 5770 as a primary, and a old 9000 for the other monitors?

  • @HybridPineapple Sometimes there are problems with drivers, but you can certainly try. I believe for a while i was using a 2900 and a 5xxx with no problems.

  • @UnknownLobster There's one that can run 6 on it's own, now that's an insane card

  • Dude this thing is awesome.

  • why dnt u jsut go AMD , i mean performance is quite as good but u can get a 6 core 3.2 Ghz and kick it up to 4 for about 250-300 bucks

  • @popdodle Have you looked at the performance of that $250 6 core processor? The Intels are not only more powerful, but they are also clearly the better value. And for this sort of work even the much more expensive intel 6 core is something to consider.

  • @UnknownLobster the amds are hotters than intels

  • @UnknownLobster I have a ZOTAC GeForce 9400 GT :)

  • @joselovesPCs Sorry, but those have been transferred to another system for use.

  • Cool man i got the same board as you on my newest CPU. Then again my computer isnt a desk.

  • @darkgamerdave It's a really old dell, there's absolutely nothing special about it. It's on a special mount i made to get it into portrait mode, but there are plenty monitors that ship with adjustable stand that do the same thing.

  • @darkgamerdave Both the portrait 17" and 24" to the left are dells. The top monitor is a Hanns-G (the same I used for the cinematograph) and the big ones a westinghouse.

  • Damn prices were cheap for you, that $600 went a long way lol. I wish prices were like that in England.

  • @Lil306 Yea, Well i think it was $600 plus the money I made from selling the stuff I won (primarily the $1000 Intel i7 extreme)

  • @Lil306

    try ebay.....

  • @Armaangandevia1

Without a doubt, one of my best friends at working with computers

  • @Lil306 They can be, if you know where to spend your money ;D

  • +1 SUB! AWESOME!

  • Should of got a Mac

  • @BarnabyTV lololol macs are for nooooooobs

  • is it just me or did i just see a dentyne ice pack off fome inside the computer desk thing?

  • I'm pretty sure I want to have your babies.

  • man i love this thing hope you dont mind me copying your idea

  • What mouse pad is in the video?

  • you inspire me. now i want to go out and do stuff like this but i dont know how to start so i guess i will never do anything.

  • Imagine what you could do with all the space inside of that thing? I would probably put like 4 extra fans in that thing just to fill in the extra space, and throw in maybe 4 tb of memory on that thing

  • That desk is perfect = O

  • we have the same chair. by far the most comfortable for the price

  • this is just MOTHERFUCKING GREAT!!!!!! i just subscribet to you :p

  • If I only had the budget for this type of creativity. I could build it, but I would not use it. My son would probably puke on it. :S Your Motivational, I will continue to fix cheap labtops, broken lcd tv's and furnace's. Props to you

  • When it comes to vid cards you can be really surprised when I tell you that video cards are going to be the future when it comes to converting and handling videos in general. With that I mean, only the vidcards will handle the videos because they usually have more than 240 cores while cpu's have less than 8. (for now)

I forgot what the encoding with vid cards was called.

  • @Datastreamx Indeed, but for the time if your on a budget the cpu is a greater priority. Actually CS5 has done some cool stuff- I've enabled my 9800's to do hardware acceleration and it definitely helps. Had cs5 come out before this upgrade I would probably have invested a bit more on the GPU's.

  • bro....you're THE MAN!!!!! lol damn!

  • "The Desk" is pure quality.

Now with components being so small, you should build "The Chair"

  • can you do a full overview of the desk

  • How did you take s picture of The Desk with a white background?

  • Hey Bro nice work i just have one question for you can you tell me how you got that other screen to show your preview window from your video editing software? be cool if you can share that with me thanks.

  • @Zakkiel1 Adobe premiere has that option. If you go to Sequence Settings >Playback settings you'll see the option to display real time playback on an external device, and then simple choose one of your monitors.

  • @UnknownLobster Thanks a lot man

  • I would so like to make a desk like that. That thing is awesome. Couldn't you just put something like the black Drawf in the desk?

  • @LarsReviews You mean build in a second computer as a Nas? I suppose, but the black dwarf I wanted to be a standalone thing.

  • Doesn't all that stuff cost shitloads of money?

  • @goeloegoele The desk has gone through like 3 or 4 upgrades. I'm not trying to get a high fps for gaming or something here - investing in some good parts is saving me tons of time for getting real work done. And again, for this upgrade I was still on a budget and all that stuff was a pretty good value.

  • Comment removed

  • A quick google says that several programs can use hardware acceleration in video cards, whereas you said in the video the video cards don't matter for video editing. Perhaps you could leverage some help from cards that offer acceleration?

  • @themitch117 It's definitely getting better, but still you had the money I had for a CPU and GPU, I believe I chose the best combo in that price range - favoring the cpu and amount of ram over the GPU. I also know CS5 is doing some crazy GPU things but if you look at the "GPU effects" bin in earlier versions, you'll realize nobody uses things like "star wipe."

  • dude you rock

  • Just a heads up: OS X is pronounced "Oh Ess Ten". It's a roman numeral, not an alphabetical X.

  • @lazlo5149 Someone else made this comment and at first I felt stupid. Obviously I know X is a roman numeral, but I was wondering where I got if from. I took a local poll and found other people said "Ecks", so maybe its a California thing...

  • Holy crap that has to be the sweetest desk I've seen ever.

  • I was just wondering how you got into case-modding? Where did you learn to weld, use all the desk tools, router etc. Where / how did you learn electronics, etc? This is something I have always wanted to do, however, everything I ever tried to build just fell on it's face. What do you suggest for someone like me?

  • @OGOzone Most of that stuff was self taught. I was in autoshop in high school where I learned a lot (it was basically a free period with tools present, so still self taught.) Search online in forums and stuff and watch video of people doing what you want to do and then if you can just start trying stuff.

  • Dude this is so intense! I hope you don't mind me doing it later in the time in which I live.

  • One GTX260 or a HD5770 would have been better than two 9800GT's. They could've handled all of your monitors.

  • 4GB of RAM is enough for me when I'm editing.

  • @JayMoreProductions While I'm sure most people don't need this much (I really do,) I cant image getting less than 6 if your doing HD video. 8 is really the least I'd recommend.

  • Damn dude you're mucho logo!

  • Hey Unknown, first off, i'm a big fan. Been watching your stuff since Xbox Pro. I recently picked up an i7-930 and after much deliberation picked up the mobo you bought in this video. I wondered if you had any comments on the motherboard itself, or the ram you chose, since i'm currently debating both of those.

  • @Kreiger5 Sorry for the late reply. In case your still interested, Everything is working great. I'm not really overclocking or anything. I love the number of sata ports and the fact that when I start getting usb 3.0 I'm ready. I'm sure there's more options now, but I can definitely recommend this setup.

  • Hi, am wondering if an i5 quadcore + 8 GB of Ram will be enough for AVCHD video editing. I am going to build a new computer in next 2 months and I would like to know what's the minimum requirement for the PC specs.

  • @justins01 That should have no problem, I was on a Q6600which I believe is less powerful but was enough to get the job done. 8 gigs would be enough unless your doing really big projects. Remember though you're not just trying to get a high benchmark score, the better the processor, memory speed, and hard drive setup you get could save you a bit of time down the road.

  • @UnknownLobster hey, thanks for the answer. by the way, I really like your vdo. I was watching it like over 5 times already.

  • Great set up Will I can't wait to see next Mod.

Glad to see all your work and I am happy we chatted.

  • wow i always see pictures of this never new you had a channel i bet thats highly distracting! :P

im actually thinking of doing something like this myself

  • What camera are you using to record this video? It looks very nice and sharp. I'm sure those lights you're using help with that. BTW, what are those lights your using?

  • I've been shooting these quick short things on my Sanyo Xacti FH1, which is a great little $400 camera. These particular lights are 65w florecent fixtures I got at costco for $10. They are meant to be outdoor security lights which I adapted with a plug and fitted to an extra tripod.

  • hey man, i like your setup, i plan on making a very similar upgrade for my Digital Prototyping workstation but i'm curious why you chose the it 920 over the Xeon W3520?

  • Thanks. From everything Ive read xeons arent anything special unless you're running two of them, and for the price the 920's pretty perfect.

  • dude you are my hero with case building! Damn!

  • Wow. Awesome setup.

  • You should do case modding as a service. You would make a killing, especially with shipping.

  • whats USB 3.0?

  • It's the new USB 2.0

  • @UnknownLobster - What's the difference?

  • It's faster and offers more power to devices. Nothing really uses it yet but I'm sure things should be rolling out with it soon, so it's certainly nice to have on board.

  • @UnknownLobster - Ah, thanks for pointing that out. Much appreciated.

  • i like your mod

  • Normally I think these comments are lame. But I think your the the first "first" I've ever had. Congratulations.

  • why you not use a one good GPU like a GTX260 vor videoencoding?

  • Because they don't help with video encoding really, And I have 4 monitors right now.

  • Awesome stuff

  • Very nice! I love your videos :D

  • your gonna put osx on that, arent you?

    the parts are comptible.

  • Nope, I really hate OSX, The OS Xbox Pro should be the only computer I ever build that will run it.

  • You prefer Premiere to Final Cut? I'm just asking rather than expressing incredulity of any kind. It would be good to know. Why Premiere?

  • In high school when most people started out on iMovie and final cut I started using premiere. I've never not been able to do something that the final cut people were doing and often times seemed to do things with greater ease. So there was really never any reason for me to pay more for a system with far greater compatability issues. Remember if u dont like premiere you can try a number of other programs including vegas and avid.

  • Sounds logical! I use Windows and Mac equally. Windows 7 milky white screened on me and perma-erased 6gigs of files that retrieval software couldn't get back; I'd been dragging and dropping, accidentally dropped onto VLC player; this was Win 7 RC tester rather than RTM but still... days of my life and money that I won't get back. 7 RTM seems stable. I dual boot with Snow Leopard, don't experience W7 occasional slow downs. I need both though. Premiere I could use cross platform, which appeals.

  • wow,

I want to see the Vids you edit with all of these upgrades

  • Awesome

  • If you were to remake the desk, what things would you change on it?

  • Thats a good question. Probably the only big thing is drop the depth of it down a bit. I made it so the 5.25" drive bays sat vertically, thinking back that was probably not the best decision. I've gotten use to it but a thinner desk would feel a bit more natural, and I could loose a few inches and still fit everything i could possibly want in. I would also probably make it a little bigger- the desktop surface is 2'x4', and you may notice the 32" hanging off the edge a bit.

  • In addition to making it longer to fit the

32" for example; would you go for anymore depth? Like 2' 1/2' - 3'? Or, do you find that it's more than enough room to comfortably type/work on?

  • Of course its always covered with stuff, bit its definitely comfortable. An extra 6-12" might be a good idea though. I also have the original monitors on a custom mount that attaches at the very back of the desk, so that gives me a little extra room to slip things underneath that would normally be blocked by a monitor stand.

  • All your projects have been amazing, so kudos on all the hard work. I've been following your work for a good bit and you really show the cool things that a really good modder can do. Do you think you will ever do another version of the desk, or will you just keep upgrading the existing one?

  • Thanks! That would be really cool, and I'm sure one day I will. But since this little refresh it should be good for quite a while, and I do have other ideas that I think I want to get to first.

  • do you game at all?

  • Not really, I have a 360 that I play very few games on. If I did I would probably build a computer specifically for gaming.

  • man, so this is all for video editing?

  • Well, it's my primary computer so also use it for regular stuff like watching movies and surfing the web of course.
