  • freakfull wall of knobs, these sounds are.. a feast for ear and mind, but mostly I like it slow

  • this sounds like copterjuice dripping from a flux capacitor

  • Have you put water onto the synthesyzor? This may be dangerus fro electricitee?

  • toilet bowl plops

  • Damn, this synth is amazing.

  • r2d2 was made on the littel brother of this synth the Arp 2600

  • your beautiful water sounds just started to turn into...bluuurppp bluuuur wwwwaaaruuu...then they're back.

Wonderful utilization of a modular, not just fucking blooping and blurping, something creative.

  • you could spend days tweaking that thing ! Best to take some food with you or you might waste away !

  • That looks so much fun! Such sound capabilities.

  • Couldn't ask for more tweaking!

  • Amazing machine..!! Excellent sequence and sounds.

  • bleep!!!

  • El musico jean michel jarre uso este tipo de instrumentos musicales los syntetizadores...

  • talking about starwars im pretty sure they used a synth like this to make certain noices like the R2D2 robot

  • @gix500 a smaller one by the same maker, ARP

  • WANT!

  • Man, that machine is huge! How much does something like that cost?

  • Why do you people have to make me feel like I need to spend 20,000$ on one of these? Because I swear to god, I will someday. You can spend yours on an automobile.

  • :D yes ....i wold spend on these too ;)

  • god I wish I had one of these. .

  • It remembers Kraftwerk's "Morgenspaziergang", doesn't it? Superb!

  • it sounds like the movie explorers when the boys where in the space ship when the giant ball like creature robot came in the tunnel.

  • Or maybe we're trekking through some ancient subterranean extra-terrestrial spacecraft.

  • Pumped it through some Modded Reverb on my end...very cave like. I like it.

  • 1:37 R2D2 smokes its first joint.

  • @rodolphesimon Yeaaahhhhhh

  • Fantastic ! :)

  • deeply realistic.........water must be jealous

  • It sounds like the time someone spilled coke on the piano at my church lol

  • Do you use any additional equipment for reverberation or delay etc.?

    Wonderful waterlike sound!

I will work hard to be able to afford a modular some day.

  • i think theres reverb in the 2500, im not sure, because i havent got one :-)

  • sounds like the leak I had on my plumbing a couple of months ago.

  • amazing machine!

  • To think there were only about 100 of these ever made. With everything working, they sell today for the same, or more, then they did over 30 years ago. And look at the more popular 2600 selling for 3-times what it did back in the day. Just goes to show how much fun weird noises can be!!

  • WHAT A MONSTER OF A SYNTH!!! Its beautiful!!! And that water sounds so real!!!

  • The panel with the green lights flashing as they light, flowing downward is the sequencer. But there is more to this then the senquencer. the main sound elenmets are created by a PINK NOISE GENERATOR! This is beyond way cool!

  • is the sequencer that little panel with the buttons?

  • The panel with the buttons is the mix sequencer. It is a mixer that can be sequenced. When the light is on, that input is open. In combination with the main sequencer you can make the 10 x 3 sequencer 30 steps long. Stuff like that

  • I prefer this sound of rain to 99% of the electronic music made today.

  • Gorgeous!

  • :-D

a bit of a waste using a 15 thousand pound plus piece of kit to just play s&h routed to filter and env "water" effects, but heigh ho.

  • Erm, you make it sound like that's ALL he does.

Doesn't have to be used for musical use, synths weren't intended to be musical instruments when they first came out, but merely sound exploration tools. ;)

  • Mate, as you said, when they FIRST CAME OUT :-D

Having owned and used most of the heavy duty modulars myself, this kind of stuff is patch-book "stock", and musically can be knocked out in 5 minutes using even a roland system 100 modular- which i still own. Trust me on this..seriously.

  • Let him make what he wants no matter how basic it is, just sounded like you're trying to say he knew fuck all about synthesis. Besides, some the good sounds don't need shitloads of patch cables or knob twisting.

You can make this on most synths that's aren't even modular either (since most follow the same principles of subtractive synthesis), so I don't get the point you're trying to come across with that.

  • the only thing I dont understand here is why are YOU taking this all so personally? Chill winston, the whole purpose of a comments box is to allow people to say whatever they want. Im not being derogatory, but stating an opinion which is tied in to my years of experience as a profesional musician and producer , as well as a user and owner of various synthesiers old and new. :-D

  • I'm not taking this personally at all. But I do admire your arrogance. ;)

  • :-D

Thanks for the back-handed compliment bro.

  • Cheers. I don't mean to be a twat, just can be a bit confrontational, that's all.

  • No problemo, I used to be like that once..life has a habit of knocking it out of you with time :-D

  • Bom D+!!!!!

    ;)

  • The Arp2500 does actually look a lot more scientific than its' rock'n roll-sibling the 2600. Thanks for sharing!

  • Great job, beautiful machine!
