@KingdomOfThebes "You stinking Africans"? Are you referring to Egyptians too? They live in Africa. All you can do kick and scream. But there's nothing you can do about Ethiopia using it's own resources. It's a sovereign country. Ethiopia has the high ground in this argument - figuratively and literally. Tell Egyptians to stop thinking with the mentality of their former colonial rulers.
After reading the comments on this page i'm absolutely convinced that Africa deserves to be the poorest continent in the world. We'll never develop as long as we're too busy destroying each others' already sickly statuses.
Is it just me, or is anyone else wondering how it was possible for people to live THOUSANDS of years ago without damming up the Nile or cutting off the river supply...but in today's times of "modern technology", no one seems to understand how to live in harmony with nature...let alone build temples & pyramids from pure granite stone blocks- that weighed tons...
"no one seems to understand how to live in harmony with nature"
You used a computer to write that comment. You dont understand the issue really any more than the next person.
"let alone build temples & pyramids from pure granite stone blocks"
We know many methods used for moving those blocks with technology, and we have proven that many were used in order to build the pyramids. If you have deep pockets, you can do a lot with pulleys and ramps.
LOL! The computer is not the problem...it is the collective mindset of the people who control the industries utilized in its creation. BTW...There have been many with "deep pockets" who have attempted to replicate with "pulleys and ramps" what was done THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO without such devices...and their only acheivements were complete and utteral failure. So, apparently, it takes more than what YOU (in a charateristic display of LEFT brain dominance) have suggested.
"There have been many with "deep pockets" who have attempted to replicate with "pulleys and ramps" Then give me one example. If someone tried to make a full sized pyramid, and wrote a check too, you should have no challenge finding it.
"So, apparently, it takes more than what YOU (in a charateristic display of LEFT brain dominance" Yeah, because the dominant side of the brain somehow dictates intelligence. (sarcasm)
LOL! You could have simpy did a web search for that answer. But seeing that you're also deficient in other areas...try the Nippon Corporation in Japan (circa 1978).
BTW...you can simply search "How was the Great Pyramid Built Unknown by Japanese Research.MP4 " on Acadamy 24's page and watch that vid for a brief overview.
"LOL! You could have simpy did a web search for that answer"
Its called "burden of proof", try googling it.
"BTW...you can simply search"
I looked at it. If your idea of a large scale attempt at recreating a pyramid is a 60 foot high mini by a small group of japanese workers, then you really need to get some common sense.
a Small japanese team over a short time does not equal the efforts of an entire ancient empire using slaves over decades of work.
Please, before you respond, research the functions of the left-hemisphere of the brain. Once you realize that you are left brained, then pay attention to the left-brained society that you're in. Finally, IF & ONLY IF you decide to take steps to use your entire brain...that is both the left and right hemispheres integratively...THEN I welcome your suggestions because you will have BEGAN to awaken (not mastered) to the mental capabilites exhibited by the people of those times.
"Once you realize that you are left brained" I'm right handed, i have known this for a long time.
"Finally, IF & ONLY IF you decide to take steps to use your entire brain" Everyone does. Havent you seen a map of brain activity? You really do not know anything about the brain do you? Let me ask you this. Are you right or left handed? "BEGAN to awaken" Then demonstrate it. You'll win a nobel prize (along with a million bucks)
You're still giving left brained responses... I can tell you but because of your left brain dominance, you're not going to realize what you're being told. (Allow me to stimulate the right hemisphere of your brain, briefly...)
Imagine that you're filming activity in the dark. It is so dark that you can not see your hand in front of your face but you still have to film. HOW WILL YOU SEE THE ACTIVITY, let alone, CAPTURE IT ON FILM??? Well, there is thermal imagery...
"You're still giving left brained responses" Which, again, is an irrelevance. it pretty much just dictates what hand you use.
"you're not going to realize what you're being told"
I do. You think that you have mental powers that i do not because you think you have activated an unused part of your brain. I am telling you that its retarded. If it could work that way, than it would be used by every army on the planet. cont.
cont. You then give an analogy which you then pass off of evidence. You never address anything I say either. You repeatedly insist that i dont use all of my brain, which imply somehow invalidates my argument (its actually an ad hominem attack, a well known fallacy)
that allows one the capability to "see" what the "naked eye" can not capture....I am sure that you won't disagree with this example...
NOW...I REALIZE THAT because YOU exhibit LEFT BRAIN DOMINANCE, that to expect you to understand the perspective that I have presented is like giving you a camera to film in the dark without thermal imagery and then expecting you to see everything. This is why I suggested the steps that you've obviously neglected to follow because its obvious
According to Coase Theorem [Economics] Egypt & Sudan will need to pay upper riparian states [Ethiopia, Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda] to allow more water to flow to Egypt. Simply having a "need" as Egypt needs Nile isn't a basis for getting a free ride. We don't demand to get oil that comes from Arabic countries for free just because we need it. Let's trade, water for oil otherwise Egypt, YOU'VE GOT A PROBLEM! Because we're moving to use it whether you agree or not. From TZ with love

Yes, it is. Did you see any part in the documentary where they took either side? They simply presented both sides of the dilemma. On one side, you have the Egyptians talking about how much they like the benefits, and how they are somehow entitled to having that dam. On the other, you have a bunch of people who were displaced, lied to, and then cheated.
Do you need to be told which side is on the wrong?
It is a complecated issue. However, the ethiopian or any other countries, along with these rivers to make this happen ,should not be neglected from their share of the river. It necessary life line for everyone. All of these countries should come to agreement to solve this matter.

By the way Aljazeera Egypt/English you neglected a huge fact:
Evaporation from Lake Nasser is very high:
This is an extremely hot area of the world. Evaporation from Lake Nasser is very high as a consequence and this means a lot of water is lost. Seepage and evaporation accounts for a loss of about 12-14% of the annual input into the reservoir.

U also seem to neglect Ethiopia which contributes around 85% of the water and currently building 5 mega dams on Nile.Poor Egyptian propaganda.
@siryou41 I agree bro, this Aljazeera is a Propaganda network for Egypt & Qatar who are hostile to Africans, especially Nile Basin countries. Ethiopia invited Egypt to sign an agreement to share the Nile for 10 years Egypt rejected this proposal and arrogently declare "Red Line" on the Nile.
We will force them to share, they have no other alternative, Egypt cannot threaten Ethiopia or 8 other Nile Basin countries, last time they attacked us, they lost in 1875 and lost their sovergnty to UK.
@DivertNileRiver you are right, the funny thing is we already cross their so called "Red line" more than five times and they did nothing. We didn't starved to death because of Egypt's threat,it was because of financial problems and our own weakness. For us Egyptian military is not better than the one it used to be in 1875.
Dont be ridiculous. The egyptians told the russians they hated america, and they got a free update. Its is currently a top of the line army..... by 1960s standards. Besides, ethiopia is kind of like the russia of africa. Anyone marches in to annex the place, and they die trying.
@siryou41 That's why Egyptian diplomatic delegations have been visiting Nile basin countries recently afther the revolution. But this is more an issue for (hydro-)engineers to tackle rather than politicians. If the various stakeholder countries simply coordinate with each other, they should be able to reach some kind of a sustainable agreement for sharing the Nile river. They will have to take each other’s goals and interests in to account though.
