Rozz was very influential in SoCal and the OC during the late 80's. I remember all of us deathrockers wanted to emulate him. We didn't have the internet back then, so we were really glad to get any info on Christian Death when we could get it. I met Rozz three times: he was as nice as pie each time.

He is pretty neutral about it though, spiritual cramp kinda is the opposing view of it IMO. I love watching and hearing Rozz sing/perform on these live videos. Although the albums are great too, hearing live recordings is just so much better because the emotions in Rozz voice sound much more raw and pure, it sends chills down my spine. But Rozz isn't racist. Rather, he's pointing out racism - more directly, racism within the white American Christian system that he witnessed as a nipper. He was brought up as a Baptist, I believe.

It's generally the main topic of the album, really, although the true meaning of the song is hard to decipher, as it usually is with Rozz's lyrics. ^^
