Is this Ultra Bass active or passive? The new ones are passive (I think).

The new Ultra Basses have a more traditional headstock giving it more balance. All in all this is a great bass at a reasonable price. Schecter bass are one of music worlds best kept secrets.

The balance isn't the greatest due to the big headstock (hence why they changed it in 06') But if you play using a wider, and lower hanging strap, you can barely notice it.

Thats the 2005 model, the only year with the headstock the way it was. I think they stopped production in 2008, so who knows, it may become a valued guitar in the future. I love mine to death. Everything is great about it. I'm thinking about throwing some flat wounds on mine to see how it sounds.
