You should zoom a little more to get the recursive effect that is so nice in fractals, now it just seems you took a giant picture of a fractal and was just gliding over it. It's pretty, but there's no actual fractal "magic".
Beautiful! This is one of the best fractal videos I've seen on YouTube (and I've seen a lot!) The colouring of the Pickover stalks is perfect - reminds me of the glowing landscapes of Tron :)
Lol, what do you expect? Iterating some function is easy - making it look good is the hard part, and I am often surprised at the ugly colors in some fractal animations. This one on the other hand is the best one I have seen, by far.
Thanks for the 'Pickover stalks' tip, i really appreciate it. I think there has been many effort put into rendering the deepest zoom ever of the Mandelbrot set, but all outside the "bug", not a single one _within_ it ;)
Great music choice by the way. Would be interesting as well to know wheter you are using CUDA or something similar. (Sometimes I just ask too many questions)
a un careta no le gusta esto jajaja muy buen video y el audio..

You went to far with effects. The clean deep zooms are the best.

zoom or no zoom, these are some of the most beautiful images of this kind I have seen!

Silly question, what are Pickover stalks? I have decent general knowledge of the mandelbrot, or so I thought.

Insane colors!!! Add zoom and you'd have the perfect Mandelbrot trip!

Worst funny home video ever.
Also, I demand an interactive version.

@happynobody I can't go deeper than that with a GPU shader, it runs out of numeric precision... :(

@finalman242 lol ok ok :P

@finalman242 Then scale everything up with increasing zoom so that it fits nicely in a float.

The colors are very good!

Normally I would smack my forehead at such a remarkably dull comment, but through context, I must concur.

No no, I agree; it is for this reason you have the thumbs up. Most videos iterating the Mandelbrot set have a horrible palette.

This is a great example of how GPU's seem uniquely suited to fractals. I can't wait to see how this type of application develops!
