  • Bill, now that jobs is gone, put extra effort in contributing more to education in this country. This nation is hopeless if all students ask questions like int his clip, and gobble gobble on the vague answers like its a bible quote... lol...

  • As for Apple versus Microsoft.... Completely different agendas. Apple will most likely remain with general public market targeting, whereas microsoft will continue pioneering the industrial and defense software applications. Everything in my house made by apple is for entertainment purposes. In my professional surroundings microsofts presence is undesputed.

  • I also like how Bill never gives a direct answer and half midway of each answer drifts away and talks on a completely unrelated topic. I doubt he does that unaware. Everyone is so intrigued with his complicated grammar and unusual word combinations. Way to master the speech spectrum of business ;) lol.

  • I like how the students go on babbling their question as if they are talking to a moron, constatntly paraphrasing their questions and freaking out the same time. lol.

  • is bill a democrat cause republican tend to not go into detail with questions bill is a open book O.O

  • Hey bill do you use the ipod or the zume XD

  • if apple didnt run either company in a monopoly instead let other companies like hp dell etc use mac os like windows does then mac could fight with windows for dominance

  • MAc and PC i say

    Windows and Mac iOS

But people like windows on there PC

  • why does people hate mac sometimes?

  • Fling, You nailed it.

  • who gives a shit what he sounds like or what he acts like or how he moves his hands SHUT THE FUCK UP you couldnt EVER be as smart as Bill and niether could I. deal with it

  • Bill Gates = Brilliant mind

    Steve Jobs = Extraordinary mind

    Me = nevermind

  • @MrBBQification How is Steve Jobs and "extraordinary mind"? He never donated to charity public, while Bill Gates donated millions of dollars, even to Apple Computers.

Bill takes time to build powerful OS for powerful PCs, while Steve built bad OS which can't do jackshit for overprized PCs with little-to-no capacity whatsoever.

  • @CookieTheEpic First of all... what does donating money have anything to do with somebody's state of mind? Obviously Steve Jobs didnt make shitty OS because if he did, Apple wouldn't be where it is today. Also your second part makes zero sense. Microsoft doesn't give two shits about their software and what does Steve Jobs building "bad OS" have to do with a PC? Essentially, you just said PC's are "powerful" and "overpriced" and have no capacity all in one. L2 get your shit straight.

  • @tkyo1234 Yeah quality has everything to do with sales, not advertising. The very first release of Win95 must have been better because it sold more? Or they spent more money advertising it than any other product in history. The iPhone went the same way.

Coca-cola loses to Pepsi in all taste tests, yet wins out in sales. They also spend far more on advertizing.

  • @tkyo1234 "PC" means "personal computer", you fucktard! Macs are just as much PCs as are Windows PCs. Just try to install iOS on a self-built- high-end computer! Dumbass...

  • @CookieTheEpic There's nothing personal about Macs. You only buy the ability to use a very locked up set of programs in a locked up machine and you cant really personalize anything about it...

With a PC you can change everything. Wanna paint your graphics card in purple? No problem.

  • @CookieTheEpic iOS is locked down so that only Mac's can install it. Don't believe me, then try and install on your very own "self-built- high-end computer"

  • repor excellent

  • I love the mention of Botswana!

  • Bill Gates is alive because Steve Jobs never donated a penny.

  • @GODismyPENIS Steve Jobs never donated publicly.

  • His hands move around like he is playing a piano. And then moves on to being a DJ in between.

  • Bill Gates is always so boring...

  • @Clarensee no he's not you are

  • @MrNeil1030 Get serious. If not for being noted for his wealth, you wouldn't notice Gates in an elevator if you two were the only ones momentarily occupying it.

  • Comment removed

  • Bill Gates is a traitor. Sending our money to other countries!!!!!!.

  • @aqualane1 You're trying to be funny but you fail.

  • bill gates is a good person

  • Apple did not get that popular before the Ipod...

Steve jobs said himself that Bill Gates invented the flow of the software that apple needed. and that Steve's boss or whatever (check the story) did not want to get into what Bill was working on.

And then they started to cooperate... which makes me sick of the fact that apple actually spoofed Microsoft's vista and such, after a so productive and company-saving (both sides) cooperation.

  • Can somebody help me to find the letters of Warren Buffett which mentioned at 4.52. thanks.

  • I wouldn't say i was a fan boy, but Ii don't see anything apple does better than Microsoft, from my experience anyway.

  • @inconsistanttruth wrong and right, Apple is much better at marketing and making things appear better then it really is.

  • @EmilxLollipop both companies are great at making things appear better then they are alot of people forget about vista looked great on paper was great in reality was horrible then on apples side the iphone looks great but is so simplistic its a utter bore to use

  • @inconsistanttruth I enjoy pcs more than macs, but I think that apple has done really well with their mobile devices (ipods, iphones, and ipads) and they are amazing at marketing. I myself have a windows pc, and an apple mobile.

  • @inconsistanttruth Their Ipod and Iphone is better than any Windows based phone. But PC wise, MAC's are inferior to Windows in every way and is VERY overpriced. The only people that buy them are hipster retards, too stupid to know how to use a start bar.

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo not sure what you mean by macs are inferior to windows considering windows do not make pc's they are a software company, where as apple are both.

  • @inconsistanttruth which computers did Microsoft introduce in 1982..83..ever?

Apple had invented a lot of trends.

  • @inconsistanttruth well everything

  • microsoft for games, apply for music, computer programs, movies

  • @JayBee272 I agree Microsoft for gaming for all the rest of your needs ...Linux ..i only like itunes to sell music lol

  • gates looks funny like a pet

  • the voice of Kermit the Frog is the same as is voice

    lolol

  • trollers be trollin'

  • google's gonna take over microsoft and apple soon...just predicting

  • @vibol03 That's a very likely view. Seriously, look at android now.

  • Bill Gates is an extraordinary individual.... He has given billions of dollars, including helping Apple Computer when they needed it the most, all the while, Jobs telling the world that MicroSoft has No Style? No, Jobs has no class.

  • @Flingi2 LOL times 8000. LOL again. Bill Gates did not 'help' Apple... He put money there (and believe me, he gets money back as well) because he knew eventually Apple will get bigger than he could imagine. Bill Gates is a genius. No doubt of that. So was Steve Jobs. With the difference Jobs had the perfect combination of taste and technology on his head. Microsoft is not 1/16 part of the KIND of company Apple is. So, LOL again.

  • @fmluisito

"Microsoft is not 1/16 part of the KIND of company Apple is" yeah, Microsoft isn't a religious sect

  • @alexgrinkov hehehe yes, you are right. Now go to sleep safe and happy :D

  • @fmluisito Gates sold code to Steve back in the day. They have a very close relationship.

  • @fmluisito microsoft isnt doing too bad i thought...

  • @fmluisito Sad to see idiots like you minimizing Microsoft. Bill's company has +90% market share of personal computers (software only, as MS DO NOT produce hardware besides ZUNE and XBOX). Jobs WAS a megalomaniacal asshole that got thrown off his own company, and neglected his FIRST daughter (to the point of saying he was infertile). Bill IS a better human being in much ways, he is clearly is smarter and business savvy that that idiot Jobs. Macniacs are brainless cultists with no personality.

  • @Chitoxin I guess that coming from the master of them (you), 'idiot' is a compliment. But getting serious here, Gates has done an amazing job. But Jobs was far better at vision, merging tech+art, and was able to get his company higher than MS without monopolistic behavoir like Gates did. I rest my case. From now on, what ever lets sleep at night happy its fine with me ;)

  • @fmluisito Nice answer... coming from a cultist with no freewill like you. If MS would've wanted to develop hardware you can bet your year salary he would have done it way better than Apple. BG's benevolence allowed Apple to survive by giving them 150 millions so that they could get out of the mess they were in. They both took chance of others inventions, but only BG made the correct business decision. Besides, if MS is soooo bad, why Apple alowed an MS Office version for their computers?

  • @Flingi2 get angry son. congrats on insulting a dead man u dic

  • @Flingi2 microsoft needed apple to succeed b/c of antitrust laws they were going to violate if apple collapsed. microsoft would have been broken up and it would have been a disaster.

  • @Flingi2 you obviously don't know a damn thing about Jobs. Bill Gates did "help" Apple but not because he's a nice guy but because licensing software to Apple was good business. Jobs and Gates have always talked smack about one another in public despite their business relations. Gates would mock every new idea Jobs would come up with...boy was he wrong. Educate yourself before you judge people.

  • @ratmbott727

And how does that conflict with what Flingi said? Jobs was a grade A douchenozzle who made a crap ton of money off of Woz's Apple computer, never gave a dime to charity, and got fired from his own company for being an ass. Jobs's ideas were technologies that already existed and cost less, but with a new, flashy, Apple logo, a white paint job, and rounded corners. Ooh! What an innovator! [/sarcasm]

  • @ultramerton How does what conflict? Yeah, your right, Apple's small logo is so flashy. You are clearly not worth arguing with. Anyone with a sense of design, quality, knowledge of software or hardware technology, or with a sense of usability would appreciate his innovations even if they dislike him as a person. You are what Steve Jobs would call, a shit head.

  • @ratmbott727

lol... you're funny. I'm a web specialist (GNU/Linux system administration, network administration, graphic design, programming, etc.), so I think I have adequate knowledge of technology. Furthermore, I actually know the history of the personal computer, Apple, and Steve Jobs, and guess what? He didn't make any technological innovations: the Apple computer was Woz, the GUI was Xerox, Mac OS was a pile of crap finally replaced by BSD, iPods weren't the first digital music players,

  • @ultramerton No, jobs did not invent the music player, smartphone, or tablet and yes, Woz invented the personal computer. So what? You obviously don't know what innovation is. An innovator is different from an inventor. Jobs took Woz's computer, Xerox's GUI, then combined and built on features he believed were the future (he was right). He took existing products and made them better, thats what innovators do. You say you know the history of Apple and Jobs but you think Jobs was only a marketer?

  • @ultramerton As a "web specialist", which is a term I despise (I'm a web designer), you should know what innovation is but clearly you don't. I'm not going to talk about Job's financial decision because I'm not here to talk about his personal life. I don't care if he gave his billions to charity or if he spent it on turtle neck shirts. I admire creative, innovative, and intelligent individuals and he was one of them. You said he was not innovative and that's what Im defending.

  • @ratmbott727

He didn't make anything better though, which was my point. He made products less functional than competing devices (except for Mac OS, which had no competition because they got it directly from Xerox), dressed them up all fancy, and sold them at an obscene markup. Hell! He didn't technically _make_ anything, as I've already illustrated. He's the epitome of closed systems and intellectual property, which stifle innovation. I mean, what more do you need?

  • @ultramerton Are you for real. The Mac O.S. come from the Unix kernel not Xerox. Second the PARC Star look was very crude with its icons and had no embedding at all. Then we look at the Apple I and II, the first computer built for the public in a damn garage.

Bill Gates did what. He lied or bluffed IBM for a seat at the table with nothing, he had to run out and buy it. Then he told Steve Jobs he was his friend, then turned around and stole from him. He stole from Netscape. Bill Gates the thief

  • @WizzRacing

Not exactly. Mac OS X is a version of BSD, but the first GUI was developed by Xerox, shown to Jobs, and served as the "inspiration" for the original Mac OS. This really has nothing to do with the creation of the Apple computer by hacker genius Steve Wozniak though.

Bill Gates is a programmer who has made a lot of money and gives gobs of it back via his charity organization. There are valid reasons to criticize him and M$, but he's nowhere near as horrible a person as Jobs was.

  • @ultramerton So you support lying, stealing, cheating and revenge for success! Just so long as you give someone a job or pass out a little money. That is scary when people support such behavior.

I might add your ignorant about Apple. Unix is BSD and Mac uses it's version. So stop dancing around it. You got caught making shit up below. Steve Jobs and Wozniak did create the first mass produced P.C. for the public and that is a fact!

  • @WizzRacing

Dude... you need to slow down a bit. I said there are valid reasons to criticize Gates. How do you jump from that to I "support lying, stealing, cheating," etc.?

UNIX is not BSD, BSD is a variant of UNIX (separate but related). Furthermore, Mac OS wasn't BSD until OS X; it's the older versions of Mac OS that were created by Apple and spearheaded by Jobs after the sneak peek from Xerox. Also, Jobs had nothing to do with the creating of the first Apple computer, that was all Woz.

  • @ratmbott727

Oh, and I felt the same way about the "Web Specialist" title for a while too. Now, I actually prefer the term because I'm not just a designer: my main area of expertise is Open Source programming and GNU/Linux system administration, which people don't get when they hear the word, "designer."

  • @ultramerton Good point, Design is not just visual, beautiful code is beautiful just as with design. It's a bit nerdy I admint but I also believe there is beauty in a properly administered system or at least one that is structured creatively. Creativity in design is not just expressed via pixels or ink

  • @Etcher

Oh, absolutely. I _love_ organizing data, planning database and file structure, creating clean and easy-to-read code, etc. Computer languages are still languages after all, we just have our unique spin on poetry. :P

  • nor were iPhones the first smartphones. So, what did Jobs do exactly?

Jobs was a marketing genius: he took inferior technology, put on an elaborate show, and conned every Apple fantard out of his or her money. And his "innovations" were way more expensive than devices already available with far more functionality. And what did he do with that money? Oh, that's right... he sat on it. He was a douchebag, and you're an ignorant douchebag for defending him.

  • @Flingi2 i would not say that jobs have no style.. But your right in one thing.. No one got anything on Gates.. he did great things..

  • @Flingi2 You are like most people I know. They say Bill Gates did great things. He stole, lied, forced out of business more people and companies then anybody else I can name, short of political hacks.

I heard so many people that worked close with him say don't cross him or he will destroy you! This guy is worshiped like the second coming of Jesus Christ and he created nothing. He just copied or stole what he wanted, because he was eat up with success at any cost. It called situational ethics.

  • @Flingi2 and he sounds like Kermit The Frog.

  • 3billion a year........... thats like a few million a day. i spend my money fast i could prolly use that

  • what is the largest robotics company in europe? I didn't catch the name

  • Steve Jobs created the computer.

Bill Gates created the software to run it.

  • @mauridaherg That's not even a tiny bit true haha

  • @PhinlaxXD Entirely true, as a matter of fact. Or is there a Windows computer?

  • @mauridaherg Neither of them invented anything, they just innovated them.

    You are totally wrong.

  • @mauridaherg Your statement is still false. IBM had computers long before Steve Jobs. Steve jobs was a co-creator in the first PERSONAL computer. There were operating systems available prior to Mr. Gates' software as well. In fact, the first version of DOS wasn't invented by Bill Gates, but purchased and re-licensed.

  • I think Bill Gates is the voice of Kermit the Frog

  • @ratmbott727 so do i

  • @ratmbott727 - (in Ancient Samuari Style Voice) You Insult the Kermit.

  • @ratmbott727 that's his fulltime job... he started microsoft as a hobby

  • his success is desire of many people

  • R.İ.P Steve Jobs

  • I used OS X many years ago and it's very good. I then switched to PC and never looked back.

But, I've also used Linux and it rocks! I do video editing and if Linux had a very good NLE program, I would definitely switch full time to Linux. For now, pc has my business. Mac is way to expensive for my taste.

  • @defnyung LiEnucks is a piece of shit, Macs are Scams. Windows FTW, puppet.

  • VERY difficult questions to answer.

  • any hater of apple that i've known are basically people who never had a mac!!

  • @sushirollerboarder I don't hate Apple. They're a fine company but they're too expensive for what their components actually cost. I would much rather build my own rig and dual boot OS X with 7 for the best of both worlds.

  • @xAdventFilms

    15" MBP: $1900

    HP laptop: $800

Same specs (CPU, HDD, GPU, etc).

  • @BattlePikeQueerLucy Yeah...why have you told ME this and not the person I just illustrated the same point to.

  • @xAdventFilms I was just strengthening your point.

  • @MrPhrizno You Bet!

  • @pikachuify23 RIP indeed, but I think you misread the video title.

  • @DiClivity

    A. Oh, sorry, Microsoft does indeed only hold 86.57% of the OS market. However, in the last year, Apple OSs have gained only 1%, not 4%.

    B. I don't have to support my accusations, as I didn't make any.

C.I'm not a "PC fanboy." I think all operating systems suck equally. For you to call me ignorant and naive is remissive and meaningless, as I doubt you even took the time to read the post I replied to in the first place.

  • @DrAwesome109 Yea they own 86.57% of the market but in 2002 they owned over 95% of the market, you figure over less than 10 year apple has captured almost 10% more of the market, its monumental.

  • @sabian1hhx1only

I'm not sure what you're getting at. In 2002, Microsoft did hold around 95%. As of today, Macintosh OS holds 6%. If you're including iOS, for the iPhone, iTouch, iPad, and all the iPods, which is nearly 3.3%, that totals 9.3%, but not quite 10. So, 86.6% + 9.3% = 95.9%, the other 4.1% are Java, Linux, Unix, and Android OSs. I don't understand how they could have captured 10 more percent if they hold less than 10% now. Apple has gone up, Microsoft has gone down, but not by much.

  • Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.

A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.

Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.

    "Bill Gates"

  • @toma804 LOL!

  • I think that microsoft is more popular in the industry and in many homes in general. but i bet if you asked any person in america if they would trade their PC for macs 1 out of 10 people would turn it down... and the reason is... well no one has a reason it is just apple. they have a better OS and vista kinda hurt microsoft's rep when it came to quality products... i have a macbook pro and windows 7 on it and i must say... can microsoft run mac?

  • @MrFishguy4 totally disagreed. Why would you run Mac Os on Microsoft when Microsoft already has all the programs that Mac have and even better and much more variety?

Simply put, Mac has all the "pretty" appeal. Microsoft has all the practical appeal. and i am typing this from a Mac with alot of regrets.

  • @xKiraKirinx Because Mac does it better. it has better staff better quality better... everything pretty much. microsoft runs on 10100101000101000101001010101 and could get shit loads of viruses. i am not saying macs are perfect but the only virus i have EVER heard of was "the bad bunny" virus (Look it up) and i don't know if THAT one is even real

  • @MrFishguy4 The reason why Macs don't have viruses is because Macs are such a small blip on the number of computer users, it's not worthwhile writing viruses for them. It's well known that Macs are easier to infect than Windows PCs, but there just aren't enough macs to make it worthwhile.

  • @theotherdoomguy Mac's do not have viruses because of not a lot of consumers? so the hackers don't really think mac's are that big of a investment so they turn a blind eye huh? that is very ignorant and sort of stupid. because i am sure if you watched a apple keynote that there products (Phones Alone) are dominating the market. there computers are high priced i'll give you that. however Mac's are extremely More "High Performance" all OS are basically applications in themselves. Apple's is better

  • @MrFishguy4 This is simply wrong. There exists viruses for OS X just like Windows, and they can potentially ruin the OS just as with Windows. Go search a bit before you talk about things you clearly know nothing about.

And yes, Windows gets move viruses, spyware etc. because it's a bigger platform. There's really no question about it. Even if iPhone are huge, it doesn't mean OS X is compared to Windows.

If you want to talk about high performance, you should look to Linux or Unix.

  • @kjeksomanen If you read my comment you would know that i said that there are viruses that mac's are susceptible to. I.E. the bad bunny virus. so I guess i am saying besides the fact that it cannot run some windows apps i believe that mac's are something most people (obviously not you) strive to get. If you want to talk quality products why don't you search "Blue Screen Of Death" and tell me windows is perfect. Mac OSX is what windows 8 wants to be. they will NEVER accomplish that

  • @MrFishguy4 I haven't even mentioned which OS is better here, so why you go about that I don't get. I just said that the fact that Windows got more viruses are more or less just because it's a much bigger platform. Obviously more factors are in the picture, like lots of companies has outdated OS' like XP which are easier to crack etc., whereas a typical OS X-based machine will be up to date all the time.

  • @MrFishguy4 You are really stupid, aren't you? BSoD means that there was a halting problem, and the computer crashed. Guess what problem there is NO solution to, on ANY platform? You guessed it. Macs are more than capable of getting the same problem, and they get it in about the same frequency.

Only difference is you don't hear about it, because, I said it before, YOU GUESSED IT, MAC OSX HAS LESS THAN 9% OF COMPUTER USAGE IN THE WORLD!!! YAY!

Get your facts straight before speaking, kid.

  • @kjeksomanen i said OS are applications also. perhaps i should elaborate. so i got the metaphor when i was using windows and suddenly everything just stopped. it said "Windows Explorer has stoped responding. Close program?" so it seems like windows and mac are just apps. sorry for confusion but hey... we are in a preference war. who gives a crap?

  • @MrFishguy4 Again, I haven't even mentioned OS and it's setup with applications, so you're discussing with yourself here. Read my comment again.

  • @kjeksomanen Ubuntu is slower than XP. I double booted Ubuntu onto XP. It actually made XP faster. Was Ubuntu slower because I double booted it as the secondary? (I fixed the swappiness on Ubuntu and it didn't make a difference)

  • @PSRBF6 So many factors play in, so it's hard to say what the reason exactly is.

  • @xKiraKirinx its about preference, but a computer (mac or windows) is only as good (or smart) as people using them

  • @xKiraKirinx Uhm, Windows dont have the same programs that a mac have.

What about all the apps at app store? Xcode? Final Cut?

Thats just some programs that the mac have and not Windows.

  • @kokomanen we dotn have them cause they suck we have better programs

  • @RcUniverseGuy Does Xcode suck? Does Final Cut suck? Does programs that have been sold for millions of dollars on appstore suck? I don´t think so.

  • @kokomanen XCode is only good if you are planning on iOS programming. For anything else, there is a much better IDE available. Final Cut, I will grant you that, because I know that Macs are better for Video editing, because Final Cut Pro is so good.

  • LOL (I of II part reply)-- you said it! haha

  • Ctrl + W . . .

  • I left Windows Vista and got Ubuntu.

    I left the Xbox 360 and got a PS3.

My technology has never been so reliable and fun.

    Microsoft is a dying brand.

  • @SixFootTallMidget now try win 7

  • @nikosa1997 Vista is Windows 7, I'm not paying for a more compete version of Windows Vista.

I didn't get an Xbox elite after my first two Xboxes.

    I got a PS3.

It saved me money, well it actually paid for its self really, through it's reliability and free online play.

    Microsoft, is....

    A. Dying

    B. Screwing it's customers.

    C. a company that thinks you're stupid.

  • @SixFootTallMidget: You said it!

  • @SixFootTallMidget

No one told you to upgrade to 7.

The first generation of 360s were a partial failure. People still chose it over the

PS2. The 360s still had a warranty. Too bad you didn't take advantage of what it existed for.

    A. Microsoft still dominates over 90% of the operating system market.

    B. Support your accusations.

    C. If you're referring to Apple, that is the company that thinks you're stupid. Apple computers are made for people who can't figure out how to do basic things.

  • @SixFootTallMidget compare the windows 8 slate and ipad. The ipad isn't even a tablet PC which is what it advertises to be. That just proves ipad buyers are stupid and don't know what they are buying. The ipad is a big ipod touch which a few features removed.

  • @SixFootTallMidget: Wow, you nailed it! You tell it as it is and can be for most: wake up people; act!

  • @houstondodgeball knoppix is not designed for that. knoppix was designed to be a boot and fix os. Boot knoppix and save your data, or troubleshoot windows problems, etc... Ubuntu is designed for ease of use and for the average person, you will find it much easier to use. I can watch youtube vid's no problem on Ubuntu.

  • @capngloval thx I've been using Ubuntu for a few months now and I agree with you. I understand you didn't know that and I appreciate your help :)

  • @mymovie3 boy is that not true. Mac Os is as much a "doesn't work out of the box" operating system as Windows is.

  • Check 11:00 and 14:50. It may not always seem like it, but Gates really does understand the value of capitalism to a large degree.

  • Your measured I.Q. on these post areas is proportionate to how many swear words you use or how little you have researched the subject you are commenting on.

So all of you who have sworn like a drunken pirate are roughly in the Forrest Gump area of mental development.

If you are talking out of your hinder about a subject as if you know what your talking about, you make Forrest look like Einstein.

And if you do both then your I.Q. is roughly in the brain dead zone. IMHO.

  • @MrPhrizno I can deny it with cold hard facts. Fact 1, 95% of all fortune 500 companies are running some form of linux on their servers. Fact 2, facebook, twitter, myspace, and most of the internet sites you use are all run on linux based servers. Fact 3, everything from your android based phone to you car, dish washer, microwave, coffee maker and even your toaster (if it's fancy enough) all run on linux.

  • I have been using Linux since 1999/2000. I have also used OpenOffice (now Libre Office) since then as well.

I did not have to pay for Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7. I have not had to pay for MS Office 2000, 2003, 2007, etc...

I have saved about 480 dollars alone, just not buying windows. and I have saved about the same amount not buying MS office.

That's 960 dollars just for those 2 peices of software. you throw in all the time not spent dealing with viruses, and all it has saved me a lot.

  • @capngloval open source: software is only free if your time is worthless.
