  • Its a Sears Sub. Good little tractors.

  • If you want a copy of the service manual then drop me an email with your correct/Email (not your Youtube one.) Cheers from Mick in the UK.

  • Its a Tecumseh OH160.

  • deff techumse

  • its a techumshe

  • Do you happen to still have this engine, my carburrettor is no good also the voltage charging regulator is missing. Been trying to get one in the UK wothout success.

  • old kohlor engine i no i got one

  • im sad to say i scraped this engine because 25 years in the weather with no sparkplug is kinda rough on it.it is running now with a briggs oposed twin 16 with strait pipes. i havent even painted it. i call it the beast or the rat tractor depends on what mood im in

  • @autohead44 My redcat (chinese 4wheeler) sat in my back yard for two years without plugs. Brought it to the garage, put gas in it, battery crank, crank twice...and fired up.

  • It's a old Kohler engine from the late 1950-1960's time frame.

  • a good clone engine would work great on that

  • I have 2 FMC Boeling tractors with that same engine and they are techumseh 14 horsepower.

  • take the head off and put hot motor oil in the cylinder and let it sit for about 5 to 6 mins then try to turn it over but be careful cause you might break the piston rings work it nice and easy bit by bit it may free. if it does then take the oil out of cylinder and dry it completely.

  • looks like an old kohler engine to me we got a wheel horse with an engine that looks bout like that with the side shaft belt drive and same carb set up to.

  • its a massey fergason solid state enngine. looks like it was used in the late 1970's

  • thats a 70 sears ss12

  • @jonboy4662 its a 76-78 st/12 or st/16

  • it is a techumseh engine

  • shroud looks like tecumseh

  • Theres a Davidsfarm video that shows you how to hone your own cylinders with a hand drill, cutting stones, and a shop rag. All you need are probably rings...

  • That tractor, is a roper built sears suburban, its either ans ST/16 or a 16/6.

It has a Tecumseh engine. You should try and get that engine to turn over.

They are tough engines, I have a 1966 suburban 12 with a 12 horse tecumseh.

  • @Searsnut11 So roper built the Sears Suburban, I just received a ST 12 for free it runs but needs a carb, I also have a 16 Twin coming from the same guy also for free. I am into Cub Cadets and John Deers, but I like anything old. Oh and free.

  • what are you going to do with the engine

  • that there is a 1971 sears ss 12 with a cast iron block techumseh or a briggs i got 1 2 but myn is a ss14

  • fuck it this is only stupid pitchers

  • yea its a techumseh 12 hp if it the same as my sears

  • Free Tractor Manuals - Electronic Format ** tractorrepairmanual (dot) net **

  • looks like a tecumseh

  • Your Craftsman machine has a 16hp tecumseh engine. Probably craftsman engine model number: 143.660012. The equivalent Tecumseh number is OH160.170051. I just took those numbers out of my original manual.

I am the original owner of my machine since the mid 1970's. I use it every week. It has a 48 inch mower deck, 36 inch rear rototiller and a 46 inch snow and dirt blade. I'm not sure if it is a great engine but it has sure been good to me. Has an upper and lower range 3 speed transaxle.

  • Your tractor is a Sears ST16. 1973 or 1974 depending on number on the tag. Engine is a Tecumseh model OH160. Overhead valve 16 Horsepower Tecumseh.

  • Some Tecumsehs were junk, but not that one. That is an HH series cast iron engine, and they are good engines; well worth fixing. Take a look at my channel for my Sears Suburban with Tecumseh HH120 (12 hp) that was locked up when I got it. I got it running for less than $20!

  • that is a tecumseh its a late 70s that moter was junk when it was put on

  • It is a tecumseh, unbolt the head and pour some diesel fuel in the cylinder. Rig the fuel lines, replace the wiring as it will probably need it, freshen the oil and filters and it should fire right up.

  • @JtsGreene yes you shuld also remember to clean the points

  • помойка

  • Yes it's a Tecumseh....did ya'll know MOPAR built small engines back then ?? I have two of them,a 5 and an 8 HP.Both of them came of of Sears tractors.

  • hey guys anyone know the song?

  • looks like a Briggs sraton but not exactly sure send me some pics of it i might be able to help

  • you gonna restore it???

  • thats a techumseh i believe and it hink thats a sears surburban or super 12 but nice find lol

  • tecumseh. also, its companies, not companys, i hope youre better at mechanics than english heh

  • One would know that in proper english typing, a sentence begin with a capital letter on the first word, "youre" must be typed "you're", "its" typed "it's" because it means "it is". And then finally, "i" must be a capital letter when you mean the 1st person. I'm not english, I use to speak french and I know that. Just so you know! :-)

  • any updates yet?

  • tecumseh engine i have one its a sears surburban tractor

  • Looks like a Tecumseh

  • he is right. looks like a old sears 10xl

  • the motor looks like a old kohler because the carb looks like a old kohler carb plus the shape of the motor cover

  • its a tecumseh kohler did not make a solid state ignition back then they used points and sears only put tecumseh on there garden tractors back then exept the ss16 which had a onan twin this is a st16

  • this is deff not a kohler. didnt kohler start making solid state ignition in the early 80s. because that is when they came out with magnums. magnums were the stop of all points. and then went to pressurized oil systems and solid state ignition.

  • thats a 16 hp tecumseh the only sears i know they put tecumseh ohv on was the st16

  • yep its a techumseh 12hp and the tractor is a early 70's sears surberan. i know this because when i was growing up my dad had the same thing and now i have it and its the best little tractor ever

  • its not a 12hp tecumseh did not make the 12hp with ohv only the 16hp its a st16 the only one i know of that sears put the tecumseh ohv 16hp on

  • Comment removed

  • Tecumseh did not make an overhead valve 12 horse.

  • its definetly a techumseh

  • IT IS a Techumseh I got 2 one is on a pull mower i made And it pulls Damn goog too..if you would like to see it """go to ::little george pulling::it pulls in the 900LBs class..Good motor !!!!

  • No doubt, thats a Techumseh.

  • Yeah, that is definately a tecumseh. Probably an OH-120 or 12 hp overhead valve engine.

  • You lucky son of a bitch!

    You still have it?

Im pretty sure that old engine is a tecumseh. Did it have a hood on it?

  • I know that engine for sure. Its called a junk engine.

  • i found a old plane wen we dug up are swamp in the side yard

  • shit a little diesel fuel and a few weeks set and ur can unfreeze the motor if nothing is broke in side it

  • i found a ww2 air plane in the woods before

  • THAT IS A Tecumseh I KNOW IT i work on old engens all the time

  • i found an old car in the woods once but not behind my house

  • techumseh man i wish i could find crap like that in the woods the coolest thing i have ever found is a sized briggs 8 hp that had been stripped

  • techumseh engine i thought it was a wisconsin at first but its a tech. for sure whats the song?

  • the song is weathered by creed. i also thought it was a wisconson but the side cover looked like a techumseh but the overhead valves threw me off.

  • Yep! that is a sears with a tecumseh. overhead valve. really horrible engines! but cool tractor man, you should get it going, we have 2 sears going right now, and they rip some serious stuff up! kinda suck with traction for some reason. pull alot of one leggers, but still fun in the mud!

  • Man, that's a wicked cool video... Like it. Can't help you with the motor, though.

  • i like this song!

  • Id say it is a Tecumseh. That tractor looks like an old sears suburban. They were cool tractors, you should restore it.

  • needs a new engine

  • Tecumseh definately.

  • hay do u hav it running

  • lynolsoffice has a video that has a tractor in it just like this one.

  • I knew it was a sears as I have owned a couple over the years.I just never owned one with an overhead valve engine.
