One of my favorite things. I also get mine at an outlet in the Pocono Mountains, the flaws are very tiny and I love all the different colors. Glad you had a good time.
Didn't know they had an outlet there, that's cool! You're right about the flaws, very small. Gives them character. I have different colors of pieces as I could never pick just one.
I love shopping at outlets, thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales. My 2 greatesr finds ever were a new pair of Levis that had a busted zipper. I gave $2.50 for them and ripped a zipper out of a pair with holes in the knees. I wore those for a couple years. My other big find was a red leather jacket that was like new. I got to the church bright and early one Saturday for $1 bag day. It was the first thing I threw in there. I figure I paid a dime for it. I wore that thing to death!
The pink stuff was discontinued probably about 5 or 6 years ago. That was my least expensive place-setting. I paid around $6 for it at Higbee's, they were trying to get rid of it to bring in the new colors. You can still find some of it. We found other pieces of it at the outlet in the seconds room but not the dinner plate we needed.
OMG, I have an entire set for 12 of Homer Lauglin Fiesta ware in lime green. BUT, my real collection is vintage Homer Laughlin Century Shape with an English Garden design...I LOVE them and only use them for special occasions;-) I adored you guys before but this vid put me over the edge;) LOL LOL
Thanks Marylou. I'd love to see the vintage collextion you have. We went to an Antique shop when we came over that bridge back to Ohio. You should have seen The Fiesta they had through out the shop, all 40,000 sq. feet of it. That part of Ohio is well known for pottery so they just had oodles of it. Lots of other stuff too.
Looks like it would take at least a full day going through everything there! Great deal on the Fiesta pieces! What a fun and wonderful day not only finding the pieces you wanted, but making a wish come true! :-) xoxoxo
I think that sometimes that imperfect one's are the special ones. Just like with people. They are more interesting that way. It sort of personalizes it for you like you got the only one, like it was meant just for you. I love ceramics. Thanks for this tour. Good work Stormy on making Sunny's dream come true. :)
Thanks David. You're right about the flaws being like it is made just for you and you have the only one like it.
The bottom third of the cup from the set has waves of different colors of the turquise. It was obviously seen as imperfect by them, but was interesting and unique to us. Glad you liked the tour.

yep - you are my kind of shopper. I've got a blouse (paid a few bucks for in 1988) still wearing it & still get compliments on the darn thing...
If I ever make it out that way again - you will have to take me shopping! ;)

So. Many. Plates.
As for the bridge... if people are buying lots of plates before driving over it...!!
The turquoise set is cute. I think the beige is my personal fave.
I'm not fully awake yet and it's still pretty dark in here. Hopefully I'm hitting the right keys on the keyboard.

That bridge is one of those that has a roadway that you can see straight thru. It makes that loud humming sound as you go over it. Scary stuff!
The beige set??? ;-)

It could definately take a while, depending on what and how much you are looking for.
It really was a wonderful day.
(Even with the rain.)

I've purchase ceramics retail and even those sometimes have flaws, so it seems to me that you have gotten a great deal!
I think that it must be 10 tons per vehicle, if not I'd suggest ...
Get off the bridge... quickly !!!!! LOL Ray

We were banking on it being 10 tons per vehicle. But it does give you pause, paying for the privilage to find out if that's the case.
Definately got a few good deals that day.

glad you got to visit the Fiesta Place. I am scared of bridges so you wouldn't get me on it

Well that is the quickest way there from our place. It was an adventure, no doubt.
