  • This a great song and I grew up seeing the movie every year around Easter. Anyone know where I might view it again or record it? It's still not sold in stores or or on-line :-(( Maybe some nice person will let me know??? :-D

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT

  • I just recorded this movie. I love the movies back then more than the some of the ones they make last year. It's a waste of money and time for half the movies they make this generation.

  • Just watched Pat in the remake of State Fair. He sure looked more like a farm boy than Dick Haynes did in the original. Haynes looked like a band singer playing a farm boy. But I like the story in the first version better.

    Paz!

  • Its not Pat Boone singing in this clip. Its Paul Newman, LoL. They look so much alike.

  • I wish Dick Haymes had recorded this instead...

  • notice when one hates, its an act of pure jealous..GO PAT !!!!

  • This man sucks all the way from Finland! I really hate that sob.

  • Just about the first movie I ever saw

  • dolcissimo!!!!Bravo Pat...

  • April love is for the very young

Every star ' s a wishing star that .shines for you : )

April love is all the seven wonders .

One little kiss can tell you this is true .

  • Memories are haunting... I was 17 in 1957, and my girlfriend's name was April.. it's true. We had just broken up. Then when driving to my job, Pat Boone's new song came on the radio.. I had to pull over and cry. It was my fault, and I let her "run away." We never saw each other again. It's amazing how I took Pat Boone's song so personal. But before we get out the Kleenex, let's remember that we both remained married to our spouse for 50 years now.

  • "when non one gets older than seventeen" Could you recall how it feels to be in love when you were seventeen, more so in those ages prior to modernity when everyone could notice the romanticism of an April rain.

  • @DYRBCebuCity1968 Ah, so, true. So true. I don't think it matters what year it was...it's just a special time in a girls life and I guess in a boys life, too. First love. Especially in Spring. My first love happened in April 1968. Innocent and pure. And yes, we had that April rain. All these years later, we are still in touch. First love..there's nothing like it.

  • One of the films in the 60's/50's that captured the heart and imagination of the young people of the era all over the world.

  • IN MY COUNTRY EVERY DAY IN 1957 YOU COULD LISTEN PAT BOONE FROM 7 TO 7;30 PM AND THEM FROM 7;30 TO 8 P.M. NAT KING COLE.

I WOULD NEVER FORGET THE STATION RADIO KRAMMER

  • iN 1957 FROM 7 TO 7;30 EVERY DAY YOU WILL HEAR PAT BOONE. AND LATER FROM 7;30 TIL

    I 8 NAT KING CAME.

I WILL NEVER FORGET. WHAT RADIO KRAMMER GAVE US.

  • Supeb!!!

    Dadiana

  • Wonderful song. wonderful memories, Pat Boone is the BEST! Thanks for posting this song.

  • 1957 , first time i ever held a girls hand , my heart felt like a herd of elephants ran over it .

  • @ruandted dat is so adorable!!!!!

  • Billboard's 31st #1 song of the rock era. God bless ya, brother Pat!

  • Lovely od song!

  • This Pat's song is one of the most beautiful song from Pat! It's GREAT!

  • Mr. All American with the White Bucks,Christian Education,Athletic Skills,Good Looks and A Nice Voice. Most parents preferred him over Elvis whose image was far less Spic&Span. They both were successful and equal for awhile but that generation wanted something more wild and Elvis was king. I too was a Pat Boone fan but I admired Elvis for Serving his Country in the Army.

    Ron--Highway Stars Magazine

  • Old memories!

  • In 1957 I was 17 and this song takes me back that fabulous year where the times were good and the girls lovely. And still are.

  • my first crush --- I was about 11 or so and I thought Pat Boone was the bomb! It so amuses me to think about him now. Time sure does change things but watching this brought it all back. thanks for posting.

  • So suave and awesome classic ! Thanks for the upload..clicked for 184 pts.

  • This sounds like it might have been from a TV appearance. Always loved this song, and why not--I met my wife in April. We have no children, but I've said, if we had a daughter I would have wanted to name her April Love, and sung this to her as a lullaby.

  • Terribly out of sync. Nice video though.

  • I would never hear a man singing about love like this...

  • im just like your mother i am already buckled over i love this

  • Back in the day when clean cut was in!! Good guy, Pat Boone!!!

  • I don't remember anyone saying that it literally went, "bang!" as in an audible sound. When God created everything he may have very well used the very process we call the, "Big Bang". There is no way for us to know - or really even care. The point is - he created it. For you to argue the mechanism he created to do so is as silly as scientists thinking they have proven evolution. No one knows jack. Even the existence of God is just my belief, I have no proof and never will until I see him.

  • @guitquick if u have no proof God exists then the why would u stupidly say '' the point is - he created it'', sigh deluded

  • Fucking awesome.

  • April love leads to May get a BJ.

  • is it really colored or colorized? anyway one pat best!!!!!!! love it

  • i love this song,,, make me so in love,,,

  • Hi there Vennie and Grace ! I love it !!!

  • unforgiveable sin???lmao! obviously you know nothing. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

  • God forgiveth him, 'For the Lord has made you unto himself a peculiar people.'

  • shut up you idiot

  • Pat Boone professes to be a Christian but committed adultery 43 times. Sinning knowingly is an unforgivable sin. Pat Boone will go to hell.

  • hey FyFhFr25why did he confess?accordinaly doesn't belief in jesus clean all earthly indescrations?

  • @FyFhFr25 Not likely. But say hello if you see him.

  • Me saying hello to Pat in hell? No, you do it for me. I am not a christian, so I won't be cast into a hell created by the colleted wickedness you sadistic Christians. You christians will join the bible writers there.

  • Adulters and theives live in darkness. Be not a judge but a light for others to follow.

  • @FyFhFr25 haha. There is only one unforgivable sin and that ain't it!

  • Thanks for sharing this video

    Eric - Studio ChinChan

  • Pat Boone sang the original version.

  • Who's performed this song's original version?

  • It was written for the film April Love. He starred in it and sang the title song so his is the original.

  • Thank you for the info, Leo.

  • Next time mom comes over, I'll have to show her this. She'll probably buckle with nostalgic swoon.

  • @MisterEvasion Brilliant comment Mr Evasion....LOL....;-)

  • i saw pat boone in 1961 at schofield barracks in hawaii. i caught an orchid lei he threw to the audience...happy 13 year old...made my summer!

  • I was only 17 in those days when I first saw Pat on the screen in my homeland(Turkiye) and this song now brings me up some fond memories..(Beyoglu Ticaret Lisesi 1957-60) Those were the days...in Istanbul...!!

  • beautiful song, reminds me of spring, i dressed like him, i thought id score more woman!!

  • beautiful song & vid...thanks for sharing

  • What a joke when this asshole came on stage dressed as a hippie. He changed his persona all right; all that religous bull shit flew out the window when he saw which way the wing was blowing.

  • And they call themselves "liberals" .... I call them demented. maybe from all that kool-aid they drink

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Borrowed? Boone made millions for writers in royalties. Writers BEG stars to record their music. Over 1500 recordings and many done in movies. Writers loved him

  • Haahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!! How predicatable!!!!!!! Nice people keep being nice and nasty people.....well they like to keep doing their thing too I guess....I'm signing off for good I' think I'll just keep listening, but not reading comments that are a sad waste of my time unfortunately....thanks for a slice of "reality"! and it has certainly been real!

  • Pat Boones songs are as good today as they were back then..they don't sing em like that anymore,"fabulous!"

  • Loved Pat's music, movies, and his great heart, before I had the honor of meeting he and Shirley when they came to speak at our church 2 years ago. Longtime friends and mentors to our pastor. I also found out I'm distantly related to him! What a gracious and passionate gentleman! Perfect songs for a Valentine's party my husband and I are singing for! Pat Boone's voice and songs will never die!

  • Your comments are neither shocking or frightening.....only concern for your extreme hatred. I do validate your honest feelings. However, I do NOT ask you to validate mine. You may have the last word....this will be my last post....

  • ObamaRules4Ever

You probably have some neat brain cancer that already ate the 99.5 percent of your gray mass. The remaining 0.5 percent allows you to post the stupidest things a human being can.

In other words, my little troll: go play World of Warcraft, the game suitable for your social and emotional needs

  • Anyone know where I can buy this movie?! I'm dying to see it again! Hopefull, TCM will come through for me!

  • i would not call him legendary. the only thing hes legendary for is fucking up Little Richard & Fats Domino songs.

  • I've heard of this song, when I was too little, playing at the home dancing party for adults.

I know many of Pat Poon's songs. But, never had a chance to watch his movies. I wish I can see this movie. I'm very interested, after viewing your up loading this song.

    Thanks! : )

  • Lindo, bela voz, bom homem de Deus. Um sonho que toda mulher gostaria de ver realizado.

  • Love this video..this was my very first Movie. Thank you for sharing this Video.Giselle

  • Yesterday I bought in a second hand shop his 1958 year recording lp. vupyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Love this song! I take care of handicapped people in thier homes and one of my clients use to sing this to me every morning. Always brought a smile to my face even on rough mornings.

  • nice.

  • i love this movie. the song makes me feel so in side.

  • "April Love" was the first Movie I saw in America. We came to the US in 1956,I was 14 years old.I loved this Movie then and still do today. Those were good times..thank you for this Video..Giselle

  • For me, the fifties were the best times ever. In New Zealand, where I lived, there was full employment, very little crime, and racial harmony. People liked to dress up when they went out, and people generally were well-groomed and well-dressed. There was a sense of community - people often volunteered to help if you had problems of any sort. When I return to NZ nowadays it is like visiting a foreign country.

  • Hi thank you for your comment..I think things have changed everywhere..even Germany has changed.I'm glad I did all my traveling when I was younger.I feel for the younger generation ,if won'tbe easy for them..Giselle

  • Sad, but this is how it has become in America.

Morals and self-dignity is a thing of the past.

Nowadays, people use profanity in their speech, are full of themselves, and could care less about someone in need. Crime is at an all time high, and kids want to look as dirty as they can, wearing clothing manufactured to look worn and dirty. It is sad. Very sad.

  • We are living in a decadent society and I fear this will all end in an immense tragedy. Traditional values have been stood on their head. Adolescent-like behaviour and the refusal of responsibility have taken the place of civism and a sense of duty to one's fellow man. Self-indulgence has replaced self-discipline. Egotism has replaced the desire to found a family and the dedication

  • Continuation of previous post

and personal sacrifices this entails. A society without moral values is a society that is doomed to disappear from the world stage, as history has taught us.

  • Ooh, my, aren't you clever! And only 14 years old!

Where did you learn language like that? Was it from your unemployed alcoholic father or your whore of a mother?

  • Your problem is that you weren't properly toilet-trained.

  • I hope that you have had time to calm down a bit. It is not nice to call somebody a paedophile without proof, and I'm sure if Pat Boone knew what you were saying about him, he would be quite angry. So can we now have an intelligent comment on the music?

  • Yeah, his music is bland racist crap stolen from black culture and he's a fucking CUNT who rapes his grandchildren.

  • If you dislike Pat Boone so much, I am left wondering why you have been looking at this page? You miserable, foul mouthed, uneducated little twat!

  • His blog at WND explains why he needs prostate cancer ... soon.

  • OK! So what do you think of the Platters?

  • Don't know what that is, all I know is that Pat Boone is a far right-wing racist sexist homophobic warmongering bigot just like his friend Chuck Norris.

  • OK! So what do you think of Buddy Holly?

  • He made good music, my father is a big fan.

  • @JMBC456 Buddy Holly sings different music.

  • @bluestingerborg

    I know!

  • That's funny, I know him personally and he loves everybody....even you!

  • ObamaRules4Ever

Why, you seem to have been sexually abused by a monkey of some sort.

Are 14 years old trolls allowed to use the internet at all?

  • On the many occasions I have had to deal with him, he didn't show much "love." He is a royal pain in the ass.

  • Pat Boone is the best entertainer of our time. There are no more greats...but him.

Enjoy him ....there is no one else with this talent to take his place.

I am proud to say he is a friend.

  • Pat Boone: for the kids who couldn't listen to Elvis.

  • tres ennuyant !!!!i want to sleep :)))) but so nice

  • so preatty

  • he was so very handsome and with a lovely voice too.

  • Thank you for bringing this on Youtube. This was the favourit of my parents. It was a big hit when they married.

Tears came in my eyes, when I heard this song. I had think of My mom, She passed away seven years ago.

  • Ahhhhh! So soothing. I discovered this song about 40 years ago, as a kid in the 1970s, and have loved it ever since. Thank so much for posting it...what a pleasure.

    Suzy

  • A great song from the movie..."April Love"

Pat Boone, one of the all-time greats. Thanks for posting this clip. You made my day.

Ray Dicks Cape Town, South Africa + 10

  • Shirley Jones was a babe in those days! I also agree that this version of the song is better than what was commercially released. Man I wish I grew up in the 50's!

  • Would you believe that both of them are now 75 years old?

  • Oddly, this rendition is vastly better than the commercial release upon which this remake of 1944's "Home in Indiana" was based! This entire scene, from before this to after, was a hoot - indeed, the whole movie was surprisingly good. (Fun to watch Shirley Jones tweak the censors: Not permitted to be seen in her underwear, she simply -didn't wear any-. No, I'm not kidding.)

  • I love this song!!

    Thank you!

  • Such innocent times. Thanks for posting this.

Pat Boone looks so young and, of course, he was.

  • thank you for posting. magical.

  • Oh boy, this just knocks me out. I saw this film in Tauranga, New Zealand in 1958, or thereabouts, when I was 10 years old. It was during the summer holidays. That was such a fantastic time, and such a fantastic place. This song captures for me the mood of the time. It is my childhood and all the delight of summertime at Mt Maunganui (near Tauranga).

Thanks a million for posting this.

  • I wish I was alive to witness such simple times like the 1950's. :)

  • They were good times, simple, elegant, many new things to make life easier but now that we have them all, life has become stressful..I think what made it simple is the there wasn't TV News 24/7 giving out alll the bad news over the entire world.Giselle

  • Oh, YES, don't you recall how GOOD life was for WHITE CHRISTIAN PEOPLE before civil rights? Isn't a SHAME that media has provided a frame of REALITY that sometimes shows how AWFUL the REAL WORLD is?

  • I was named because of this somg

  • Tjonge, da's een ouwe! Zag deze film in Seinpost (1957), samen met mijn klasgenoot Alie Vlieland. Pat Boone was hevig in, wat is er met hem gebeurt? Paul W M.
