1st and 5th balls: Fan girls

  • i want some

  • OMFGNIWUBAUIOJFAEFGUBIJOAWKOJDUNIAWHFUBWAIJODN SCIENCE

  • I want to buy one of these. I could just stare at it for hours and think.

  • Very cool! I am totally using this for a lesson I teach next week. :)

  • mindfuck

  • What up with da funk?

  • if i'm bored i play with my 'Newton's Cradle'... well, i'm a 14 year old girl, and my parents think i'm a nerd....... :P lol

  • I just got one today from OMSI, i was wondering if makes any difference if it's frame is not metallic, because it feels like it makes a difference.

  • newtons balls are the best :P

  • I got the same one today at the science center today works great!

  • Actually guys, these things will go on forever if you have a good enough set. They won't stop if there's nothing to stop them.

  • @BellaTeamJacob

air will stop them, unless your in a vaccum they won't go on forever (and even then, i'm don't think so since i doubt it's a perfectly elastic collision)

  • I can watch magnets for hours!

  • @Trance2579 they're not magnets... they're just silver balls.

  • Anyone know where you can get one that will keep going for a while and not just a minute or two. I know it will stop eventually, but I want one that has low resistance strings and high mass balls...My boyfriend has been bugging me for one and I promised one for his birthday, All the one's I've found so far online have been toys for children or just gimicks so only go for a short amount of time before you have to set them going again..

  • it will stop, as energy will lose to surrounding as heat, and sound.

  • @azwan1992 I don't think that is the reason why it stops. In my view the main reasons are air resistance and for the biggest part gravity. Gravity constanty wants to stabilize it.

  • @Pr3miuM Gravity is a conservative force, and air resistance doesn't play a big role in this case. The main reason the cradle stops is because energy dissipates as heat wherever there is friction. (At the end of the strings and where balls collide).

  • omg i want one!

  • Just got one of these at Salvation Army for $2.99!

    FTW!

  • Woah, Stars On 45, long time ago since I've heard that track! Nice :D

  • hey everybody, look at me...im a complete douche-bag and like to correct other peoples spelling!!!

  • Man do I hate people who go around correcting other people's spelling. Of course, most of the time they do this is when they have nothing left to argue about.

  • It's "Copyright", not "Copyrite". Try to get your spelling right when writing phoney legal statements.

  • @superscatboy

It's phony, not phoney. Try to get your spelling right when trying to be a smart ass.

  • @mrstone56 It's smart-ass, not smart ass. Try to get your spelling right when trying to make a smart-ass look dumb.

How long can we keep this going??

    haha

    It's 1:05 a.m.

  • Its dum not dumb. Try to get your spelling right when trying to be an ever smarter ass look dum.

Ok its not, but, you didn't seem to make any mistakes, this is all i could do.

  • @mrstone56 Check the alternative spellings in your dictionary, dickhead. "Phoney" is a completely valid spelling.

Don't try and out-pedant me you little fag.

  • @superscatboy Haha, you're so mad.

  • @mrstone56 - Huh.... I guess you ran out of witty comebacks. Too bad for you.

  • @superscatboy It's funny, because I have already succeeded in trolling you. I require no more comebacks.

    c:

  • @superscatboy whats wrong with you three?

  • i done all the same one on my ipod touch

  • Pretty amazing when you think about it...cool stuff

  • whats the name of this song

  • ebay

  • stars on 45

  • where can i get one

  • i made 1 for a school project..

  • e-bay

  • the collisions wouldnt be perfectly elastic therfore some kineticenergy would be converted into other forms like sound n heat etc. prety gnarly though.. i like these things

  • @shaydenb123 is sound a form of energy?

  • how long it takes to stop?

  • does it ever stop?

  • After a very long time.

  • Yes, it does.

  • Yes it does, due to very small friction between the balls... and other forces.

  • lol 'and other forces' ur certantainly the scientest -- i joke :|

  • Awesome. so interesting.

  • mine's not working properly. the balls that are not suppose to be moving will start to swing along.

  • Old ones do that, the strings are faulty.

  • whats the song used in here?

  • Stars on 45 - Megamix

    Search on Youtube

    v=sPq9LbM5rC4

  • it newer stop , right ?

  • You are wrong, sorry. It definitely stops. If it wouldn't stop we would have an perpetuum mobile which isn't possible in normal environment.

  • Well teorichaly it should never stop, because there shouldn't be any loss of energy (kinetic). But actually, there's a bit of loss due to friction with air, etc.

  • and sound :)

  • Comment removed

  • your a foot

  • @joonasal for a second I thought you had actually misspelled 'perpetual motion' but then I realized it was just the same thing in another language. Would you happen to be from canada?

  • @AnGeLOfHaViK I'm from FInland

  • @AnGeLOfHaViK so did but i didnt know that it was from a nother language until i read your comment

  • @AnGeLOfHaViK "Perpetuum mobile" is a Latin term used in many non-english languages.

  • @joonasal Actually, I am actively working to disprove... well, both laws of thermodynamics.

  • @ninjansx You mean playing with this crazy objectXD

  • @ninjansx In an 'ideal' world, it never stops

  • @vannilesoep Inception!

  • k but any store ttho?

  • were can i get one?

  • From eBay or some other web store fore sure. Google it!

  • no i bought mine in a store hobbytown for $13.00

It's amazing how fun simple physics can be.

  • True!!

  • Vähä siististi menee nuo pallot kun laitat 3 kerralla
