AMEN!! We must contend for the faith and we must know what we're talking about!! We need to defend Gods word which is the total truth by pointing people in the right direction. And then we need to pray that the Holy Spirit will work in their life.....that they will call upon Jesus and repent! :-)

The most loving thing we can do is tell people the truth...even if it makes them mad...even if they won't talk to us.

Why are people rejecting Christianity? Christianity that focuses on gaining eternal life quickly becomes mired in Christian-speak. Christians brandish terms like salvation, gospel, justification, predestination, Kingdom of Heaven, and repentance; all the usual suspects. But very few Christians comprehend these terms well enough to convey them in plain language. Hence, a Christian starts talking and the listener's BS alarms start ringing.

This is a lie that's based on heretic Calvinist teaching, Repentance means turning from sin, and turning from sin means to stop sinning, then a person must live a sinless life in order to be saved. And if that is the case, then nobody could ever be saved, because there are no perfect people. PLEASE READ YOUR BIBLES. Salvation is free and all you have to do is believe. Jesus and Paul went over this over and over. You do not earn salvation through works, for then the cross would be meaningless.

So we should just keep on sinning? If we take advantage of God's grace in that way, then are we sure we have it? Repentance is synonymous to salvation. You can't have one without the other. Repentance doesn't mean you're perfect, but it means that even though you still might screw up, you're disgusted by it just like God is. It means that you'll give control over the Holy Spirit to work in you because you hate your sin.

What is heretic Calvinist teaching? Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus? That's an essential doctrine that all Christians believe. Calvin never taught that salvation is through works. Please don't lump reformed theology in with a works based faith, that's not what any of the reformers taught, in fact the very thing you are contending for is what Martin Luther contended for, as well as Calvin.

Yes slavation is free, but that doesnt mean you are free to run around doing whatever you want. Salvation includes turning from your sins and letting God change your life. You just dont say thank you Jesus and continue doing whatever. No one can live a sinless life but what does your heart desire? If you truly love god and you would obey him as your father and his commands.

I can not contend with a "johnny come lately religion like Christianity. Not that I am saying Zues was correct any more than Horus or osirus. I believe they are all made by man and none are factual. The false prophets that speak about these religions do so for gain. That gain may be monetary, material, power, popularity or all of the above. For if they got none of these things how long do you think they would preach the gospel???

I like Rob Bell. He tells me that god loves me no matter what I do. That is important because I do drugs and I like to have anonymous sex. I do not want god to be mad at me for that so it is good to know that god loves me all the time. I just want to be loved.

God is our Father, and much like a father He loves us unconditionally. However, because He loves us, He does get angry with us at times. One can be angry at someone, and still love them (that is what unconditional love is). God loves you, but we cannot deny the fact that there are time in which we violate His nature and this angers Him (i.e. lying, cheating, stealing, lust, premarital sex, mistreatment of oneself or others or nature). But He offers forgiveness for the repented.

CoffeFan87 said it very well. The key word there is repented. To repent is to be sorry; change heart and behavior which means you make a U-turn from sin to God. This does not mean you will never slip up but going on doing drugs and having anonymous sex without repentance (again that is taking responsibility, admitting you are wrong and asking for forgiveness) there is no forgiveness. Please read 1 John 3:1-11. I would also encourage you to Google Mark Driscoll @ Mars Hill Church.

It is true tha tgod loves you no matter what you do, but that's exactly why he doesn't want you to do those things. His commands are not to steal our fun but to lead us to ultimate joy. Likewise, parents dont tell their kids "don't run by the pool" just because it's fun to run by the pool. They have that rule because it's DANGEROUS. In the same way, God's laws are for our own good. They also give us a way to love him in return, by obeying.
