This is very easy. All you do is take a shit ton of pictures, make a batch operation with gradian gaussian blur in top and bottom, put them together in a video edit program and voila!
Shadows and lighting DO change between the beginning and the end of the clip. If time lapse, then it may not have been more than an hour or less in real time.
