haha I have the same heatsink, coolermaster right? took me a few mins to do it. I dry fitted it first then applied a little thermal paste and squished it down while gently turning it from side to side as to make the paste get in the cracks of the heattubes. how long did it actaully take you to put the heat sink on, it looks like a long time.
I wouldn't mind having trouble with the heatsink... What i would have a bit of trouble with is sitting down for 3 hours and bending as you did. Maybe it would have been much easier on a work table or bench :p
oh god.. i just bought that exact same heat sink.. i hope i don't have as much trouble installing it as you did! what was the reason you kept having to redo it??
@N1m1l We were trying to hook the heatsink into the mounting bracket after screwing down the mounting bracket. If you hook the heatsink on first and screw it down all together it is much easier. The only thing is it is harder to predict how the thermal compound will spread this way since you can't really aim the heat sink down.
@chaosrealm93 Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler. i ended up not even figuring out how to get mine on because i'm a noob at computer building and the instructions were kinda vague for me. i realized how to put it on right after i'd already gotten things together. gonna install it later on lol
@TtomTtomT92T YO I AM 17 YEARS OLD CAN ANYONE GIEV ME HELP ABOUT BUILDING A PC I AREALDY GOT A BIGDERT AND I HAVE BEEN SAVING UP FOR A YEAR, I AINT STUPID I JUST DONT WANNA FUCK THIGNS UP CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE IT WILL BE A CORE I7 930 SETUP ! WITH A SUS RAMPEGE 2 EXTREME MOBO WITH 12gB OF RAM and 1 5850 card 2 60GB SSD with one !.5TB for storage, please people give me ADVICE
I'm going to do my 1st build soon. I decided to follow Tom Hardwares $1500.00 build that won the contest. I figure its a good way to not make a mistake in matching components. They used the AsRock mobo and I was wondering if you have any suggestions of where to go to get good instruction on how to pull it all together. I have modest knowledge and hope I'm not getting in over my head. Thanks man, looks like you did a good job.
i had tons of fun building mine, it took me 2 days because neweggs items came in at different days. it worked out though i had 24 hours to test my wc loop :). my girlfriends pc only took about 2 hours
I almost build PC's weekly, the last time i finished the build in almost under 10 minutes just the standard budget PC with the stock cooler 1 dim no GPU stuff like that.
i just built my first computer. Couldn't do it all at once as I have no time and am still in high school. But I took my time and read everything...So it probably took me around 4 hours. all in all.
@esebcarfreak you do you realize that he was reading manuals right so therefor it could be that this was his first time building the computer so therefor 3 hours isn't bad plus reading manuals
Very nice job, thats the first were I have seen someone read the manual, "your never to good to not read the manual" can't remember who said that but it's true every model is different.
bigger the cooler is, bigger the problems are...
hahaha

nice vid man took me about 3 hours for my first build as well, my last build "4th" took me 1 hour.
anyways were you eating @ 1:52? because that's like the biggest no no for me. I wouldn't recommend eating while working on a computer.
