HLing??? Never heard of it. But they most likely changed that. Like...completely. I tried that on unite with art of unsheathing, felyne heroics and super super low h.p. and got hit several due to that dumb bitch of a Rathian not flinching.

You're contradicting yourself, you say headlocking is keeping the wyvern in it's place by hitting the head, but in the movie it can run freely.

Well, it's not headlocking, it's hooking, since HL is keeping a monster stuck in his position until his death, and even both these techiques use the stagger limit, they are very different.

Also, headlocking was commonly performed using a lance (exspecially online, thanks to the lag), because of its huge power compared to the GS...

Anyway, it's a good video, nice display of skills.

Not really Headlocking but looks like a good way to deflect those nasty Rathian Charges. Still, I think the best strategy is stand between it's legs and do the 'Circle, Triangle+Circle' thing.

its not really a glitch. it just means his weapon is strong enough to make the monster flinch. try doing it with a nooby sword it wont work youll just hit him then he just rams your ass.

Well its not technically headlocking. although you are hitting it and getting it stopped. you should try hittin it continuously and try headlocking it. causeheadlocking is when you hit its head continuously and it doesnt move anywere. you should watch the video how to headlock.

It's a neat little trick you have there, but unless you can do that constantly without letting it move, then it ain't considered head-locking. Nice job on stalling it though. It's definitely a nice alternative to dodging that Charge all the time.

its possible to hl with a great sword. Ex. the Red Dragonsword can do this. With Los' or Ian's head, you 1:upswing 2:side swip 3:repeat. Btw, 1:it's very possible to do that downswing to stop the ian then go into the up-side-repeat combo, 2:Outstanding music, Rock On "and dont forget the violence!" LOL :)
