It is mildly hilarious that those of you from the US categorize our whole country as taking part in this cruel act. Some people(not all) that live in your country hunt animals all year round, sometimes just for FUN. Just because a seal is much more cute than a deer, doesn't make either of it right. Please don't soil Canada's name by implying that our whole country takes part and/or is okay with this.

Hello in the late 1970s to early 1980s there was a song released here in Australia called Save Me and it was released to bring awareness to the Save the Seals Campaign against those who clubbed and traded in the fur of the Seal Pups would you have any idea at all who sang the song. I was only a kid in school at the time, yet I am unable to locate the record I had the song on. It was the first time in my life I learned about this horrible trade. I was wondering if you can help me locate it.

i think this is horrible , i am from northern canada and to some people this is a way of life , aboringal people have been hunting seals for decades , we use the fur to keep warm , we use the meat to eat and we use the bone . yes i dont agree with the southerns comin up to hunt but stop and remmeber some people do this for a living .

There's a much larger and more complex ethical gray area around this issue than PETA would like you to believe.

In the meantime, animals go extinct at a nauseating rate all over the world while they scream themselves hoarse about a regulated, humane hunt of a free range animal that is listed at the very lowest point of the IUCN conservation status scale. It's rhetoric over reason

Once I admired Canada. Once I had good memories of Canada. I don't anymore. They sell licenses so people can kill polar bears. Polar Bears are on the endangered list. And the baby seal hunt is one for another year. I will never spend a cent in Canada or buy Canadian products ever, ever again.

Don't be fooled into thinking that one or two videos here can be applied to all seal hunts and practices. Look around before joining causes like this, and realize that they are showing isolated cases and vicariously applying them to all. I'm just sayin'. xP

Canada also knowingly-and is okay with-buying CAT and DOG fur coats from China. They refuse to ban cat and dog fur garments for fear "it may promote anti-seal hunt sentiments."

Bringing the olympics into this is horrible, people have been training for years to be in the olympics and it shouldnt be overshadowed by the fucked up government
