It saddens me regarding "they don't make them like this anymore". Notice that is an older man (Richard Rodgers) writing the music. "waltzing ... cat" reminds us of, of all people, Leroy Anderson (and his "Waltzing Cat").
Hate to be picky, since this is overall well done, but she botches the lyric with, "an old lady is dancing with her cat; waltzing with the cat." Should have been: "an old lady is waltzing in her flat; waltzing with her cat." Other than that, nice job
Sounds great ! Wish I had heard it. Am going to The Royal Albert Hall Prom on 31st July for Sondheim's 80th Birthday, on BBC TV same night and the Rodgers and Hammerstein Prom on 22nd August which is on BBCTV 28th August.
@indyandnorbert I'm not that familiar with this show. I'm a huge fan of Sondheims shows but haven't listened much to his other work (except Gypsy and West Side Story)
The concert was on radio, yes. I attended the concert myself in Stockholm in February. It's a shame they didn't release the WHOLE concert on CD or radio as there were some incredible pieces in it. There was this 10-15 minute long Sweeney Todd intrumental piece which was incredible.
A melody doesn't get much better than this!

Not to detract from Sondheim, but let's not forget that the music was written by Richard Rodgers!

@indyandnorbert Wow! I'm very jealous! :D I guess I'll have to catch that on tv, even though I'd rather be there in person.

Its one of my favourite shows. Percy Faith did an orchestral version of the show too!
Would like this concert on a disc - was it on radio?
