The synthesizer is probably the worst thing to test sound on, as it lacks both bass and the sort of transient high frequency sounds that show up 'colouration' and resonances. A cymbal, or a crisp packet! are good tests at the high end. You might be interested in the adapters for the GH2 (and EOS5d etc) that I designed to correct both level and bass response for each specific camera type. @CoolColJ , The ARP 2600 has a built in spring reverb. It has a pretty unique sound. Thanks for your comment.

@mchamber4 Thanks for the comment. An external audio field recorder usually records better audio quality than a camcorder or HDSLR.
