This makes me so sad. My grandfather passed away today. He was called to fight in war for Russia against his own country Latvia when he was just 16 years old during the soviet union. He had an amazing challenging life. he died today at age of 84. I miss his dearly.

Oh Lord, this made me cry. A loving tribute to a good man.

My daddy was a Korean War Vet and I lost him a month ago. I miss him so bad. I hope he and your grandpa are up in Heaven trading war stories!

That was very sad, but I'll tell you what I don't understand. The people who were treated the worst in those camps were gays. They were singled out for the most horrific abuse and medical experiments. They were also persecuted by their fellow inmates and at the end of the war (the ones who survived) many were rearressted. The abuse continued.......

The German Supreme Court ruled in 1957 that homosexuals were not considered wrongful victims of Nazi persecution because they had been legitimately imprisoned for their "crimes" and as such were not eligible for compensation nor pension as Holocaust survivors. Those poor men were innocent victims (like your grandfather), yet your religious nuts friends are still persecuting them today. That is not the word of God and they know it, just like they knew it about slaves.

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly that homosexuals have received horrific treatment, it's not fair to post your comments in response to this video. I lost my incredible grandfather three weeks ago. I miss him more than I ever thought possible. I feel as though there is a hole inside of me. I loved him, and continue to love him more than words. I am so, so sorry for your loss MadScience...

awsome vidio. I lost my grandfather when I was 15 in July 1993. Not a day goes by I don't think about him. He was also a WW2 vet. He was a 2nd Lutenent who piloted a B-24 out of Italy. He is also the only one of his crew to have come home. After the war he raised a family and was a decorated Police officer. He never got over his lost crew. And when he passed at the age of 72 I know he went home to them. I miss him greatly still to this day

I'm sorry to hear about your Grandfather. I'll keep you in my prayers. I can tel you it does get easier but they'll always be a hole in your heart. God will get you through it but He wont take away the loss you you feel right away. I think maybe he lets us have that feeling so that we can remember the impact they had on our lives. Maybe he wants us to know how it felt for him to give up his only begotten son. Take comfort in knowing you'll see them again and next time it will be forever.

Yes, No one can get rid of the pain, but as you i did not feel that pain until my grandfather died because he was the only one that was actually close. I start to muse sometimes on how other older members that are going to die and my young friends that die from drug dealings, i contemplate on a way to save their life but it seems inevitable so my best way is to save their soul. I will profess the word of jesus until my death comes and i will use science to make a cogent arguement.

madsicence, i apologize for your gradnfathers death my grandfather and my aunt died form cancer related subjects about 6 month ago. i dedicate my life to God and science to help me find emotional, physical, and spiritual cures for people. You have helped me do that and understand how God works, that part of my steps to my goal and i know you will keep onhelping me with science and the word of God.

You'll most likely have a hole in your heart that may never go away but it does get easier to deal with. Sometimes I still cry When I remember all the ones I've lost since my Grandfather passed, but I dont mind because for me it's actually therapeutic It reminds me of what Love really is. Until my Grandfather I had never felt the loss of a loved one.

These are actually the same videos that I created for his and her funeral and receiving of friends and family. I wanted to show that they were loved and they gave love to anyone that wanted it. I miss them dearly. A video cant replace them but it helps me to keep my memories of them fresh and on my mind. Hope your's does the same. I am sorry that you never got to meet your moms side.

I cant even Imagine what my life would have been like without my knowing them.  I really feel for you in that you never got to meet one side of your grandparents. I can only say that I know I would not be the same person I am now had I not known my Grandparents. They were ( actually still are ) a major influence on the person I am today.

This Man was/is my Hero. I miss him so much that it hurts me to even watch this now. This is the same video slideshow that I had made 6 years ago when he died for his receiving of friends. I Miss you Papa. It should get easier losing loved ones as time goes one but it never does. It just leaves a hole in you that will never be replaced. I loved my Papa with all my heart and miss him everyday. Tell your loved ones that you love them make sure they know. He knew I loved him and I know he loved me.
