  • The fish don´t die. They are released after measurements and scale samples have been taken. Nobody is fishing for these fish. They are young Atlantic salmon in the riverine state, before the migrate to the sea. They return to the river the following year weighing 2-3 kg. Then they enter the fishery.

  • just imagine the guy fishing further down the river when he sees all these deead fishes

    \

  • DAMMIT NOW, I knew people on Youtube could be stupid, BUT REALLY?YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.

AND I AM REFERRING TO THE COMMENTS

  • lax, salmon! stey are looking how it is going with the population! they don't kill the fish, they are "counting" them

  • if u love fish like i do, u want them to die with dignity :P

  • you´r useless fisherman

  • @ch9ol9ol Learn how to type in English.

  • @Koostbraaksel thanks for your recomendation, but i´m not englishman.

  • @ch9ol9ol English is a international language, that´s not a good excuse.

  • the size of the fish is like chickpeas you should give shame

  • No. Fish is released after measurements and scale samples have been taken.

  • Does it kill the fish?

  • GHOST-BUSTERS!

  • im reporting you for hax

  • That's not fishing, just killing because the fish are being thrown DEAD away...

  • Гандоныыы Goooooyu!!!!

  • I find this to be hilarious...

  • Those are not trout. They are young salmons, parr as they are called in the riverine phase, before the go to sea to gain weight. They stay in the river for 3 years and 1-2 in the sea.

  • What kind of trout are those?

  • Killshot the electricity only temeraly stuns them so hush

  • i hope u ate them cuz that is not right.

  • you do realize that only salt water conducts electricity because the bond between the salt and the water molecule holds a pathway for the free floating electrons.

  • Yes, here in Iceland. This is for scientific purpose only, I have a special license to use the method to collect fish samples.

  • isnt this illegal?

  • @muffinman8910

No these were Salmon parr. Salmon spend 32-3 years in the river before going to the sea and returning from there 1-2 year later as big salmon. Electrofishing is used to monitor the parr population so advice on enhancement can be given.

  • omg yuou are retarded..i wish your mother die

  • @JOHNNYwxw

Not retarded, only a scientist, and- my mother is over there in the hunting grounds.

  • @fiskimyndir nice..i like it

  • gives people bad ideas tho its a good way to clean every trout out of the river.might be good for the carp problem aswell.would it work on a 20 pound carp.

  • @morgas28

No I nefer get big fish. The range is about 1 meter and big fish escape when they are aware of me, no change.

  • thts the lazy way for fishing

  • @malcominthemiddle0

No not really. This is only used for monitoring the rivers in order to have a background for scientific advice.

  • @malcominthemiddle0

This scientific sampling to monitor young fish in rivers.

  • stick anode in your anus and try again

  • @daxureisidiot

    That can't be done, sorry

  • when do you slip into the river, and electrocute yourself? now THAT is worth watching.

  • @AZIlluminati08 There is a "dead mans switch" on the stick. The power on magnetic switch has to be pressed when shocking. Releasing it cuts all power off. I am not aware of any accident of this kind.

  • @fiskimyndir yeah but when you're getting shocked u may lose control of your nerves

  • @nicko978

I have been doing this for 30 years and never been shocked, none of my colleagues ether. But my dog 2-3 times when stepping on the negative electrode trying to follow me!

  • @nicko978

I have never been shocked. This is a fishing for scientific purpose only, to monitor the population of young fish in rivers.

  • @AZIlluminati08 rubber boots? you know alot about science.

  • Does it kills the fish?

  • @MrYeifri

They all survive. I have never seen a fish killed by electrofishing. I have caught tens of thousands. Weather they become damaged in some way, we don't know. There are no indications of that.

  • In our country this kind of fishing is a very big breaking. As i understood, you engaged this method as scientist. Some people says : After electrofishing, fish cant breed", so say the truth as specialist. Thank you.

  • @MrDed11

    Thanks mr. Ded

Well I doubt that this is true, that fish cannot breed after electrofishing. In my case however, I never catch mature fish. In the surveys I only catch salmon parr, they are 3-12 cm long, always immature. Electrofishing is used to assess salmon parr populations in rivers.
