MAN this show is awesome. Best part of my day when I was a kid. Twenty years later and I still genuinely enjoy the shows just as much as I did when they were new.
why is this and the spiderman TAS and Justice league all off the air on Y-tv and cartoon network.. i wanted my little brother to watch these. Does anyone know?
This and the nolan movies capture the Batman feel so well. It's not like other Cartoon Series in the 90's who were a lot more humorous (spiderman for example). It's supposed to be dark like this, so it represents the struggles Batman goes through as he's not exactly a popular hero, villains and the police.
You guys know what's the most epic thing about this intro? It's that it doesn't need to show "Batman: The Animated Series" at any moment. Just by watching this, you're all 'Yeah, I know what I'm about to watch, and it's awesome.'
Cartoons, especially Super-hero cartoons died a horrible death once the nineties ended. Some are ok, The Batman for example isn't that bad, but none really match up to Batman TAS, Spider-Man TAS, X-Men TAS, Superman TAS and the like (Justice League being an exception due to being in the DCAU)
best batman series so far, it was before they tried to make the batman feel like a childish thing since the batman looked pic in this series, even the joker looked great:)
YES!! I loved this show as a kid because it was so dark and serious...and epic! it was a break frm the sugarcoated happy ADD inducing stuff I was watching the rest of the day. still gotta love Joker and Harley Quinn! I used to copy her when she would talk, and walk around all day saying "Mister jay"
@theretro95 I disagree, while Brave and the Bold is much lighter in tone, they don't dance around stuff like the deaths of Ted Kord, B'wana Beast. Hell, there's a whole episode dedicated to Batman contemplating if he should take revenge on Joe Chill. Incidentally it features Mark Hammil and Kevin Conroy
according to popular rating, some people thought that dark cartoons were a 'negative influence' on children, so they reverted back to the old batman comics (when he started, where he was friendly and all) for inspiration for the new series

Awesome cartoon... every episode of the Joker was classic (Especially the laughing fish episode)
But the Mister Freeze episode... holy shit!!! THATS what they should have shot for in the movies!!

@theretro95 its a homage to the golden/silver age of comics, and it's awesome. batman wasn't always dark and edgy ya know.

It's really awesome how it doesn't show the title even once throughout this entire intro!!!

So awesome, i love how dark the intro is. The best part is when the lightning hits and shows batman at the end.
