  • what's a good weight for a clubbell to start out with? I train with kettlebells and I am thinking of getting a clubbell. I work with 32 KG with kettlebells. Would a 25 lb clubbell be good enough?

  • Well, clubbells have a very weird weight distribution to them, making them seem much heavier than they really are, but if you work with a 32kg kettlebell, then a set of 20s or 25s would probably suit you best.

    Always start lower than you can, and build up slow, is my advise. It's easy to break your body, repairing it takes years

  • Yes, interesting form--he makes the 25s seem light. The slow motion helps break down the exercise. One can say that the tighter form helps clarify the movement.

  • Does anyone know exactly what this worksout, or preps you for. Ex: puching power or range of motion. Its new to me and I just cant figure it out.

  • I think it is a drill meant to enhance the health of the connective tissue in your shoulders and shoulder girdle. The way RMAX people train, you typically once you get accustomed to a given weight, you perform it for timed sets (30 secs to 1 min with 30 sec rest intervals).

  • It basically works your rotator cuff muscles, the area behind your should blades (teres minor, infraspinatus, supraspinatus) . These are key muscles for all sports that require throwing, swinging, punching, or any kind of exposive arm movements. That's bascially the only area all clubbell exercises work, but a very vital area for most sports.

  • diffinately, any excersise that work on the rotator cuff muscles is a must for weight lifters like myself, but i think they work very similar to kettles bells.

  • I work-out with both kettlebells and and wooden meels. while they work similar muscles the technques and results are different. I do not see real similarity betweem kettlebell and meels. A 30# kettlebell is much easiler to control and a 15# meel.
