  • No problem, sorry haven't posted in a good while, but am working on new ones, should be up in the next few weeks :) Thanks for visiting.

  • @DHURLEY4590 This version is lovely. I believe that many songs can be sung in a variety of styles. Real music lovers can appreciate all genres. Reba moves me more than the Billy Jo Spears recording though!

    Chris

  • I have always liked Reba....what a soul reaching presentation. Folks with a heart can easily identify with the genuine heart felt gripping song. I did find the CD and purchased is used just to get this song......Just Awesome......thanks for the post!!!

  • Reba can sing anything and make it "hers" I love it. Thanks for posting this. *****

  • For all of your information: Dorothy Moore was second to record this, Wilma Burgess was the first and she sang it great too.

  • Hmm. I can sort of see where they were trying 2 go with this, but I think they should've just written another song. It's one thing 2 personalize, play with a melody, change tempo & time sig, but it's another to change it into something just resembling a ripoff of the original. I'm not a fan of hers, but that isn't why I'm don't care for this version, because I know she's talented. Dorothy reached into the dark depths of her soul. Reba, Martina etc. just aren't that kind of singer. TY4upload :).

  • Great version.Great song.

  • She ruined a good song.

  • Ugh!!!!

  • Now this is the style i like to hear reba sing

  • the best ever!!!!! What a fantastic song...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS POSTING

  • I love D. Moor's version, but now I really love this one. I can hear the words clearly, which now has more meaning, which purley touches my heart. THANK'S SO MUCH! for posting this.

  • she does a good good job with it but there is no soul ..This song was made for Dorothy moore ,She had soul along with her heavenly voice,no one can sing it like her.

  • *LYRICS* Oh it's been such a long long time looks like I get you off my mind But I can't just the thought of you Turns my whole world misty blue Oh honey Just the mention of your name Turns the flicker to a flame Listem to me good baby I think of the things we used to do And my whole world turns misty blue
  • p.s..........this was originally a country song...... written for brenda lee but she turned it down. dorothy moore picked it up 7 years later and made it an r&b classic......works great either way like alot of other songs......check out hank williams "cold, cold, cold heart" done by dinah washington it is a masterpiece.....

  • @johnnyrockintalkin i love this song... and the history .. and i love reba too.

  • actually a frickin GREAT old school country version of this great song.......why all the bullshit comments.,... don't compare this to dorothy moore, she does a killer r&b /soul version. old style country music is just white soul......i say great job.!!......i'll buy the record. if you don't like this version, you don't like REAL music......dorothy moore/reba mcintire....

apples/oranges......you know, i like apples and i like oranges, too.......do you get it? both are great.........

  • i really like it......it has a Patsy Cline feel to it.

  • HECK NO!!!! She should have never attempted to sing this song. She ruined it!!!! Uggh, I have to hit mute on my computer as I type this. NO ONE can sing this like Dorothy Moore. I'm offended that she messed up this great song and made it a country disaster.

  • Don't you think you're being a little too critical? Sure, Dorothy Moore sings this song better than anyone else. I'm not even a fan of Reba's, but come on, she did do a pretty good job.

  • Rebar Macintar is the only singer who can sound every vowel in one word. Can't stand her singing.I will probably be in hell and as torture

she will be singing and I'll be condemned to front row seats.

  • come yall it's not that bad1

  • Hell I love it!!!!!!!!! =D

  • no way of being nice about it. this is shit!

  • will you email me this???

  • o my god let me hurry up and get back to dorthy moores video, i dont even wanna remember this

  • This is trully awful.

  • She is killing one of most beautiful songs every written, terrible!!

  • I love Reba but man, no one sings this like Dorothy Moore

Hurts my ears to listen to this

  • love Reba but i always put the original song by Dorothy Moore on repeat every morning...

  • who cares who did it first...anybody that being honest with themselves knows who did it best! Its a horrible country song.....sound amazing as blues! Dorothy Moore revived this dead song and gave it life!

  • this sucks....

  • This is a very nice version...Love Dorothy Moore's version, too.

  • I always thought this was or should have been a country tune anyway...I'm surprised more country artists haven't done it or that its not a country standard

  • Love Reba's version, but I am dying to hear Ms. Brenda Lee version. She will forever the Queen of Country Soul!

  • Mother nature certainly do not miss Reba when handing out the goodies -

    great post thanks.

  • All the expert are here hey? It's not originally a blues song and Dorothy Moore wasn't the original and it can be traced back to 67 as a country song!

  • Actually in 67 Ella Fitzgerald recorded the song. It was originally written and recorded as a country song before that.

  • She sucks stay country leave the blues to the black people.

  • racist. wat about darius rucker? tell him to leave country to white people like it should be!

  • I hope you were just trying to prove a point! People need to stop all of the racist comments! Reba did a great job on this song, and color has nothing to do with it!

  • I normally like Reba but this is ear shattering.

  • ha. I admit it was a great song and still is. Reba made it her own, you have obviously wouldn't know a good song if it bit you in the ass.

  • Love Reba,s voice, very talented, and so full of compassion, as she sings!

  • Love Reba,s voice, very talented, and so full of compassion, as she sings!

  • This song is beautiful and brings back so many memories

  • I love it ! I swear there isn't a song that Reba has sung that I dislike and can't help singing along to.

  • same with me!!!!!!!!

  • same here also! I love her to pieces!!

  • love the video

  • What album is this song on? I thought I had every one and I don't have this song.

  • it was on Moments and Memories: The Best of Reba McEntire (1999). she recorded it a while before that but it didn't get released until this album

  • I have Moments and Memories (1998) and it is not on there. Moments and Memories was an import, right? Is your from Australia?

  • It wason the cd that was only released to canada, australia, and the uk as a way to thank her fans in that area for supporting her. it was a special release. it is hard to find but they have them on amazon for close to 50 dollars.

  • @jennydee123 Its track 19
