@DHURLEY4590 This version is lovely. I believe that many songs can be sung in a variety of styles. Real music lovers can appreciate all genres. Reba moves me more than the Billy Jo Spears recording though!
I have always liked Reba....what a soul reaching presentation. Folks with a heart can easily identify with the genuine heart felt gripping song. I did find the CD and purchased is used just to get this song......Just Awesome......thanks for the post!!!
Hmm. I can sort of see where they were trying 2 go with this, but I think they should've just written another song. It's one thing 2 personalize, play with a melody, change tempo & time sig, but it's another to change it into something just resembling a ripoff of the original. I'm not a fan of hers, but that isn't why I'm don't care for this version, because I know she's talented. Dorothy reached into the dark depths of her soul. Reba, Martina etc. just aren't that kind of singer. TY4upload :).
I love D. Moor's version, but now I really love this one. I can hear the words clearly, which now has more meaning, which purley touches my heart. THANK'S SO MUCH! for posting this.
she does a good good job with it but there is no soul ..This song was made for Dorothy moore ,She had soul along with her heavenly voice,no one can sing it like her.
*LYRICS* Oh it's been such a long long time looks like I get you off my mind But I can't just the thought of you Turns my whole world misty blue Oh honey Just the mention of your name Turns the flicker to a flame Listem to me good baby I think of the things we used to do And my whole world turns misty blue
p.s..........this was originally a country song...... written for brenda lee but she turned it down. dorothy moore picked it up 7 years later and made it an r&b classic......works great either way like alot of other songs......check out hank williams "cold, cold, cold heart" done by dinah washington it is a masterpiece.....
actually a frickin GREAT old school country version of this great song.......why all the bullshit comments.,... don't compare this to dorothy moore, she does a killer r&b /soul version. old style country music is just white soul......i say great job.!!......i'll buy the record. if you don't like this version, you don't like REAL music......dorothy moore/reba mcintire....
apples/oranges......you know, i like apples and i like oranges, too.......do you get it? both are great.........
HECK NO!!!! She should have never attempted to sing this song. She ruined it!!!! Uggh, I have to hit mute on my computer as I type this. NO ONE can sing this like Dorothy Moore. I'm offended that she messed up this great song and made it a country disaster.
Don't you think you're being a little too critical? Sure, Dorothy Moore sings this song better than anyone else. I'm not even a fan of Reba's, but come on, she did do a pretty good job.
who cares who did it first...anybody that being honest with themselves knows who did it best! Its a horrible country song.....sound amazing as blues! Dorothy Moore revived this dead song and gave it life!
I always thought this was or should have been a country tune anyway...I'm surprised more country artists haven't done it or that its not a country standard
All the expert are here hey? It's not originally a blues song and Dorothy Moore wasn't the original and it can be traced back to 67 as a country song!
I hope you were just trying to prove a point! People need to stop all of the racist comments! Reba did a great job on this song, and color has nothing to do with it!
It wason the cd that was only released to canada, australia, and the uk as a way to thank her fans in that area for supporting her. it was a special release. it is hard to find but they have them on amazon for close to 50 dollars.
No problem, sorry haven't posted in a good while, but am working on new ones, should be up in the next few weeks :) Thanks for visiting.

she will be singing and I'll be condemned to front row seats.

Actually in 67 Ella Fitzgerald recorded the song. It was originally written and recorded as a country song before that.
