  • I disagree with Carville on a LOT of things, but what he's done for the school choice movement is ridonkulous.

  • Maher is a piece of shit. Can't figure out what his claim to fame is.

  • "...one side has been fighting for the right of Americans to own assault rifles."

And the Arizona shooter used a glock. And Lee Harvey Oswald used an old bolt action rifle.

What Maher advocates is a total gun ban, because he's the state's little whore.

    Stand up for your rights.

  • Stop squeeking woman ... men are talking. Uuugh!

  • @derekmcgoldrick Typical liberal.

  • WHY IS CARVILLE DRESSED UP AS CHRIS CHAN?

  • Mental health should be discussed more, just look at the hockey players and other athletes taking their own lives these days.

  • Maher looks like a serpeant and Carville an alien!

  • Bill Maher uses the same bombastic rethoric as the right wingers. And he's not much better with the arguments then Bill O'Rilly. lf he concetrates more on stuff that he's talking about and analyse beyond the point where it just "sunds good", he might make a point which he could back up with something other then a witty phrase. That would be nice

  • gotta love james carville wearing a shirt will smith would on the fresh prince of bel air

  • @DirtyMikeballin ...i noticed that

  • @DirtyMikeballin Mardi Gras baby!

  • @DirtyMikeballin Carville and Smith - Always thought they were alike!

  • @DirtyMikeballin Very Mardi Gras-ish shirt!

  • "When JFK got shot, they USED it to pass civil rights...."

    Ah...bit of a Bidenism, Maher?

  • What the FUCK is that old guy wearing lol

  • This wasn't a random shooting. Its not like he fired his weapon indescriminantly and she was an innocent by-stander. This guy shot a politician at point blank range in her head at her political event. How can it not be politically driven? Carville is wrong, if there wasn't all the political rhetoric, then he would not have shot that politician or any other. People are not looking at the fact that this was a hate crime. They are too eager to sweep this under the rug.

  • Fact 99% of people posting here don't know what liberal/conservative means.

  • @GraigSalerno

Unless you polled everyone posting here, gathered the results and found the number to be 99%; AND are willing to make that result open to public to make sure you're not lying; I'm going to believe you pulled that 99% figure out of your ass. And that's a fact!

  • We've got guns. We've got lunatics. Put those two together and shit happens.

  • @crazyriders83 Sounds like something Mr. Carville would say.

  • @RealTime88

Then good for Carville. It's just the truth.

  • He shot a politician because (a) he was/is crazy and (b) if we're going to look at his politics, they're way more to the left than Palin. I mean, Loghner and Obama love to the same books.

  • Who invited this squeaking cunt that keeps interupting everybody? Look up Lee Doren vs. Cenk Uygur debate. She had to be the worst moderator in world history. Constantly interupting before they could make their point and she talked more than they did.

  • Here's what the Second Amendment of the US Constitution says:

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Where in this phrase does it say anything about personal protection? The way it reads, unless you're a militiaman, you really don't need a gun. That said, this Amendment should have been worded better because too much ambiguity exists.

  • @skidawg22 "the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

You do know what infringed means don't you? God Liberals are fucking stupid.

  • @DanielDamascusKimery Read the whole amendment. "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State." Are you in a militia? If not, you don't need a gun. Period.

  • @skidawg22 That hast to be the stupidest interpretation of the 2nd Amendment that I have ever heard. Am I in a Militia? Yes I am. I am in the Garland County Citizens Militia. See I just made my own Militia. Anybody can form a Militia you fucking moron and you need to study the writings of our Founding Fathers better if you think that they only intended for Militiamen to have guns. The Law states very plainly that the Government is not responsible for your safety. YOU ARE!

  • @DanielDamascusKimery First of all, who the fuck are you calling a moron? All I'm going to say is that I'm willing to bet that you don't live in a major urban area. Otherwise, you wouldn't be spewing this crap. Have a nice life and shut your damn mouth.

  • @skidawg22 So you deflect away from "the Militia" because I destroyed your argument. That's typical of you Libtards. An Urban area? That would be all the more reason for me to want a gun. Do you really think outlawing guns is going to keep criminals from having them? How old are you and what part of the country do you live in? You sound like a hippy faggot from California.

  • @DanielDamascusKimery yeah i really want someone who hates gays to own a gun.

  • @MachinaSapien Shut up Fag!

  • @DanielDamascusKimery well youre just a regular modern day jesus arent you?

so good to see christians as far removed from christ as humanly possible. proves the whole thing is a sham.

  • @MachinaSapien I'm an Atheist you fucking Moron and if you think the Bible is tolerant of fags then you must be reading the wrong book. They are in the same category as child molesters and beastialitist according to the Christian God so get over it and find a God that likes you shitdick.

  • @DanielDamascusKimery jesus says not 1 word, NOT EVEN 1, about homosexuals in the bible or anywhere else. anything beyond jesus's teachings is propaganda made to serve the human church's purposes.

  • @MachinaSapien Keep telling yourself that shitdick.

  • @DanielDamascusKimery thats actually 100% accurate.....but i wouldnt expect someone who feels so guilty about having homosexual thoughts that calls others shitdick to know anything factual whatsoever. are you a self hating gay? im sure the republican party can help you with that.

  • @DanielDamascusKimery Someone needs a hug!

  • @skidawg22 Thomas Jefferson owned guns and he wasn't in a Militia.

  • the democrats should have used the opportunity to address gun control much more agressively. they are such pussies its disgusting. how many armed mad men do we need to let loose at high schools, universities and malls before someone puts a ban on guns? how many people have to die? all guns do is create problems, they don't solve anything!!

  • I think services for mental health is a much more important topic. Seems like some people want to cut the money for drugs that keep the insane sane. Seems pretty dumb when we let people walk around with guns. Why do people so need a machine gun? You really want to shoot me that badly? You are that afraid of your neighbors? Really, you wouldn't be able to start a violent revolution with guns anyways. You need tanks and heavy artillery. You want normal people with those too?

  • Why does no one remember that the Reagan administration excluded Mental health from National coverage under social security and millions of Mentally impaired people ended up on the streets.?????????????????????????

  • There is no one to blame but the man who held the gun, Jared was the only one responsible for this there is no one else to point fingers to. Everyone needs to realize that in life we have a choice, either the path if prosperity or a path of destruction. This is what makes our country suck people trying to say it was so and so, it's almost like your trying to defend this Jared guy. Jared is the only one to blame not Rush, not Sarah, and to the conservatives this wasn't Bill Mahers fault either

  • @gravymits You'd like that wouldn't you? That would absolve the violence inciting right of their responsibility and accountability for the part they played in this tragedy. Of course there are crazy people out there. That's why, if you prostrate yourself as someone of influence, with goals to run for president, you DON'T spew out hate speach; you don't incite violence against all those who oppose you, the way the republicans and Palin have been doing for too long. Actions have consequences!!

  • @nvieira100 Obama has refered to Conservatives as enemies on several occasions since he has been President....do you have a problem with that? I'm not a Palin fan, but the constant mud slinging in her direction by the left is both disgusting and unwarranted. She'll never make it past the primaries so what do you care what she does?...and the contention that she has incited violence against the left is an outright lie...it's this kind of BS that lost you the House last election.

  • @nvieira100 Im neither a democrat or republican I dont support neither

  • @gravymits people are products of their environment. a poisonous environment poisons people and their minds. Jared is just one manifestation of our societal sickness. We are not a healthy nation- fiscally, physically, or mentally.

We should definitely be reflecting on why these things happen so often here.

There are large forces at work that we struggle to understand.

  • JFKs assassintaion was used to push through civil rights?? Where did Maher get that from?

  • worst dressed person in the history of broadcasting, Carville...

  • @vigowry You may be right about that...actually, I thought the shirt was kinda cool, lol

  • bigdicksmallnuts is the reason why this country is in the toilet.. lol.

  • I love guns. make sure you buy your guns now lolol

  • Briefly, James Carville is a genuine political mastermind. The 2nd Amendment is a fundamental right in the Constitution. Even more, culturally AND socially, the Democrats would not benefit from politicizing the awful tragedy from a 2nd Amend perspective. Rather, as J. Carville said, it is a mental health issue.

  • @argentinata yes, having a well armed militia is a fundamental right in the constitution. Show me where this guy having semi-automatic weapons is a fundamental right in the constitution. You won't be able to. But hey, keep trying.

  • @tristramshandy3 the founders wanted people to bare arms that were suitable for battle at the time. what's the point of americans carrying around flintlocks in the year 2011? technology changes, and that change doesn't invalidate rights. does the 1st amendment only apply to printing presses of the 1790s?

  • @thekingofcorsairs why did they use the term "militia", which implies an organized group of people? There is NO MENTION of the rights of individuals to own guns or weapons of any kind.

A free press is a central component of representative government. You literally CANNOT have a representative government and a media that is beholden to the powerful- as we do today.

People owning guns is NOT a central component of representative government, therefore, the analogy is not valid.

    Have a great night!

  • @tristramshandy3 "There is NO MENTION of the rights of individuals to own guns or weapons of any kind." EXCEPT FOR: "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Details.

How is media "beholden to the powerful" and why is that incompatible with representative govt? The media looks free and diverse to me, certainly freer than anywhere else in the world. Why isn't gun ownership a central component? By what means should people revoke their consent in the face of force?

  • @thekingofcorsairs well, our nuclear "arms" race with russia includes the word "arms", so nuclear weapons are therefore "arms" as well. Should a citizen be able to own one? And if not, at what specific weapon do we draw the line and say- okay, no one dude can have that much power?

The media plays a CENTRAL role in any representative society. It cannot be consolidated into the hands of the powerful. Go back and watch the coverage leading to the Iraq invasion. It was a disgrace!

  • @tristramshandy3 The right to bear arms is for personal protection...your argument is just silly.

  • @NakedLadyMudFlap the constitution never says that.

  • @tristramshandy3 The Constitution dodn't address SA weps cause they hadn't been invented yet....and the right to bear arms is there to protect us from the Government....to protect us from ANYONE that would take away our freedom. Unfortunatelyy, there is a downside to the freedom to bear arms....crazy people get guns and do bad things with them....But I would rather have a gun and not need it than need it and not have it. I haven't fired a gun since Nam..but I have one..and I WILL keep it.

  • @NakedLadyMudFlap why the term "militia" then? There were certainly individuals in the 1700's.

  • The 2nd amendment is ambiguous but we're judging the meaning through modern eyes and ears and that is difficult to do. It does say that the "people" have the right to bear arms...and the Supreme Court has ruled recently that both the State Gov and the Feds cannot change that right based on the Militia argument. Your argument is meaningless anyway even if I agreed with you. Guns can't be regulated in the USA...that ship has sailed.

  • @NakedLadyMudFlap your conclusion is baseless, and probably inaccurate. But I hope it felt good to say :)

  • @tristramshandy3 What part of my statement is baseless or inaccurate. Thr Amendment speaks about Militia and then talks about the "people" and that's ambiguous...and the SCOTUS has ruled aginst the Militia argument twice recently and that's a fact...just because you don't want to hear that, doesn't make it inaccurate...look it up for yourself.

  • @NakedLadyMudFlap the baseless part was the conclusion- that we cannot regulate guns in any way- that the ship has sailed. Precedent has been overturned many times before- especially with activist judges on the right- bush v gore or citizens united.

Have you read the essays of Montaigne?

He was the greatest man to ever live.

  • @tristramshandy3 Maybe I should have explained the comment....the ship has sailed because there is an estimated 200 million guns of various sorts in private hands in the United States....trying to put gun regulations into place is a bridge too far in the first place and violates the Constitution in the second place...it is simply an impossibility. Even if you changed the law, you will never change the fact....guns in private hands is here to stay.

  • @NakedLadyMudFlap the law has a long history of not giving two shits what reality is doing- take a look at the drug war, for example. Anyone with an iq above 7 can see it has failed and will never work, yet the law remains.

If there are a few more episodes like there were in my little abode of Tucson over the next few months, and there probably will be, lawgivers will give in to the inevitable pressure that will build.

People shouldn't be allowed to have semi-automatic weapons.

    Period.

  • @tristramshandy3 Semi auto just means that you have to pull the trigger everytime you shoot and is a red herring for the left...the real goal is total gun control and has already been codified into law in several places and then ruled against by the SCOTUS...as being unconstitutional...it's not only unconstitutional, but there are 10s of millions of citizens that Will NOT give you their guns. I WILL NOT let the Liberals in this country take my guns.

  • @NakedLadyMudFlap do you believe Jared Laughner should have been able to have a gun that shoots dozens of people in seconds or do you believe in any restriction whatsoever? Can a citizen have a rocket launcher? Can they have nuclear weapons? Where is the line drawn sir?

    Good day.

  • @tristramshandy3 I think that the liberals in this country want to change American society into a Socialist State and deprive us of our individualism. I need to defend myself and my family against insane liberalism...naked men in parks laws and such. I own a business and I've been robbed several times...do I have the right to defend myself? A car can kill dozens of people in seconds...should we ban them? I'll keep my guns and you keep your piety.

  • @NakedLadyMudFlap I think the corporations want to turn us into an oligarchy. Actually, I think they have been largely successful. And nobody fired a single shot. Guns don't protect democratic republics- educated, informed citizens do. My liberalism is anti-huge corporation at its foundation.

Of course you have the right to defend yourself. Do you need uzis and automatic weapons to do it?

If so, try a change of lifestyle- you have too many enemies.

The benevolent has no enemy- Mencius.

  • @tristramshandy3 If I give you my guns, I give you my Freedom. I am personally related to the Founding Fathers and am a war vet...you're NOT getting my guns and I don't care what law N Polosi passes. It's unfortunate what happened in Arizona...but crazy people do crazy stuff and Im not responsible for it. Our Local liberals passed a law allowing men to use women's bathrooms...naked men can use public parks in Seattle...and you want me to allow that stupidity to take my guns? Surely you Jest.

  • your freedom doesn't depend on guns, it depends on having a well educated citizenry.

"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was and never will be"- Thomas Jefferson.

Keep your guns. Have a good time. But if the govt decides it wants to tyrannize you, your guns aren't worth any more than a salt shaker. Remember- the govt has nuclear weapons, bunker buster bombs and trillions of dollars worth of weaponry.

    You already are defenseless.

  • @tristramshandy3 The US Military will not support the brutilization of the people. I am well educated and it's the so called "Progessives" that Im afaid of...not the Army. We have the Right to bear arms and we won't give it up because some mad man shot people. You can make chlorene gas from bleach and drano...should we ban them? The point is that the gun isn't the problem..JL could have driven over and killed people in his car...if you want to Kill people, there are plenty of ways without a gun.

  • @NakedLadyMudFlap I admire your confidence in the US military- but I think its naive.

    You claim to be well-educated.

I'd like to hear what your qualifications are to make such a claim.

    I just don't know many "well-educated" conservatives.

    There are exceptions...or so I'm told :)

    Take care.
