um i guess what would have helped in the first place is if all 4 wheels were powered unlike that one that didn't even spin the front wheel shown brings up some questions about the 4wd system
i was rescued the other day by a toyota prado, i stupidly drove across in my Falcon what i thought was a grassy feild only to sink in a bog hole hidden buy that grass, it was only 2 meters in diameter and i drove right through the center of it, 2 hours of jacking and digging did little, luckly a good man in a prado stoped laughing long enough to tow me out (would have made it if i had gone faster but i didnt see the bog hole) - go the prados!!
yes mate i have . the lsd works fine its the front that 90 % of the time comes unstuck.acceleration had little to to with it other than if i had of hit it faster i would have got through. but it was too rough
No LSD works fine. They all suck and are only marginally better than a open diff. With an LSD you have to have wheel spin in order for it to engage, and by then in most cases you're already stuck and its actually making things worse. Lockers or selectable lockers do not have to wait for this, they are locked sitting still and only un-lock if a turn is made correctly, off throttle. Auto lockers are a ***** on road but indispensable offroad. Selectable is king.
yeah it is 4wd . But unless you have a front diff lock then it wont always spin both fronts at the same time. As far as i know its like this with all 4wds.
@juankyboy123 , Hmmm i dont really agree, i had a fair few 4x4s and been on quite a few trips and id say the articulation out of the factory on the prado of that year model is actually quite surprising ! but your entitled to your opinion i just wonder wether its an informed one?

lol, nah i dont have a GT im just a big fan of em, you have an XB eh cool, is it a project or already done up?
BTW snow chains can be substituted for mud tyres if your on a budjet or you do more hway driving then off-roading.

love the prado; great car. can see how you got stuck there...muddy grass at the front and mud puddle at the back: anyone would get stuck in that.
sadly lots of wind noice cancelling out the sound of the toyota :(

the only way to succeed in this situation would be to get as much momentum as possible...
