Very awsome drawing at the end of 1989 MCI Classic #59-017. I wish those 1989s are still on the road, they could've rebuilt them to run 10 more years.
@qwandiddy Thanks man, its not as nice as my STCUM New look but still cool! I'll tell you something funny about the '89 Classics. It was the first year for the 6-71 Detroit Turbo, and last year for roll sign. I also recall specifically a snowy day like we had this week and took a brand new '89 MCI Classic in ROxboro. The enthusiastic and lucky driver was driving the 206 route. I was 13 going on 14 yrs old.
@qwandiddy I didnt know that, but it might still be around. Its possible it could even be in for a rebuild. I worte a letter to a very respected talk show host today, to rattle a few cages about the STM spending habits in recent years...Specificaly these cheap ass 29-000 and 30-000 LFSsss with horrible and CHEAP seats, suspension, among other bullshit. Im not through talking to everybody and everybody about this, cause im paying for these buses like everybody else god dam it!!
@retroolschool To tell the truth, I'll rather spend my hard working money to support these Classics, rebuild them, maintained them with gadgets in them than buying no good buses like Orion VII, New Flyers, Gillig Advantage, NABI other crap buses making today.
@qwandiddy You know man I really liked your question, because it made me search for a photo of this bus since I didint even know that it was Novabus's first Classic. I did indeed find a nice sunny shot of it that I took in slide format. It wasnt in the est of shape and think it was probably retired soon after I saw it.
Rust in peace you amazing and neglected machines~:(
