@tuke8 well for starters the pc I am talking about is 15.6" the battery lasts about 4 hours maybe, It's pretty good for such a game craving machine. Maybe if you have got crysis 2 on or Battlefield 3 the battery life may go down to 2-3 hours. A machine like this needs to stay plugged on. If your going on the move, get the alienware m11x I heard the battery lasts for 8 hours which is crazy but it's specs aren't as good as the pc I mentioned.

@tehbluespy Not only the screen and resolution gets irritating but the spaces inbetween the keys are so close together, its a pain in the ass to type. Also, comfort space where you rest your palm is rly small, so your hand gets crammed forcing you to position your hand in an awkward way so that your palms don't press the keys. I only used the m11x for about 2 weeks before i sold it and got a m14x. I think the m14x is the perfect mix between performance, size, and comfort.

@tehbluespy I can carry the m14x as easily as I did with the m11x and it has an optical drive inside :]. If you want a clear big screen, but worry about the size, I say get the m14x immediately. Yea, you're right the fan can get loud, and the laptop itself can get really hot, but if you get the cooler master cooling pad there won't be a problem with either heat or noise. If you live in a cold place, you won't need a cooling pad anyways :] I've been very satisfied and don't regret upgrading

@Andirwan my personal opinion, if you want gaming performance and don't mind netbook size...the m11x would be perfect for you. But like I said, it has no internal optical drive, meaning you're going to have to buy an extra one if you want to play or install things from a cd...and the screen is only 11.6 inches. And unless if you dont mind cramped typing, i guess the keyboard won't be a problem either.

But if you want to get a m11x, I say go for the revision 3. The r1 with the core 2 is weak

@em34ev3r tks, the internal optical drive is not really a problem. I did have a 14inch laptop which for me was perfect (screen size) I sold it months ago. Recently someone gave me a hp mini (not my daily computer) but I don't know, think the 10inch screen is not really a problem. So my point didn't know which one to choose m14x or m11x. I did a lot and lot of research but people like you who explain between the m11x and m14x really made me think which one to choose..

But m11x is great cost, its a pain in the ass to play with a 11inch screen indeed but I do have a 22inch hdmi screen so it's not a problem. @em34ev3r optical drive really not a problem. Soon we will even use it. If I want to format I can do it via usb tool. Watching movie I do have a external hard disk, or download on the internet. Playing games, again DL or buy it on steam..+ you can buy for cheap an external optical drive ^^. Can you tell me what m11x you've got? r1,r2,3. And the battery consumption between m11x and m14x? I don't really believe on the site preferred hearing people like you, thanks a lot.

@tehbluespy I've owned the m11x and to be honest...If you dont travel a lot, I wouldn't get it. First, its pretty heavy/bulky for such a "small," laptop, and alienware trying to sell it as a netbook. netbook format means no internal optical drive, which can be very inconvenient if you need to use CD applications. Third, some may not mind, but I noticed I was really bothered by the size of the screen. It's only 11.6 inches, so gaming, and just doing daily things on the laptop gets irritating.
