Perhaps the reason that TR2N was renamed Tron legacy was that TRON is the acronym for TRACE ON which was used in nix and tandy basic.

yes i think poorlymadeproduction is either very young or poorlying informed. Tron was a movie first. released durring the hight of 80's arcade revolution. The Tron Game (arcade machines) was a spin-off from the movie. Although the games themselves were takes on succesfull game title like TANK/ pacman robotron, QIX. Discs of tron was original. and probably will take center stage in the new film. Keep in mind younglings Tron came at a time when computer based gaming was brand new.

eh, tron wasn't a game. it was a movie. then a game was made. tron 2.0 was actually the 2nd movie but in game form. Tron 3 (TR2N or now known as Tron Legacy) is the newest tron based thing. so far that is the only movie slash video game combination that didn't suck

not it wasn't This game cam out AFTER tron. This game is actually the second movie, and then Tron legacy i guess is meant to be the 3rd movie (That's why it was renamed from TR2N to Tron Legacy because Tron legacy isn't exactly #2 but #3.

The original TRON actually took some computer programming terms seriously rather than making up a bunch of crap....even though it's still a silly tech plot (but SUCH a guilty pleasure). What's really creepy about the new movie is how they make a 60yo Jeff Bridges look 30-ish again. ;-)

Mostly though video games released AFTER the movies generally suck a lot. take Indiana jones for example. after the movie came out they made a game off of it which was actually terribly made. but there are some great games made off of movies so in a sense were both right.

actually there are alot of good games based off video games, like golden eye for the n64, lord of the rings battle for middle earth for pc 1 and 2 were good, some star wars games are great and recently xmen origins wolverine wasnt half nad. Now, a movie based on a video game? Its possible i think. The really no-plot simple video game movies will always be bad and any with a plot more complex then walking to the right was done by ewe boll. A good game with a good director just might work

I ripped the audio from tron 2.0 for computer and they are HEAVILY divided. I had to piece them together. They are divided into parts and must be assembled.
