  • Hi,

I would like to ask a question. I hope you would respond to this. I recently dropped my nokia 5800xm and it became super sensitive, ie it cant even experience slight vibration and it will turn off automatically. Sometimes, I cant even turn it on.

So, I decided to follow your video and dismantled my phone just to see if there is anything wrong inside. After I reassembled my phone, it cant turn on at all! No vibration whatsoever. Any idea what's wrong with it?

    Thank you.

  • thank u. that helped a bunch

  • Thanks for clear instructions and video, easily replaced LCD screen saving myself £50! Excellent job mate.

  • @sarahtobin Glad i could help. Saving £50 was why i did this in the first place.

  • can you do a video on replacing the lcd for nokia 5610 xpress music? thanks.

  • @wanchi313 No, I don't have one. Simple as that. I don't have the income/funds to do that.

  • Thanks for this video - it helped me successfully replace my digitzer!

  • Hi,

Can you advise on how to change 5800 digitizer, i.e taking off gold strip from phone case, what tools etc i need or does this just pop off thanks, will this damage anything if i replace this.

  • @nav0121 The clip just pops up and pops down. IT's fairly simple, but you can use a flat head screw driver to help, if its a bit stiff.

  • @Wise808Productions hi thanks, just to confirm we are talking about the four small circles that pop off from the digitizer screen or from the innerside of phone? i'm talking about the non inner side, also the far left circle has a silver barrier over it which may hard to gett off or damage is that the case normally?

  • nice tut helped me loads.

  • does anyone know what size is the blue screwdriver ?

in order to replace only the front plastic faceplate (around the glass) do I need to open the screwes ?

  • @25nycguy T4/T5. They are stared shaped.

  • thanks for your reply.

how do I replace the front plastic plate around the digitizer ? it is can be pop out easily with no need to open the back screws ?

  • quick tip: tape a magnet to the screw driver

  • i dont have one of those screwdrivers what can i use??

  • @narutosaenz a small flathead screw driver can also work, but it is harder.

  • I cant get mines to turn on anymore

  • Good video cheers! bit of advice anyone...ive recently dropped my phone in water (gutted) the touch screen works fine for about 30 seconds then dies.. do you recon its water still in the case/circuit board short circuiting the phone? would taking it apart and giving a good brush down help? or does it need anything replaing? any help would be appreciated!

  • @hassa69 I would suggest taking you phone apart, then leaving it in an airing cupbord over night, at least for 6-7 hrs. Then putting it back together and trying it then. if it doesn't work send it to Nokia.

  • @hassa69 you can also take it apart and leave it in dry rice overnight, that usually sucks all the water out and thoroughly dries the phone

  • Followed your guide & changed my knackered old screen, cheers.

  • my screen cracked=(

  • maybe you can help me

when i get a text massage i dont have any sound or anything

    any idea's? =/

  • @petaaaaa08 same here. shit=( how

  • We just used this video to disassemble our Nokia 5800 xpress music. It was really easy to follow. Thanks so much. You saved us a lot of money from having to send the phone out to a shop for repair.

  • Great vid. Thanks.

  • he man i was wondering if u can help me out .imy phone reception is very bad indoor so i serached for support and found this:

"The problem is caused by antenna. Antenna is at the bottom-back side of the phone. It is connected to the main board (pcb) with two pins. I found that this pins have no good contact to antenna and then I soldered them to directly to the anttenna, anttenna can be damaged and it can be out of order. Now it is Ok it is working well "

can you guide me through?thx in advance

  • Thaks for the video, but who the fuck was holding the fucking camera. He did a fucking tarrible job at it. Can't fucking see what was going on from him zooming in and out fucking every second. You should fucking smack him for that. Afterall whats the poit you can't see what was going on when trying to learn how to do something. Right???

  • hi do u knw how to fix the screen for it cos mins crackd n the pixle ar finne its just the plastic thats cracked

  • @krishantr if the pixels are fine and the touch screen is fine then your screens are fine... You can easily find replacment parts on ebay. Just find the right one and replace it.

  • If i send you my phone do you think you can figure out whats wrong with it? Like my phone will restart its self or if i push the lock button my screen will mess up

  • @DaShyria I think it would be better to send ur phone to nokia for that. I don't think it is a quick fix....

  • Can you please tell me how to remove the ribbon cable that connects the touchscreen cover to the phone, as seen at 2:50 ? Please can you answer this

  • @georgetickner If you watch the rest of the vid it does show you.

  • @georgetickner if you watch the rest of the vid it shows you.

  • Can I get the screwdriver from any hardware store? or do I have to go to a special store that sells them? :)

  • @ElectroHands If you are simply dismantling your case, eBay is the place to go. Normal hard ware sores wont stock the screwdrivers as they are specilist equipment.

  • whats the use of dismantling your phone?!

  • @ksausa14 If you break one of the screens, you can save over £40 by replacing them yourself.

  • I have uploaded a new video on Reassembling Your Nokia5800.

  • Update: I've successfully changed my touch panel, the phone is working fine. The little thing im facing now is that the metal type cover which i took apart form my old touch panel and attach it to the new one didnt stick properly to it, so whenever i use the phone, it feels sloppy, like the touchscreen is not tight.. any solution?? i hear minor click click type voice when i press something, anything else i can do to make the panel tight?

  • @yodude010 It may mean your screws are not tight enouth. If you got your screen from ebay, then you may have brought a slightly duff screen. Part of the risk of cheaper screens from ebay... :S

  • @Wise808Productions

Well, after messing for quite a long time, i figured out that there is nothing wrong with the touchscreen, but i was not following the proper procedure. So, here is how it goes. First you need to attach the touchscreen with the front cover, when it fits inside it properly, then attach it to the phone, its quite better now!

  • Thank you so much for such a nice tutorial.. I'll change my touchscreen digitizer tonight by watching your video. Thanks again and thumbs up!

  • yes,very detail....thanks ur video.....

  • This has been a great help, thanks for sharing

  • hi mate

hi dropped my 5800 on the floor, today at work :/ the cable that connects the touch screen broke :/ now my touch doesn't work , but the LCD Screen is fine.

  • realy g8 after watching you film i have just replaced my digytizer screen i know have a working phone many thanks

  • @g8mum1 Np, Glad to hear i could help :D

  • great informative video!! the camera is too much shaky!

one question though! you said that if we just need to change the housing (front and back) we have to go up to the second set of screws which is the 2 serew am i right?

  • @kanu2k7 @3:16 there is a second set of 2 screws. Looking through ebay you do need to remove these. Seeing as this is a fairly common question (looking at another vid) I will do a vid on replacing the compleate casing.

  • So Sub. Found a nice gold casing thats cheap. Will try it out for you.

Oh and sorry for the camera work. My M8's first time as you need both ur hands to dismanle ur phone. (and i not got a tripod....) Sos.

  • thanks mate!

i will be waiting for your update!!

  • Nice vid man.

I just bought a 5800 housing off of ebay so this will really come in handy. Thanks

  • @wOOlolz You wont need to go down as far as me. You only need to go up to the second set of screws, if you are replaing your case. :D
