dog fish are a lot of fun to catch, the only problem is when you're really fishing and have a good chum slick going they get in there and chase all the game fish away....but, when nothing is biting and you have chum in the boat, dog sharks are the way to go...lots of fun, especially for the kids. Nice video..the kids looked like they had a great time, and in the end, that's all that really matters...

dogfish usually school and swim together, especially over the skate pods. So, as a general rule of thumb with Maryland and Virginia fishing when catching one "puppy" you are sure to catch many so if they are not your target fish it's really best to move and find another location. They are fun to catch, non the less and this charter was mostly kids so this trip looked like they had fun anyway and that is what it is all about....

Hey, idk if im right but it looked like you were fishin the bottom.. if so you should remember tht cobia fishing is "sight fishing" meaning that you idle down the waters looking for the fish to surface or for manta rays that it could be following, and such.

Virginia does a lot of bottom fishing/chumming for cobia. Sight fishing happens a lot as well but more so later in the summer.
