  • 0:08 That was indeed the thing from "Horizons". Disney always leaves little traces of past attractions.

  • Best most intense ride i have ever been on! The feelings you get from this ride are far more intense than any roller coaster i have been on. By far the best feeling in the world, even better than any drugs/drink! ;)

I felt a little dizzy after the ride, but recovered after 15-20 mins. Would i go on it again? YES! But will be prepared for the dizzy feeling after. I advise a stiff beer to help with recovery at the British bar! LOL :)

  • @m4553y When you launch, does it hurt and is the launch hard to handle?

  • @Kendraco1 You feel like you are floating, its a strange feeling to be honest. It's like those rides that spins you and you stick to the wall but 10 times worse.

It's like the feeling you get from a wooden rollercoaster when you go over the hill, you know the feeling of floating you get but it lasts for like 30-40 secs rather than a few secs.

I liked the feeling whilst on the ride, it just made me feel little dizzy afterwards. Half way on the ride, it calms down a little.

    WORTH GOING ON!!!!!

  • did u get yelled at anytime for filming? because when i tried filming on some rides they told me to put my camera away lol. Do you hide it before the ride starts or? any tips?

  • ive got a question, when you lost autopilot, did you control the plane thing?

  • i really like that ride

  • Is this like the Harry potter ride at universal?

  • i went to the orange team and i was the pilot

  • yesterday i went to epcot with my mom and her botfriend and my sister and i went on mission space and it fun i would go on it again if i wont to

  • For me, the best ride in EPCOT. Little nerbous before (and doesn't help that you're thing breaks down right before you get on it o-o) but it was a thrilling experience and a great ride.

  • omg i didnt kno stu redman wuz an astronaut

  • I rode the orange ride, it gives you a real authentic feeling of going from lots of G's to weightlessness, but it makes you feel so sick, there is clear evidence of pavement pizzas outside the ride, and that they provide sick bags on the ride shows how common a problem this is. Glad i went on it, but wont be riding again.

  • If you go on the intense one, you will really get dizzy.

  • truly the most intense simulator I've ever been on. You're shaking, you feel so much g-force, you feel verticallly turned up and you have to press buttons. you know a kid died on it

  • do u actually have to press the buttons when u go on the ride or do they just say that

  • When I went on this ride I was pilot :)

  • couldnt of got through this ride without lt dan! lol

  • that ride was 2 hour for stand by but it was 1 hour for fast pass we didnt go on tho :(

  • To the one person who thumbs downed this vid, don't try to be smart cause you're not

  • Since when is the orange team line that short, did you go to Disney during a hurricane or something?

Great ride though, I love it!

  • i got engineer

  • @BlakCometProductions pilot ^^;

  • This ride is awesome, its one of my favorites

  • i rode this in 2008 when there was orange/green team i chose orange and i loved it i was just a lil dizzy but thats it

  • What about Earthquake?

Keep in mind I haven't ridden it since '04, but I think I remember the Pre-Show being boring...

  • @Bladethepokefreak

It has the guy from CSI and Apollo 13 in it.

  • Man, I spent the rest of day in the infirmary. Crazy shit, bro.

  • omfg there were barf bags!? DAMM IT

  • Comment removed

  • I love this ride. I'm one of those "wussies" that has to do the Green Team, though - I've got inner ear issues. Lol I'd probably come off the Orange Team side not being able to walk or see straight for a week.

    Still an awesome ride. :D

  • Im goin to florida for the 2nd time on 14th july this year =D stayin in the animal kingdom lodge! whoohoo...x

  • i love this ride, my friends are wussies tho i have to go on the less intense mission, i perfer the more intense one tho.

  • OMG Lieutenant Dan, you got your legs!

  • hahahahahahaha

  • MAGIC LEGS! Titanium alloy, like they use on the space shuttle! lol!

  • How mild is green?

Like is it mild enough for people who have to watch for gforce blackout? Because I want to ride, but I don't want to, you know, black out. :D

  • Orange side spins; green side does not. Green is like a regular simulator. No G forces at all.

If you can do simulators with no problem, you'll be fine on Green Team.

  • Awesome! Thanks! :D

  • No problem; hope you like it! This is one of my favorite rides in Epcot, second only to Soarin'.

  • @SilverDesertRose green does NOT have the ride spin, orange DOES

  • @SilverDesertRose my brother (8 years old) went on orange and loved it so i highly suggest orange green is very mild

  • fasho

  • going to disneyworld may tenth!!!!!!

  • goin to florida on the 17th of may can't f*ckin wait

  • i dont know whether to go on orange or green (going to orlando in a week)

  • We just got home. If you want the whole G Force experience go Orange. Green is cool too, just milder. (We did both) Either way, it was my favourite of all the attractions at any of the parks. Have fun!!

  • thanks. I just found the wikipedia page on mission: space and found out it only goes to 2.5g so I am going to go on orange. Can't wait till I fly to Florida on Saturday!

  • It's funny that 2.5g's are still extreme enough to kill some people.

  • My favorite ride is Space Mountain. This is a good ride

  • Orange is intense.

  • Is this a good ride? I'm going to Epcot soon, and I want to know which rides are good before I go.

  • i dun know, byt i think a kid got a stroke on this ride

  • this ride is awesome and intense, but make sure you can handle it!

  • my favourite ride in epcot

  • I can't remember if I went on orange or green :-/ I need to go again, LOL XD

  • If you could feel the G's pessing down at takeoff, then you definetely took orange.

  • Yeah, I remember now; it was orange, b/c the first time I went on, it was 2004 and that was before they made the green/orange option...the ride then was just what is now orange :)

  • the best ride in disney i went on it twice, it feels so real

  • i luv this dnt go on green tho its rubbsih go on orange

  • I rode orange 7 times in a row!

  • dude, i wish i had your stamina. i rode this back in 2005, before they had the orange/green option. the ride messed with my head, and i haven't been on it since! i don't even trust green team! i guess i learned my lesson after that expereince: me and simulators don't go well together. you'd think i'd've learned after riding Body Wars at the late, great Wonders of Life; apparently not. :(

  • I rode this back in '04, also without the Orange/Green thing.

...I rode it 8 times in 2 days....

  • green really is nothing

  • It was originally just the standard ride (now orange), but due to two deaths on the ride (Dec. 05 and April 06 (Indeed, the April death was the afternoon of the day I was there)), they decided to modify the ride to give people the option of taking a more gentle version.

  • Oh, okay. Then that means I went on orange b/c the first time was in '04...

  • HEY!!It's lieutenant Dan! that is briefing us Orange got my mom sick i still have to be every person in the mission i was the pilot navigator and mostly the comander never the engineer

  • i rode this 4 times in a rowe on orange team XD (my parents chickened out and went on green XD

  • i was waiting and i got SO scared cause we were doin orange, So i saked the lady, Can i get out of here? so i did and i was told it was nauseiating. THX WARNINGS!

  • i just got back from disney yesterday and i rode this 4 times in a row!!!!

    well green team XD

  • this ride is so cool and realistic. wen u launch, it is like ur cheeks are flapping and u r goin so fast. it is kool and freaky at the same time. awesome.

  • wut is green like? ive never been on green, only orange.

  • yeah i love green. i haven't tried orange yet.

  • it is intense. you feel about i think 5 g's

  • It feels like it, but in truth, you're actually pulling 2Gs.

  • what numbers belong to what could someone tell me please?

i want to be either commander or pilot :)

  • The numbers you stand on are for team designations only. When you're in the "prep area" (the big circular room just outside of the simulators) Lt. Dan- er, the commander.. will highlight each position to show you who does what. But standing in the 2nd or 3rd space from the front in the briefing room will get you the Pilot or the Commander seat

  • i cant wait to ride this ride!

  • i just realized that the spinning thing in the queue is from a movie that i forgot the name of and the "capcom" was from that movie too.

  • 2001: A Space Odyssey

  • i thought that space mountain's themeing was based off that movie though. i think the movie that mission space is based off of was mission to mars (just remembered)

  • Thank you so much for this video - I really appreciate the fact that you recorded some footage from the pre-ride queue!

  • No problem =)

  • do actually do stuff with the buttons and controls??

  • green is better for me

  • this is one of my favorite rides at EPCOT, and my fav park.. also like sorin

  • How fast do you spin?

  • you dont really feel the spin....the spin of the ship makes it feel like you have g force pressure on your face.......but to answer.....holy christ fast

  • do u really have to push buttons?

    it looks fun

  • You don't have to, but it makes it fun!

  • ok

i really want to go but on orange do u feel alot of pressure on u as ur goin into space and does it hurt?

or is it just really fun?

  • I didn't find it at all painfull. Just fun

  • @NorthEastCoasters I feel G force on my face when I take off in mission space.

  • @horselover668194 yes but you get reallly dizzy

  • Yeah! Go Orange! I usually get sick on spinning rides but, this ride is so high tech that as long as you look directly at the screen it DOES NOT feel like you are spinning. It just feels like you are getting pushed back in your seat. I LOVE THIS RIDE!!

  • GO ORANGE!!!!

  • GO ORANGE!!!!

  • i want to go on this so bad! last time i was in disney i chickened out because i HATE motion sickness and i hear this ride has that written all over it. but next time im going to suck it up. my vomit will be worth it.

  • My aunt wanted me to do the green side so that i wouldn't get sick or anything. I got of disappointed and wanting more. Next time i go back, i'm definitely hitting orange.

  • lolz i got orange!it was awesome

  • Good luck!

  • the best ride in disney i went on it twice

    it feels so real

  • when-ever i've gone the single rider line has always been the shortest wait, then of course i did and do go off season when the crowds are down

  • the wait was 10 minutes? what time did you ride it? omg

  • It was in the morning, but it was January 21st, 2007. It was empty all day!

  • well im jealus. I go in July, and its always so crowded!

  • OMG i was just there too

  • the difference?, simply, in normal you enjoy it and get sleepy after is over. in advance you crap your pants, literally.

  • best disney ride ever!!

  • That's a matter of opinion. I myself find this ride nothing more than a thrill ride with a big budget. It's pretty uninspiring.

  • im going on this ride in december 31st....wats the difference between normal and advance?

  • normal (green team) is just gives the feeling of a normal motion simulator and moves forward, backward, left and right. advance (orange team) does the same thing but spins very fast at the same time. i would suggest trying green first then orange. also, green usually has a shorter line than orange so it would be a good starter. finally, dont go on orange if you think you can't handle it because it is probably one of the most intense rides at wdw (including coasters in wdw). hope that helps

  • thanx man...that did help but my bro is an asshole and is gonna make me go on orange...so if i get sick im trowing up on Him lol...i usually like these things anyways so i dont really have to worry...i always freek out on someting then end up loving it

  • im going to epcot before the end of the year this year and im having second thoughts about riding this ride. can anyone tell me how one feels while riding? is it like going down a really high roller coaster drop? cos i kinda dont like it when i feel pain in my stomach.

  • There are no drops. All it does is spin, and the car rocks back and forth a bit. There are two sides. Green and Orange. Orange is the extreme side (POV) and the Green side doesn't spin at high speeds. Green side is for people who can't handle G-forces

  • thanks. ive been on star tours and im usually fine after that ride...should i assume that it'd be okay to ride the orange side based on that? or are they two completely different experiences?

  • You should be okay on Orange. They are both the same show, and the rocking is the same. You just don't feel the stronge G-forces.

  • just an update if you care. i finally got on this ride and found it "not that intense" lol. it was actually fun bcos my lil sis and i were screaming the whole time (it was just the two of us there so we screamed all we wanted. lol). the take off and the landing were when we felt the most "gravity." all and all, i'd like to ride it again. im surprised at how very okay i was after the ride. did not feel a bit nauseous at all. maybe cos i made sure to follow all of their instructions.

  • That's good to hear! I'm happy you enjoyed the ride! It truelly is something cool

  • This ride is awesome. I've only rode the Orange Team version, and I think that if you want to experience space travel, that is the only way to go...

The launch and lunar roll is pretty intense.

Plus when you are going 16,000 MPH+, that is pretty intense too.

The ending is way better in person too as you feel like you are about to fall into the canyon. Ofcourse, the first time, I had no idea how it was going to end, so that was the best.

  • this thing goes fast on the original one its like alot of g force

  • haha i just went on this; and i had to take the less intense version [green team] cuz i was a chicken.

  • point of view

  • Like Chicken Little! The Sky is Falling!

  • This ride was so intense, I got sick..

  • I love this ride!

I'm going on it this Friday!

  • Awesome! I'm too chicken to go on that! :-D

  • Are You Supposed To Press The Buttons?

  • Yes you are, it's a part of the attraction. If you don't press it or pull the stick, it still does it, it's just to make it interactive. And if you don't press it the computer system says, "Computer Overide"

  • ohhhh,Cool, Whats The Height Requirement There?

  • 44 inches

  • OHHHHHH THANKS DUDE

  • Yea the less intense version isn't even intense. All they do is put you in a seat and slant you smoothley back and forth. You might as well move your computer seat with the video and there you go, you experienced the less intense version of Mission:Space. By the way I like goin 3 times in a row in like 20 minutes since there is virtually no wait.

  • I don't know why they made a less intense version of this ride. That is like making a less intense version of Test Track.

  • lovvveeeedddd this ride

  • This ride made me black out. Once on the ride and once after. lol I'm so weak. I like costers better.

  • i love this ride
