The problem is that the Army isn't being realistic about video game threats. What we really have to worry in the gaming world is the president getting kidnapped by ninjas. I don't think our army is necessarily made up of bad enough dudes to save the president in this specific scenario.
@xAlucard9000x You're the only person who noticed that. I was like that too "Why the hell is Elder Scrolls being included in this? I thought they were ranting about shooters?" xD
It's not bad games, it's bad parenting. There is no way the kid reflected on the screen at 7:45 is 17+, what's he doing playing halo? We don't need to censor video games we need to make parents take some responsibility and actually watch what their snotty little brats are doing so that when they actually get to 17+ they don't still act like snotty little brats. (Yeah I know I'm probably off topic, just wanted to get that out there.)
yeah all that call of duty modern warfare shit is training kids for battle in the war... this war on "terror" isn't ever going to end in our lifetime... they're training the younger generation now!!!!!!!!
I wonder if movies and games where the soldier faces next to no consequences for his actions will affect them the same credit card advertisements have an effect on college students; sure it seems harmless enough, until the reality of the situation dons on you.
How about a video game about the guy who comes home from the war that he "fought" by pushing a button. The guy could age a little, have some maturing experiences, and start to reflect on his past actions, maybe feel shame and horror, maybe develop a budding conscience, and start to reexamine the life he has built on the killing and subjugation of others. Maybe he'd become distant from his family, realize how crass and materialistic they are, and how he has created monsters, like himself.
PS id much rather kill someone through a 'video game' using a joystick from a remote location, than actually being there and forced to take a life in reality, right in front of me, using a gun....
It's interesting how MGS2's prediction about "war as a video game" back in 2001 is increasingly becoming a reality over the years.

@areiacreations Because there is a lot of money in the war business itself. Dont expect anything like that happening anytime soon.
