It doesn't take crappy pictures...maybe you do.... I love this camera, I use it all the time, well use to until I accidentally dropped it when I got off the Great movie ride in Disney world at MGM. The Screen on the inside of the camera cracked, not outside, so when I saw that I almost cried. I take some amazing pictures with that camera and cameras in gen..it all depends on who takes the picture and how nice u want it to come out. I'm a photographer in progress, this is my life.

This camera is all looks no quality. I'm about to go traveling to Central America and needed a Camera. My mother thought this one was "neat" and got it for me.

The shots are blurry. It does "o.k." (only "ok") in Sunlight settings, but indoors, my 2 MP cell phone takes clearer shots. I'm leaving this peice of junk at home and taking my mothers Sony Cybershot. This camera is ALL LOOKS and "derp functions!" but no real quality. If you need a Cam for something serious, STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAM

neither - both of those cameras are very outdated. the newest version of the s210 is the s220 (or s230 if you want a touch-screen version,), and the newest version of the s550 is the s570. If you want something even more advanced than the s570 then get the s640.decide between those cameras. But to answer ur question i guess it depends on your needs. 570 is much more advanced than the 220, and the 640 is even more advanceed than the 570. All of the coolpix cameras are built in "stages".

This Camera does not support HD, only HQ. To the right side of the screen under your vid it will have a HQ icon for this cam that people can click on. If your cam did HD it would have an "HD" Icon to press. YouTube automatically post the Icon there as it knows what you cam can support, there is nothing you can do about it. Read my other post on this page, it you want a camera that does HD get the new sony or Coolpix S70 coming out in September.

noo i have it. it looks like the quality sucks in the begganing but its not it just looks that way on the camera because it can zoom in alot and the picture doesnt get blurry. its really defined. and it doesnt look that way when you import it on your computer. its actually a really good camera

you know camera resolution contributes little to the overall quality of the picture? i have an 8mp camera and i just changed the resolution to 2mp and its looks exactly the same as 8mp. exactly!!! what gives good quality is the lens an other factors that make up the camera. everyone thinks higher resolution = better quality. but thats dead wrong.

it actually does make a big difference. i work in a publishing field and when we are adding pictures to a spread for our a book we are making, the resolution keeps the picture from pixalating when we expand it to fit the page. when we work with a picture taken with low resolution, it takes about a days worth of photoshop to fix, so it does make a difference if you publishing, but if your the average joe putting pic on a computer or printing it, resolution wont make too much of a difference.

yes, it totally depends upon what u want to do with your pictures but they should not put so much megapixels in point & shoot cameras. they should brag about the type of lens the camera has & not the resolution. a camera could have 16 megapixels but with a shitty lens the quality will suck. I compared 2mp to 8mp on the same camera and cropped them and they pixalate at the same rate.

for video, its a different thing, resolution contributes alot to video quality. thats y we see hdtv commercials everyday. my next camera will be a hd camcorder with a 5mp camera, wish i could get a 2mp.

I have had this and the nikon s6 and i should have learned my lesson. these are not great cameras. for the money canon sd790 is is the best bang for your buck point and shoot. nikon has a sexy look but that is as far as it goes. dont get me wrong it takes good pictures but if you only want good pictures than thats good for you.

That Is my take on it, it only takes good pictures not great pictures. I would love to just whip this out cuz on the looks factor these cameras are by far the sexiest looking cameras on the market. I thunk nikon took to much time on the exterior and not as much on the internals which matters the most.

The negatives about these are right out of the box the auto feature does an ok job on taking good pictures you would have to tweek it too much just to get what you want. The other brand that i have its out of the box auto feature takes great pictures without tweeking it too much. For night pictures I think all point and shoot cameras suck, you would want to use the big boys, dslr.
