As A 49ers fan with family and friends who are mostly packers and patriots fans( 1 cowboy fan and 2 giants fans) we can honestly say that the giants are the best NFL franchise of the past 30 years. They have been a dominant NFL franchise each of the past 3 decades and have taken the chances of these teams having a great dynasty/dominant team away from them (cboys pats and 49ers would each have at least 5-7 SBs if not for NYG) Congrats to the 2011 New York Giants!
@DonPenn41 Lately they have. But we got a big win against them this year early on, 29-16 in Philly in Week 3. If Philly wins that game, they probably win the division this year.
@MrMatt8204 Hey, you guys have more titles and they can't win nfc championship games so you guys have that on them. And I'll take 4 sbs and 8 or 9 nfc/nfl championships over domination in playoffs/reg season since 60's and two miracles in the meadowlands anyday.
@ZachKsYou As a Giants fan I have the upmost respect for the Packers. These two teams are among the oldest in the league and share the richest championship rivalry (NFL Championship games & NFC Championship games) for the last 85 years. Football at its best.
@GiantsMets7760 As a Packer fan I have the upmost respect for the Giants! Us both know what Victory and Defeat feels like in our hearts! The rivalry in sports is one of the best in all competitions. What make champions is to learn from our defeats to triumpth later!
After all the words, all the analysis and all the what-if's, maybe it just comes down to what John Randle said at the end of the '98 Vikings' Missing Rings episode. "Wasn't meant to be, I guess." Sometimes that's all there is to it. For all the fans of teams who haven't gotten there yet; your day WILL come.
As a huge giants fan and i'm of course happy we won Superbowl XLVI.
But hearing this song i remember seeing Robert Kraft and that sad look on his face after the game. I really wished NBC never show him like that. It was heart breaking to watch.
Robert Kraft after all he went through with the death of his wife and the lockout, only to see his team lose again to the New York Giants at the end. He's a stand up guy and he shouldn't go out like that. Much respect to Robert Kraft and the Patriots.
@knicks3085 Makes the Giants two most recent Super Bowl championships that much sweeter. I know they beat one HELL of a football team. Major props to the Patriots for staying on top year after year.
@metathus1488 Yeah, i'm a 49ers fan but i am from boston and I loved the inspirational story the pats had going for them with the death of myra kraft and their miracle season. Most people here don't care with this loss as much as 08 . We thought pats were under dogs. Both teams played great. The "worst defense in the nfl" held the giants to field goal after field goal and made big stops. It was the pats offense that beat themselves. Giants overhyped D didn't do what id thought.
thinking of the 01 Pats...never thought i could have been so happy when they won that shit...of all the success and sb appearances...that one was the best because no one though young tom and the pats could do it....but they shocked the world...
this reminds me of my packers losing to the giants 37-20 last Sunday. Congrats giants you're destined to be the first 9-7 team to win the big one. But i never knew a loss can take so much out of me. After the loss i went in my room and couldn't hold back the tears. It just seemed like this team was destined for a repeat but you have to show up and play every game the right way. Maybe next year keep the faith packer fans.
Reminds me of the 98 Vikings loss to Atlanta in the NFC championship game. I was only 5 but I remember balling my eyes out. Also reminds me of the 09 loss to the Saints. I still have nightmares about Favre's int on our game winning drive. It just sucks knowing how many good teams we've had, but still haven't hoisted a Lombardi trophy. I get pretty upset and emotional about, I don't think theres a bigger fan out there than meI just hope we win at least one before I'm dead. Skol till I die!! Go V
@cjenney33...I gotta say the 09 Vikings loss was worse because I think that team would won the Super Bowl vs Colts. My personal opinion I dont think the 98 Vikings were that impressive beyond what the Offense did in scoring pts. Their defense was average at best and they played a pretty lame schedule except for the Packers. I think even if they were to of beaten the Falcons which they should of, they would of lost to the Broncos, Denver showed right away Atlanta didnt deserve to be in that game
Honestly this song reminds me when the Cowboys were going for the field goal but went for the 2-pt Conversion and failed and when Tony Romo threw a possible TD Pass to Owens and was never caught and Romo sat on the field grabbing his helmet of what that costed him the Cowboys to win a Playoff game and I'm Damn!! proud of my Dallas Cowboys!!! WIN LOSE OR TIE I AM A COWBOYS FAN TIL I DIE!!!
I hope the falcons can go to the superbowl this year! U never know we only need 1 more game to win and we are in the playoffs. If we go to the playoffs we will be either 10-6 or 11-5, so if the Packers won the superbowl with a 10-6 record than i bet we can too! GO FALCONS!
Broncos fan for 3 years... Last super bowl apprence was in 1999 against the falcons.. The team was lost for several years but now it's time for them to get back up on there feet and be a powerful team like they used to be....
Browns fan for 40 years.... This song reminds me of only 1 thing. "The Fumble" and seeing Ernest Byner kneeling on the sidelines with his head buried in his hands. Cleveland will get there some day. It's horrible seasons like this and sticking by them through thick and thin that will make it that much more sweeter when it does.
I think of the 2008 Ravens and 2008 Eagles. My two favorite teams... both ended at their respective conference championships. A Ravens/Eagles SB would have been a dream.
The 98 team was kinda before my time (I'm 19) so I didn't understand the significance when we lost. But after watching the Missing Rings and all the other stuff on the 98 team (including the full re-air of the NFC title game), it hurts. No one loves a team like I love the Vikings. The 2009 game for me was what 98 was to most people. Maybe, someday, Ponder will lead us to the Big Game and win it.
@VikeFan284296 I'd be more upset about '09. I think the '09 team beats anybody (Saints, Colts) on a neutral field. The '98 team, while very good, I still think would've lost to Denver.
2006 and 2010 chicago bears in 06 they came so close but thn came the supr bowl and it all went down hill but the opening kickoff the greatest super bowl memorie 4 me thn came the 2010 chicago bears new qb and a dominant defense we played amazing all year and went all the way 2 the NFC championship game but we fell short once agn and the packers wnt on 2 b the supr bowl 45 champions
This makes me think of the 2009 Colts. They played so well the whole season. They came back from so many deficits to win in so many ways, and if they hadnt rested starters they would have gone undefeated. They were such a great team. Its a shame they didnt win the superbowl.
@Rodgersforprez12 Thank you for sharing that. And I'd like to thank everyone else for their kind words. I've often wondered if a "curse" can be killed. Thanks to people like all of you "wishing" and "hoping", one day.... the curse WILL end.

This reminds me of the Bengals the hope th future holds now with AJ Green, Andy Dalton, and the rest of the new kids. I don't know why, but I have a good feeling about this time this year..and for years to come.
this makes me think of that 1998 Vikings team. They we're so good and it seemed that nothing could stop them from making the Super Bowl. However, thats why you play the games. Thats why we love football, cause when you think something his guaranteed can change in one game, one play, one snap.

A Cardinal fan since the age of 8 seeing them play the Redskins and saw two cardinals playing outside in the snow in late October in VA. This song will ALWAYS remind me of the happiest and saddest day of my "NFL life" Superbowl 43. A team cursed for over 60 years almost changed fate and won their first Superbowl ever. With little over 2 minutes left I was dancing as Fitz caught the leading TD. Then over minute later.... tears. I'm Proud of them though. One day... Hope WILL find a way.
@lronWill wow.... Thats Amazing.... i feel like making a short film on ur experience... :) keep ur hope up... and yes... this theme is very Amazing!!!!!
@lronWill One day, man. I don't realize how lucky I am to have seen two of my teams win multiple championships in my lifetime. Your time will come. Best of luck to you guys this year.
@lronWill Damn bro im a Pats fan, but i sincerely wanted them to win, it was just like defying destiny itself. You sir and all Cards fans should be proud (:
@lronWill I'm a Steelers fan, and when I heard the Cardinals made the Super Bowl, I was very proud. And everyone in my hometown was like, "shut up". In my own way, I rooted for the Cards to get a ring. But like they say, there can be one winner. You should be proud of the Cards. Their 2008-2009 team will never be forgotten.
@lronWill You should be DAMN proud of that team. I tell you what, I know how you feel being sad on that day, but you guys fought back and you gained not only my respect, but a lot others. Well deserved, sir.
Steelers fan here. Don't give up hope. There have been many seasons when the Steelers sucked, but they came back. You have a great team right now, so keep cheering for them, since they need supporters like you. God bless, and apologies about 43.
@ikecham he'll be good if the lions can acually manage to keep him upright. one more serious shoulder injury to that right shoulder and it could potentially be it for him

Man, that one took me a long time to get over. In fact, I still dont thik I have gotten over it yet.
@metathus1488 The good thing is people in boston have had all 4 of their great sports franchises do really well the past 15 years so its nice to see our teams play in championship after championship every year. 10 championship appearances in 10 years, seven of those wins. The losses were to N.Y and L.A. Every other city has 1 or 2 good franchises and boston has 4. So they can lose a few lol. I hope my 9ers can take it next year.
As A 49ers fan with family and friends who are mostly packers and patriots fans( 1 cowboy fan and 2 giants fans) we can honestly say that the giants are the best NFL franchise of the past 30 years. The losses were to N.Y and L.A. Every other city has 1 or 2 good franchises and boston has 4. So they can lose a few lol. I hope my 9ers can take it next year.
