Unconditional love is complex. Mothers do it better than anyone I know next to Jesus. I talk to men in their 50 and 60's whose pain is still as strong today as it was 30, 40 years ago. It is a painful confusing painful issue to be attracted to the same sex, especially when you love church, God , and your family with all of your heart. Then everything you love is taken from you. I know people who are desperate to find love and they go from man to man. I had a friend who was with a guy who beat him and gave him an STD and the only reason he stayed is because he was starving for love. He did not pursue higher education because he got so caught up in the emptiness of his unfruitful search. Last I heard from him he had HIV. So sad.

Very powerful! You definitely poured your heart and soul out, man. It saddens me that in 2008, parents still have such negative responses to their children coming out. I bet you any money that if that young man approached his parents with the news that he had gotten a young woman pregnant, the response would have been more supportive (even though something like that is so irresponsible) and he wouldn't have been kicked out.
