Ron Paul vs Gingrinch?(chickenhawk/cheater) Obamney?(chickenhawk/govt health care flip floper) Sanitorium (Chickenhawk, opposition of right to privacy) Bush excuse me Perry ( need I say more) Ron Paul 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand how he's been able to consistently argue his position for soooo long to people who are too ignorant or too willfully stupid to listen and understand. He never gets angry and is always so civil.
i vote for myself, because i am an american and i can vote. i dont vote for any party deeply involved in a rigged, consumer - dependency based, corporate military regime that our system of govnt has become. the u.s. militarism around the world is fucking crazy. from the useless wars, to the quiet base in the philipines somewhere, to the underground bases, to the underwater bases! like AUTEC in the bahamas. i ask what the fuck are they doing down there? secret submerged craft?
Sigh, I'm sure you've done the massive and proper analysis of comparing the private and public sectors rates of failure before you came to your awesomely stated conclusion that "government has a near perfect record of failure." As if a massive market failure did not just happen, a failure that had no government fault to it save inaction.
And lord knows it must be the government that is keeping you middle class or below. It in no way could possibly be the upper class. What a noob.
No one wants a large amount of power to be held by any small group, but the American system of governance is pretty good at breaking up the power to be shared by smaller and smaller groups along the grapevine.
And I'll only fuck myself if you promise to watch.
But government has to interfere in your life. It is seeking, hopefully with some say by you and whomever you can get to agree with you, to create and enforce laws that we agree lead to a more civil society. What Ron and his son don't seem to want to understand is that sometimes specific laws are required to fight specific people at specific times. You can't take people to court unless there are laws written with which to prosecute against.
@RobVerma2396 Doesn't have to interfere as much as our current 1 does; look at the 100s of yrs we didn't have affirmative action, welfare, social security, labor unions, etc; everybody was good, the only income tax was 2% on the top bracket, and none for the rest; and we had GOVT SURPLUSES ALL THRU THOSE YRS (the 20s)
@RobVerma2396 Theres a difference between libertarianism and anarchy. Government has a near perfect record of failure. The middle class is evaporating in this country, I made 49 thousand dollars last year but i only saw 26 of it. Guess I was contributing to society, right?
He doesn't believe in no government. He believes in small government. That isn't an anarchist view. He doesn't believe in a stateless society. He just thinks government shouldn't be intervening in your life.
That doesn't mean there will be no recourse is your liberty is imposed upon. There will be consequences just the same as today. But through courts and contract law. Not imposed by blanket legislation from big government.
I hope anyone who ever had the idea of voting for this man for any non-local government office is watching this. He pretty much could just repeat his Utopian view of what the world should be. I also like how most of his predictions of nuclear holocaust and the Japanese owning everything in America turned out to be false. Just because he is willing to challenge the idiocies of the people in charge doesn't mean he is not also an idiot.
@RobVerma2396 I completely agree (as a recovered Ron Paul supporter) He is basically an Anarchist in a suit. He has a Utopian fantasy that everyone is going to get along and play nicely without government interference. He believe's in the right of big business to rape and pillage as much as they want, while millions starve because it's "their choice".
@RobVerma2396 It is also widely rejected that taxation is "theft". He speaks as though Martians have come down and taken everyone's hard earned money. Thieves don't build roads, schools, and maintain social safety nets. He can point out all sorts of issues about the execution of policy, but that doesn't at all prove that government is always going to fail under the philosophy on which it is currently built in the US and any other industrialized country. For him it's like a religious belief.
@PurpleHoneyBear And that religious belief is what the neoliberals (who call themselves "libertarian", which is bizarre) hinge on to add legitimacy to their ideas of "small government." Though to his credit, at least he will identify what "small government" constitutes. Nevertheless I'd really rather not be alive to see the results of that experiment.
This was 3 weeks after I was born. Now I'm voting for this man. :)

@PurpleHoneyBear I recommend "Anatomy of the State" by Murray Rothbard. Available at mises.org. It's short.
