Well, it remains that ur classification is little shallow...those who are exposed to both environment will tell u better the difference. But there is one thing for sure, in the past 50 years there has been more theories developped by engineers than scientists. Especially in the Electrical/Electronic/Applied Mathematics fields. Not only that many theories for practical solutions were developped by engineers. Now if u have PhD in engineering u'r conisdered a scientist (e.g. themodynamics, Control)
Great explanation for anyone trying to decide between the two fields. I'm a chemical (process) engineer in industry and really enjoy it but I've always thought research would be a fun challenge.
Engineers are overwhelmingly conservative and scientist overwhelmingly liberal. There are various theories on why that is but for whatever reason it works out that way.
@WilliamPbrane I actually disagree with you. It might seem that way, but I've never worked for or met a non-conservative scientist. The reason for that is probably because I've worked for private companies and corporations, so the obvious bias to keep business going would be a lean toward the right. Engineers would be primarily right winged because they are practically all employed in industry.
