Oh... Dear... LORD! This is the first time I've seen this since youtube messed around with the video player, and they BUTCHERED the quality- especially the darker scenes. Sorry about that! I shoot in HD now, anyway. Check out some of my newer stuff, guys! (Haha, I've got tanks!)
The colt can be cheated by a soldier by stuffing an extra round in the barrel once entering a loaded magazine, making it 8 rounds total. The rifle the soldier had is actually an old WWI Springfield trainer that was all we had available while filming this scene.
I'm pretty sure there weren't any tennis shoes in this... but the captain's bars things have an explaination.
This part was the first part shot, and the main character was supposed to be a captain, but we changed the script. This is a high-school project, we didn't expect anyone to think that much about it.
sorry. i'm an actor and military enthusiast, so i tend to get kinda weird about this type of stuff, although i wasn't so much when i was making war movies in high school, although most of my friends did have the boots, we didn't all have the web gear and we used paintball guns instead of blanks or airsoft guns cuz we'd never heard of them. ok, and now the captain/corporal thing makes sense. glad you got rid of them by the end of the film. overall, good film
I see a lot of people talking crap in these comments, for shame. Consider the fact that hes only 17/18 and he amassed the resources to create this film alone. I think that kind of budget allows for the borrowing of a few ideas or musical scores. He showed excelent knowledge on ww2 for some one of his age, even if he did get a small fact or 2 wrong. So before you post a sh*$y comment, just watch a few more home made movies on youtube, 95% of them are crap. Mr. Kilts, 5/5.
Why would you have a bolt action rifle when you jumped? They weren't issued to the airborne , or the infantry.(U.S.)You should have disguissed it as a Karbiner from a dead German.Oh well to late now, great film anyway.
The springfield was used by paratroopers, but it was very rare. For example, i have scene a pic of a rifle grenadier with a springfield in the 503rd pir in the pacific. Also in the book "The Road to Arnhem" pvt burgett(author) explains how a NCOs father sent him a springfield and this was during Operation Market Garden late war.
when all of the 3 guys meet they wouldn't be all from the same unit cuz the men usually got separated from their original unit. Next time maybe u should mix up the units, (ex: is like 82 and 101 mix.)
and at 7:8 i think it was when he heard the cricket the trooper said "thunder" when its based of the weather "FLASH" of lightning followed by "THUNDER"
dude i feel ya i was going to do a vietnam vid for school but instead i had to do gulf war and we didnt do any combat scenes we only did one with protecting the oil at like the camps and crap but still we did do a nbc suit part kinda like jar head and we used airsoft guns (all m16 and m4s luckily) so ya i wanted to do vietnam so ya i kno wat u mean
I do, but being that this is a school project and how 'politically correct' schools are these days, I stopped halfway through it. I regret it every time I see it though, I wish I finished it.
I hear ya, public schools in Canada are just as bad. Don't feel too bad about it, it's like me having to put "humankind" instead of "mankind" on a paper cause of the stupid feminists lol.
The rifle in this part is a dummy from WWI- a training gun. As for a paper panzerschreck- haha you're close. PVC pipe. In the remake, it'll be as close to real as you can get... just wait :)
im not saying I dont like your video because I truley admit it is a masterpiece but I found it kind of funny that the pilots had scripts (i know they probably didnt want to memorize numerous lines too lol).
lol yeah. They did a good job though. They were the real pilots of the plane. They were such a big help to filming the scene that I wanted to thank them by including them. They didn't have time to practice lol.
I noticed you were wearing a captain's insignia on your shoulders but your character's a corporal isn't it? Anyways great movie you made. Very professional :)
Haha yeah I added them when I first got the uniform and didn't remove them until after we started. They're only there for this part though. I'm glad you liked it!
once again pure win(if you'll pardon the internet slang)i loved it great shots great green screen great effects man first an authentic train now a C47 who knows what the next part will have the filters only bothered me becauuse i knew they were there and about 2/3rds of colby's acting was a little blocky because it wasnt causual and was very specific so i was kinda expecting a stumble or two (not in a this guy cant act kinda way though)but over all 5 stars zooming to part 3
7 shots in the clip, 1 in the barrel. A lot of times soldiers would stick an extra round in before combat. We made the panzershreck... so... yeah you're right there lol. Anyway I'm glad you're pointing these out because it shows how much thought was put in this film that we were able to include these little known facts.
Actually- if I recall (I may be mistaking), but the African Theater wasn't doing so well at the time, so a lot of the equipment was moved up to Europe- vehicles, tanks, and weapons.
But anyway, my excuse for using a panzerschreck was that they had one in Saving Private Ryan- remember when Matt Damon shouts "Panzerschreck!!" while they're throwing the mortar rounds?
Yes they were used. I never said they were not used in service.
What I am saying is. Panzerschreks were mainly usd on the eastern front, not on the western front. Show me proof (picture, veteran) allied saying they saw a panzerschrek in Normandy on D-Day.
My D-Day book by Steven Ambrose is interviewed by tons of vets, but no where once was their a panzerschrek mentioned. Yes panzerFAUST, but I am pretty sure a 101st airborne solider would not see a panzerschrek.
You're partially right. They took off on the 5th around 10 pm and dropped about 3 or 4 hours later in the early hours of the 6th. In part 1, it says June 5th and it shows them taking off. In this it's June 6th and it shows them dropping.
outstanding ,loved the interviews of some of the w.w 2 heros.all your hard work payed off.this is an outstanding video.the acting and the effects are great.
