  • I just now realize what you Irish have suffered at the hands of the english cocksuckers. and I sympathize. I am german descent and well, we all know, or some of us know, if you read between the zionist lies what the english conquerers are all about. For my money, I'd give anyting to meet their best in the steamy hot jungle scheissen of sout viet nam and bring your mates. It'll be a short and hot little party. Only one will be coming home mein kamaraden and it wonit be the union jackoff boyz

  • Most of my ancestors were Irish Catholics, some were Scottish Catholics & some were English Puritans. Both sides committed evil & monstrous atrocities on each other for generations on this island. They slaughtered each other for decades until their descendants eventually intermarried. Most of us Irish today are the result of those marriages, whether we like to admit it or not. We should not forget our history, but let's leave it in the past where it belongs.

  • @Darren9592 Easier said than done mate!!!!!!!!!

  • Ireland are dirt poor Lord Oliver Cromwell AKA God decimated those dirt irish

  • @SnuffFawksXVIII Dirt poor after you robbed us blind you fuckin thiefs. You only sent Cromwell over the complete the robbery.

  • @SnuffFawksXVIII You again. Its not even your country. Go away and concentrate on yor own country you silly waste of oxygen!!!

  • Two wrongs by two religious factions, don't make a right.Murdering innocent,Irish civillians outright at random, isn't on,as murdering thousands Protestants,by the Catholics.Finding out who the trouble makers were,in both of the communities, first, then executing them,is something different.Thats what should have been done in the first place. But fair and just laws never existed in the 17th Century,in Britain or in any other country-as most of the worlds population never valued human life,at all.

  • @MarineAqua45 They stole Irish land you stupid fuck!!!!! If somone came to your home and told you to move because 'we want to put someone with another religion here', what would you do? Nothing judging by your previous reactions!!!!

  • Thousands of Protestants was killed by lowlife Irish and then Cromwell beat the shit out of them

  • The numbers were exagerated grossly for propaganda. Those people that were murdered had just came in and stolen the irish peoples land from them so they were thieves and criminals. They reckon about 600 people were mudered by the irish then Cromwell came and mudered 600,000 people.

  • @khightshospitaller He was Republican lmfao

  • At the end of the day Cromwell was no different from any African or European despots, whether they were the reigning monarchies or a formed totalitarian government.Cromwell & his Junta, were no different to the Iraqi Baath Party or the German Nazi party.Saddam persecuted Kurds just like how,Cromwell persecuted Catholics,as did Henry the Eigth.Except that there was no chemical weapons or machine guns.

  • it says a ''quarter of the population died'' can someone tell me what number would that be?

  • At that time, about 1.4 million (so he caused in one way or another the deaths of between 35,000~700,000 people, and many more died after that.

"though a few historians have suggested that the population dropped by as much as 50%.[6]"

6.The History and Social Influence of the Potato, Redcliffe N. Salaman, Edited by JG Hawkes, 9780521316231, Cambridge University Press

  • Out of a population of 1,400,000, it is estimated around 600,000 died.

  • This is one of the more facinating historical films here on You Tube. My only regret is that the whole show is not put on here.

  • I am a black american and I read in a book that the Irish slaughtered thousands of protestants and English civilians before Cromwell's invasion. It this true? I know that you Irish guys are as emotional as we are and I feel for what you all had to endure through history. Although you were not kept as slaves you were dised by the English in a lot of ways.

  • It is true my friend there were many killed in retaliation. but this was not done in the name of independence, the irish knew they couldn't defeat england they'd just keep comming back. it was done so we could be part of england but have more rights and our own government. like in 1922 when we got a free state. though it has haunted us we also remember englisg and irish catholics and protestants fought together when cromwell came.

  • 4000 protestants were killed by Catholic rebels, but many people fail to realise that thousands of innocent catholics were killed at this time as well by English forces even before Cromwell had come. Also, English media at the time completely exaggerated the death toll, saying 165, 000 enlgish settlers were killed and that catholics and protestant babies and piked them.

  • it MAY be true, i dont know, but British forces always been trying to make the Irish look like bad guys, they even blamed the innocent nationalist civilians for 14 of there deaths in a peaceful march (bloody sunday). So it is likely not to be true, what book did u read it from? I would like to know, if it was made in ireland its true, if its made elsewhere its not

  • @keveydaking True friend, but they have had to admit that they were wrong in Derry. They always were murderers and always will be murderers. You wrote this a year ago and you have been proved correct. We all knew this to be the case but it is sick, that until the murderers admit they are murderers the innocent suffer. What type of justice is this when it takes the 'murderers' 38 years to judge themselves. Whatever happened justice?

  • We were slaves thousands of us were sent as SLAVES to the barbados by Cromwell and made work on the sugar plantations alongside black slaves. We were treated even worse because we couldnt handle the heat and many of us died from heat stroke. The africans could handle it so they were worth more than us to the slave traders.

  • War throughout history is 9/10 caused by those who cast the 1st stone & who would admit but in Ireland it was the facts and no one will/can deny this, so what was the Government at the time going to do, sit and watch its people getting slaughtered ? in those sensitive religious times i dont think that was ever going to happen and with the media twisting and exagerating the reports (nothings changed there) and also with threat of the spanish invading , cromwell was their only card ,

  • hail lord cromwell his detractors yap like dogs while he sits by gods side

  • 3/cont;People want to say,i dont hear too many grieving for those thousands of Protestant Men Women & Children who where Burned and Drowned leading up to Cromwells approach on the Irish Towns, the fact is All Murder & All War is wrong but people have to add up the true facts of the entire situation before they converse,ie Hear both sides of a Story before you comment!God Bless You Oliver The Protector of our Faith, they had to wait untill you where dead before they could get the better of you !!!

  • You gotta realise however that in the period of 1641-1653 somewhere around 15 000 protestants died in all. Compare that to the well over 200 000 Catholics who were killed, and how all of the Cromwellian "protectors" helped themselves to extensive irish land. While I agree that people don't seem to understand that that's how war was back then, it can't be denied that Cromwell's rule eventually went too far, simply looking at how quickly the monarchy returned following his death

  • sorry correction, i think in the whole war it was 60 000 protestant (That includes gov soldiers) and 500 000 catholic, but still you get my point there's an imbalance in the two figures

  • 2/ cont:would not surrender to cromwells army,there for the battle commenced and the Irish where decimated in both towns,Cromwells place as a hate figure by the Irish Catholic is correct but there was worse than Cromwell and he could have done worse if he so wished,after Cromwell worse did happen and he sent his Son to calm and stop as much as he could,but Oliver was sent to Ireland to put an end to Protestant Murders/Masacres and a soldier and Protector he done his job no matter what;(Cont;

  • Murdering Bastard ?

Well those whom cast the 1st stone and all that wwhen you use the term Murdering Bastards!!what i mean is Portadown and many situations like it where the RC Clergy encouraged mass execution of anyone claiming the Protestant faith, there was several years of drowning and burning Protestants before Cromwell "WAS SENT" to Ireland where he set his Army on 28 Irish towns offering each one freedom from the sword if they gave their surrender, the 2 towns of wexford & Drogheda{cont -

  • i believe Bertie would not go for a meeting with the british pm in a office with a portrait of Cromwell, said something like "not with a portrait of that murdering bastard", or something to that effect. Shows the insensitivity of the british, but i suppose they really have little knowledge of what they did in Ireland. dont care really.

  • That really looks KOOL guys.

  • yep quite agree nearly choked when i saw his statue in London

  • It's not all bad. he may have a statue but theres a statue of King Charles I looking down on him. and look at the outcome of this. cromwell is reveared by the irish and most of the english as a traitor, and Charles I is reveared as a laterday christ, killed for the sins of his peaople. now thats poetic justice.

  • i read somewhere that bertie ahern once called cromwell a murdering bastard

  • yes he was attending a meeting in london he was asked to stay in a waiting room when he saw the picture of cromwell he said i will not stay in this room with that murdering bastard

  • @vulkitan Yeah he did it's in Micheàl O' Siochrù's book "God's Executioner" he tells how Bertie went and visited the foreign secretary Robin Cook and when he went into his office he walked back out again saying he wouldn't come back until the portrait of that "mudering bastard" was removed. Cook did remove it which was decent of him. O' Siochrù also mentions that Stephen Fry said it would be like hanging a portrait of Eichmann in front of the Israeli PM. Some God that is.
