  • My best friend/boyfriend commited suicide this tiime last year, because he was bullied.

    He was thirteen.

This is what I hear when I think of him

Miss you and love you. I will never forget you.

    R.I.P. TR 3

  • My grandpa died 7 years ago last night from cancer. This song is so special to me. For one, my grandpa loved musicals and this was the one that he got to see live and that stole his heart. Plus the words are straight from my heart as if I myself wrote them this is what I would say.

  • @aCleverLittleGirl, really? I do too.

  • wow...i sound almost like her when i sing this......

  • I'm SO excited to be playing this on Piano for my exam this year!

  • Goosebumps....

  • I wish MY school would do a phantom of the opera musical...... these songs are just amazing!

  • im auditioning in my school musical of phantom of the opera tomm, singing this song. wish me luck!!!

  • @AutumnAweBear did you get it? :)

  • That awkward moment when one top comment is sad and the other one is stupidly funny.

  • six people hate there dadds

  • My father passed away when I was 3 years old. This year will be 12 years for me and my mom without him. This song explains everything. It describes all the emotions I have felt. Even though it has been so long, it never gets easier. But it has made me stronger.

  • my best friend died a few years back. i never realised how much this song ment to him. now every year on the day of his death i sing this song. i will never forget him and this song keeps him in my mind. i need to thank andrew lloyd webber for making such a beautiful song that will stay in my heart forever..................and im 14

  • this song reminds me of my grandpa who died of a heart attack. My mom misses him cuz' he was my mom's dad... Plus, I did this this song on the piano and sung to it at my piano recital... And the best line iz "Why can't the past just die?" :'(

  • I.........reminds me of my grandmother...cries

  • I love this song. I'm 14 years old, and I prefer rnb over opera, but this song is just simply... Amazing.

  • so haunting of a song...i sing this all the time in voice lessons

  • Well, Brokenfrogs, she's not saying it can, but she wishes her unfortunate past would not haunt her anymore. Christine lost her mother when she was so young and her father was all she had left. Then he died and she became terribly sad about it and she just wants to be able to see him again. Terrific song, I'm thinking of singing it for the talent show at school.

  • how can the past die?

    i don't get it

  • This song means so much to me, it helped me to cope with deaths in my family. I sing it to my relatives, hoping somewhere, they can still hear my voice.

  • My cousin lost her child just a week ago and I think this fits. He was still born and wasn't supposed to be born until next year.

  • My father died two years ago, and when we finally lay him to rest, we are playing this song.

I listened to it and cried until I threw up because I could. Jeez did i feel better after that long cry.

This song just relates to me so well.

I honestly love phantom of the opera, I've watched it since I was a baby.

It's pretty hard to cope, as I'm only 13 but I pull through. Never bottle up tears inside, letting out a good cry really helps.

    RIP Daddy.

  • Someone said that cry is good for your soul, helps you get relieved from negative energy. This song proves that is completely true.

  • our dog just died today :( this song reminds me of him..

  • I love singing this song :))

  • im crying

  • This is the best song in the Phantom of the Opera!! Love this song so much! Too good <3 <3

R.I.P nanna love you forever and ever lots of love cleolinda

  • My mother's friend's husband died of cancer. Our friends are like family to us. I went to his funeral. I almost had to leave because I was so sad. I never saw any of his children because they were all in their room crying. :'(

  • Beautiful !:D

  • A little over 3 years ago my classmate Kelsey Shannon who was 13 was raped and killed by her 18 year old boyfriend. She didn't like me. She made fun of me. I still wish she was alive and well making my life hell all she wants as long as she has hers.

  • I miss you grandpa. . . never forget what you told my father, "Being strong in times that seemed bleak is sometimes the best way to move on." Rest in peace.;

  • This makes me think of my nanny from back when I was younger. She was the mother of a family friend; her name was Enelda, though we kids called her 'Bita 'Da. Her 1st anniversary of her death is today, I believe. Honestly, if anyone deserves heaven, it's her. She was so sweet and loving and never was selfish. She was also the person responsible for our early exposure to Spanish. We all miss you, Abuelita Enelda! RIP.

  • @MissAthenaGirl R.I.P. =(

  • @danella89o8 I find it hard to talk to someone I have not talked to 4 10 days. LOL

  • I am so jealous of the girl who played Christine, she had the most beautiful voice!

  • i would loveee to be christine in a play, i got a great voice but im just too shy. :(

  • Emmy? Ewww... :(

  • @danella89o8 i have now learned this whole song, and im getting better with my shyness. (and im now 15. had my birthday on the 2nd of august) :D im most likely going to post a youtube vid of me singing this, or a different song from Phantom of the opera.

  • When my grandmother died she died happy with a smile on her lips :,)

But now when she's dead... she's happier :,) Now she lies on a graveyard as ashes. When i come visit her i sing this song . . .

  • @Hestepigen3110 and @AddieT996 ME TOO!! (and i'm only 14 ^_^) I would sing this song until I was hoarse, but I'm shy. :( (and I don't know most of the words :/ )

My Dad actually commit suicide because of the great depression he had in 1999. This doesn't change how much I wish he was here though!

  • @nemozazz im so sorry :(

  • @nemozazz I'm so sorry to here that :( My dad died in 2003 when I was 6. *hugs*

  • @nemozazz It is sweet that you keep this as you theme song. I use this song for my grand father who died on May 26th of 2011.

  • @nemozazz my dad died in '98, i was two also :(

  • i really love this song my mates mom wants to sing it i love the song though fantastis

  • I am an opera singer and i can never sing this song without crying!!!!!!!

  • i really liked this movie..i just hated how every song was the same tune...oh well still a good movie

  • @deathnote1592 i liked that because it made songs easier to learn. xD

  • @deathnote1592 all the songs are suppososed to be dark and mysterious, like the author's life at the time when he wrote it.

  • @cheernasticchix i didn't say that they weren't dark or mysterious i said they all sounded the same, they had the exact same tune. you can have dark and mysterious without using the exact same tune

  • I love this song!!!!!!!! I wish I could perform this sing it truly is amazing and powerful. (I can sing like this too teehee)

  • @AddieT996 I can sing it like that too! We're cool :DD

  • I CANNOT believe 'Christine' was only 18 years old when she did this movie!! OMG!

  • @Cozypup really?

  • @msbeachrox

I think so... hun, I thought she was like 22 or something!! omg... THAT'S incredible!!!

  • @Cozypup cool

  • @Cozypup i know

  • they used the newer singing... i like this one better than the older recording of it... the second try on the musical movie recorded cleaner and they picked an actress with a beautiful voice this time as well

  • @twinEZcheese While i agree with the orchestra being better, what's wrong with Sarah Brightman?

  • @SMSProductions1 Nothing at all is wrong with her...i just liked her better as Blind Mag in Repo the Genetic opera rather than Phantom.... the quality of the time she was recorded versus now... not that good, now if she redid Phantom now with the better sound quality it would top this.

  • I'm singing this in a show with my drama group :) this song is amazing; there is so much feeling into the words and the pitch of the song... I only hope I can give that feeling towards this when I sing it :)
