This game was supposed to be the next best thing following Battlefront's awesome Combat Mission series of WWII games (Beyond Overlord; Barbarossa to Berlin; and Afrika Korps). But Battlefront really created a turd sandwich with Shock Force. Inexcusably clunky product. And to make it worse, they've droped all effort to support their three proven products. Barbarossa and Afrika Korps in partiuclar are awesome.

It's much better now that they've patched the game to the state it should have been in on release.

I gave up on CMBB/CMAC because the effect of fire on morale was massively overmodeled to the point where it was laughably unrealistic.

It's nothing like JTF

The gameplay has nothing what so ever in common.

This is a turn based (WEGO) strategy game.

The 3d graphics would not even be a concern for most that play it, they'd quite happily play with coloured counters.

JTF is a shooter with the very slightest addition of strategy. (and it really is minute)

This is a pretty heavy strategy that looks like a shooter

What this vid doesn't show is that before any of the action you saw - you have to command your troops to move, fight, reorganise or whatever. Then you press "go" and sit back and watch what happens.

They try and follow your orders, but adapt them depending on enemy actions.

There is no real time element in this game (except you watching the outcome)

It's MUCH deeper than ARMA II, but if real time shooty bang bang is your thing you will not enjoy this.

Best leave it to those that do :-)
