We (The Dirtbox Divas) did a remix of this if you care to check it out. Keep an open mind, we did it because we love the track. Nothing tops the original though.
Damn, I feel so fortunate to be alive to experience this beautiful work of art.
A long, long, long time from now—when most of what passes for musical accomplishment today has long since slid down the slope into rightful oblivion—this wondrous, inspiring, and goosebump-inducing thing of beauty will still be affecting us . . . moving us . . . making us so happy to be alive.
Sylvester, you have given us a gift that will live for eternity . . .
I've been watching this video for 4 years or more. It's been a climb, but now it's at the front door of the 1,000,000 views mark. Congratulations from an avid fan, and Facebook appreciation group Sylvester!
So sad Sylvester died before his time. His music had so much energy! It had a life of it's own........It, and he deserved to live on much longer than they did. Thanks for posting this.....There's not much of his great music around.
Frigin still charges my blood when I hear this. LOVE U Sylvester. Dancing the night away with all the boys on Sunday nights at Metro on Lansdowne Street, Boston. Shirtless and crazed, everyone living for dance music like this every weekend. Will never forget it. Best times of my life.

one of the true gay classics of the 80s! Sylvester is FINALLY getting the fame he truly deserved. Great synths from Patrick Cowley...RIP Syl...RIP Pat...
DId they play this song on 'Trading Places? I always wondered what the name of that song was, until Eddie Murphy was yelling about people putting their cigarettes out on the carpet! Nobody should talk when a cool song is playing!
These were the goood ole days. I have danced many, many nights to the DISCO era. The younger generation has no idea what they missed. Today's "music" and "dance" don't even compare. This was REAL and FUN. RIP Sylvester, you had it goin on girlfriend. Many GREAT memories.
@GregMarine2010 I agree! even though I was born in '75, at least I caught some of the action...this still played in clubs when I got out of high school...the kids now have no clue as to how much fun it was!
i was so embarrased when my mom kicked her heels off in a mall that was playing this song then she started dancing and screaming. omg i have never been so embarrased in all my life quickly got away from her
RIP Sylvester, I came across this Video on your birthday and remember you telling me you were having a "Diva Day" at the Round Up preparing for a show! You were a wonderful man who everybody in the "City" loved! I remember you telling me your favorite flavor of men was bearded, hairy and under 30! LOL RIP my friend, you are missed!!
The music in the 70s had so much soul, rhythm and life. (And not just dicso, either) When you hear some of these people singing their songs, it's like they don't want to waste one minute of living. And they don't get much more real than Sylvester...
One of the best dance cuts ever was never a big radio hit. Released in 1982, it became part of the soundtrack of Trading Places in 1983. More memorably for me, it was featured in the 1990 movie about the effect of AIDS on the gay community, "Longtime Companion," 2 years after Sylvester died of complications from AIDS.
.Dance songs do not get much better than this. Here is the extended mix.
