  • pretty good. i'm 15 and playing this too. i'd calm down on the loud parts though. you sound so much better softer. but it might just be the recording. plus a professional clarinet helps SO much. other than that, just relax a bit, and maybe a little faster at the end.

  • I'm a clarinet player too and I'm about to do this piece. personally I think you need to work on your tone a little bit. and you squeak just a little too much. That could be from over blowing as it usually happens to me for that reason. I'm not trying to bring you down just give you playing advice for the future. but you did do a really good job on this performance concidering your age.

  • Wow, mad props!

I'm about to play this piece for a competition and I feel pathetic compared to how you play. hahahas

Keep up the good work. =]

  • Wow, this is nice! I'm also playing this and I'm also fourteen, so it's nice to know that someone out there is able to play it. =] Good Job.

  • im sorry, but you fluctuate the tempo WAAAY to much for my taste....sorry.

  • it was nice in the first part, but i agree, a bit much in the second part.

  • He's outplaying his clarinet at 14! Someone needs to invest in a professional instrument for this young man.

  • meh....im 15 and have performed this before...and this is good....but...how long did he practice this is the question

  • well, he has started preparing this piece in september (togehter with a few other pieces)

  • he is using a Yamaha 457-22 B clarinet. what would you recommend?

  • if he's going to pursue music as a major, I'd recommend the Buffet Crumpton R-13. When he get's to college they'll make him switch anyway. Boy I was I in for a rude awakening when I was told I had to spend $3500 for a new clarinet.

By the way, make sure your tone doesn't spread as you go into the altissimo range

  • How old is the performer and how long has he been playing clarinet for?

  • 14, started playing flute at age of 4, changed to clarinet at age of 10 yrs.
